About
Join over 3 million players who have already purchased Ranch Simulator on Steam!
It was once your grandfather’s pride-and-joy, but your family ranch has fallen on hard times and it’s up to you to turn things around. Sitting in a remote forested valley, the dilapidated homestead will test all your abilities as you attempt to turn it into the most prosperous ranch in the region – either alone or in up to four player co-op multiplayer.
The years have not been kind to your family ranch and it will take time and money to restore it to its former glory. Buy tools from the local hardware store and purchase a range of vehicles from the garage to help with your rebuilding projects. Renovate the main house, decide what livestock you want to farm and construct the barns, pens and runs you’ll need to keep them safe and secure.
Grand building projects are one thing. Paying for them? That’ll come down to your ranching skills. Overseeing a profitable operation is all about the day-to-day. Once you’ve selected and taken on your livestock, regular feeding and watering will keep them healthy. Successful breeding and careful rearing of the young will help boost the numbers in your herds and flocks — and the more produce you have to sell, the more income you’ll receive for all that hard work.
Expand your ranch enterprise by farming crops, producing sausages and cheese and even training and selling horses.
There’s a large open-world environment outside your cosy homestead and it’s teeming with wildlife. So when you feel like slowing the pace, why not grab your trusty rifle and head out into the forest to stalk deer and hunt bears? But remember, the wilderness lives by its own laws and you aren’t the only skilled hunter in the neighbourhood. Sometimes your steady hand and sharp eyes will also be needed back on the ranch to stop hungry wolves turning your off-grid dream into a nightmare.

Ranch Simulator is a surprisingly relaxing mix of farming, hunting, building, and managing your own ranch. The progression feels rewarding as you expand from a rundown property into a profitable operation, especially when playing with friends. While the game can be a bit rough around the edges and occasionally buggy, there's something satisfying about the day-to-day gameplay loop that keeps you coming back.
Ranch Simulator is one of those games that looks simple at first, but somehow turns into a “just one more day” experience. What I like most is the mix of systems. You are not only farming, and you are not only building. One moment you are repairing your ranch, then feeding animals, then going out to hunt, then coming back to expand everything again. That loop feels surprisingly satisfying because you can actually see your broken property slowly turn into a real business. The game also has a very specific charm: it is not perfect, and sometimes it feels a little rough around the edges, but that honestly became part of the experience for me. Underneath that roughness there is a relaxing and rewarding sandbox with a lot of freedom. You can play at your own pace, make your own goals, and enjoy the progress without the game constantly rushing you. Co-op makes it even better. Building, managing animals, driving around, and dealing with random chaos with friends creates some genuinely funny and memorable moments. Solo is still enjoyable, but with friends the game feels much more alive. If you want a super polished hardcore simulator, this may not be it. But if you want a laid-back ranch game where you can build, hunt, farm, and slowly create something that feels like your own, Ranch Simulator is easy to get attached to. It’s a bit janky, a bit grindy, and somehow still very hard to put down.
I got this game due to the Southwest Ranch DLC being where my grandpa did a lot of ranching... I will probably continue to support this game because it lets me do a lot of the stuff I used to be able to do with him and in a region/biome that feels like home to me. I cannot however recommend the game as it feels like they do not want to fix some of the big issues people have with the game or it's DLC. Instead we get a DLC that adds another variety of cow... Which as far as I can tell just adds a new cow appearance. Please fix the game before you ask for more money.
A good buy to pass time specially if the game is on sale. Game has no relevant story line to follow whatsoever, game starts > do farming stuff > animal husbandry, food processing, planting-growing-harvesting-selling crops > make money > buy more stuff > repeat. There's a bit of exploration > explore the map and you'll encounter NPC's that can give you quests for extra cash (great thing to do at the beginning of your gameplay). Would be much enjoyable if played with friends, game would feel monotonous if played in single player (like me, i have no friends (0_0 ) ). Now I'll write the positive and negative things about the game, including some <suggestions>. + Plenty of things to do, it's not just plant seeds, wait for it to fully grow, harvest and sell. + Building things has many options from walls to roofs, there's also pre-made houses that are fully furnished. You can also literally demolish all the pre-existing buildings at the ranch if you wanted to. - Building fences is a bit annoying though, because the snap feature for it only applies to one side. This needs to be attended to, devs? <Add light posts for players to build, sometimes nighttime is too dark. This would help working during the night much more manageable. > - The existing lights needs a fence/wall to place them, and it's annoying. -- This is one of the major things that needs to be taken care of, add lights to other buildings ffs. A town that doesn't have any kind of light source. You can skip the roads, just give the town and some of the key buildings illumination. + The weathers in this game is great. < Might be a good idea to make the weathers affect the player in some ways. I have many ideas for the stormy weather; lights in the farm fluctuates, some crops outdoors gets destroyed, animals that are still outdoors gets spooked and runs away from the farm if no coop/barn are made. Some weathers make animals grow faster vice versa. You can add an additional channel on the TV for weather updates! > + I love the fireworks, a very good addition. < Just please add labels on the fireworks to distinguish them from the others. If you buy 1 of each firework you don't know which one is which, the only difference between them is the color of their packaging > + A good variety of vehicles. - Like everybody says. the driving is too janky. - Attach trailers to your vehicle plus the janky driving. From my own experience; UTV plus the small trailer, I literally jumped over my barn while rolling around the air while my UTV and small trailer are air wrestling. - Another one with UTV and small trailer, I've got about 50+ salamis stacked by 6 on the trailer. Was about to sell them, then the jankiness ensued. The small trailers wheels slightly sank to ground, this made the UTV feel like it's pulling a house from below and slightly turn, we were going nowhere. Had to re-transfer the goods to my van. +- I don't know if this is an issue or not. Does the game have a bgm while you're playing or is there no bgm intentionally during gameplay? - Radios on some of the vehicles doesn't work. That's all for now can't remember anything else. Oh Right! Just a reminder to beginners. Build a dog house before buying a pupper, after you bought the dog at the general store order it to follow you. When you're at the ranch, go to the dog house and assign it to the dog house. This won't make you lose your pupper, i lost mine on my very first playthrough, run free Frankfurt the Dachshund. ( ~. ~)
This game should just be renamed Lumberjack Simulator. You'll be cutting so many trees for literally everything you want to build. If you enjoy feeling like screaming at your screen for some of the most annoying, escape artist animals, buggy AI, messing up constantly because E and right click are your only buttons, can't get ANYTHING straight, and vehicles that are chaos that decide to flip, jack-knife trailers, and go the speed of light into cliff faces and sides of buildings, this is the game for you. Otherwise, beware. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS IT IS ON SALE. HOLY S*** Do NOT waste $25 of your money on this incomplete trash.
Finger weg! Trash!
Ranch Simulator really disappointed me. The graphics feel outdated and unfinished, the physics are often illogical and full of weird moments. The game is still full of bugs that ruin the experience and often make progression harder. On top of that, some mechanics make no sense at all, and overall the game feels poorly polished.
