Among the first metroidvania I ever played. Not the best, but it still has a soft spot in my heart.
Really fun game but its borderline unplayable with the frequent frame drops and stuttering. This is specially noticeable during bossfights where frames drop to 15 from 60.
The best Castlevania
The art style is a joke compared to the Castelvania games especially the characters and the enemies look more like Barbie playmates than Castlevania characters. Plus Epic App is a free virus that comes bundled with the game. So i will just plain avoid all games by this greedy dev studio and the scum publisher from now on.
Game has frequent 'fatal error' crashes Beyond that this game is quite good but really lacking in a lot of ways as well 1. The game has no difficulty whatsoever, even the scariest monsters will just stand there and look at you for 5 seconds before they start to act, plenty of time to dispatch them before they do much of anything. Bosses aren't much of an exception, they seem lost at times. 2. Miriam's character model, the way she moves, how slow she moves - it all looks and feels bad. 3. A lot of the enemy powers you get are actually quite boring, often just summoning the exact monster onto the screen rather than getting some unique ability or attack from them
I had a love hate relationship with this game. On the plus side, there's a great variety of enemies, weapons, and abilities. Combat is fun, and there's plenty of biomes to play through. My greatest complaint is that this game intentionally wastes your time. There's lots of backtracking and searching for a needle in a haystack in a very large world. Progression constantly comes to a complete halt after defeating a boss, gaining a new movement skill, then needing to re-explore everywhere to figure out what has opened up thanks to that new skill. About half way through the game I resorted to a walkthrough to save time, and I enjoyed the second half a lot more because of it. The idea of crafting food to increase stats is great, but when you need a ingrediant that drops from a single enemy in a single room, and only 1% of the time, then I don't see how anyone can play without a walkthrough. There's fun here, but I almost quite several times out of frustration. Saved only by the collective knowledge of others.
