I dig the art style a lot. But this is a true survival game where you need to eat to stay alive. Sure, you have a lot of time to find food and eventually you may reach a point where you can carry enough food, but I have not made it that far. My expectation for this game was something like Mini Ninjas or Immortals Fenyx Rising, both being a combat focused adventures, but this is not that, it's a difficult survival and crafting game.

Das Spielsystem ist sehr cool und ich würde echt gerne das Spiel mehr als das bisschen spielen, ABER: Ich finde das Kampfsystem furchtbar gewöhnungsbedürftig. Manchmal bei einem Angriff verdreht sich meine Kamera, dann liege ich auf dem Boden bis der Feind noch mal über mich drüber trampelt. Alles ausser das Kampfsystem finde ich super. Da das Kämpfen aber essentiell ist wird es für mich eine negative Bewertung
Windbound is a survival and exploration game with a Hawaiian-inspired theme, where the protagonist Kara becomes separated from her tribe after a shipwreck. However, there are also some aspects that could be improved. The combat system can feel somewhat awkward at times, although with some adjustments it could become more fluid and dynamic. Sailing the boat can also become inconvenient once you reach the final upgrade, since the mast may block your view. A zoom-out option while sailing would likely solve this issue. Additionally, the game’s optimization can be inconsistent, as it may struggle to maintain stable FPS on weaker systems despite its relatively simple visuals. Overall, the developers seem to have put a lot of care into this small project. Kara is very well portrayed, especially through her emotional expressions, and the audio design is simple but pleasant. its feels like a beta of an game that released in 2016. I was reading the reviews about his game thinking "bro they are juust saying controls are bad and combat is trash how trash combat can be" about the controls part they are straight up lying or new to games but about combat.. it is straight up bad like unrefined and unfinished bad. And sometimes i get fps drops when fighting monsters/animals. it is an unfinished game, I bought it from sales for 1.50 dolars it felt like it was this game's full price. Atleast stroy is finished tho
cute game but currently feels more like proof of concepts/them adding features and building the base rather than a game, kinda walking simulator with concepts and ideas but not yet very much active doing for us. Cool game though, zelda feel to it combined with survival crafty hopefully they keep developing it

If you ever wondered what Zelda: Wind Waker would look like if it had hardcore survival mechanics, this is pretty much it.The Story: Alone Against the OceanYou play as Kara, a warrior separated from her tribe after a massive storm, who wakes up shipwrecked on the Forbidden Islands. The story is told very subtly—mostly through visuals and the ruins you find—which gives off a great sense of mystery. Your goal is simple: survive, build a boat, and find out what happened to your people.Gameplay: Sailing, Crafting, and (a lot of) GrindingThe Boat is the Main Character: The coolest part of the game is the sailing system. It’s not just "press a button and go"; you actually have to understand wind direction and adjust your sails to catch speed. The boat building is modular, so you can evolve from a basic grass canoe to a massive catamaran with decks and furnaces.Pure Survival: You’re constantly managing hunger and stamina. One catch is that food spoils quickly, so you can’t really hoard supplies, forcing you to hunt and gather constantly.Towers and Loops: The game is structured into chapters. In each one, you need to find three towers, activate them, and then pass through a portal. Past the like 3rd level phase you can't really advance the game. I was on beginner mode and it was supposed to save my progress but it wouldn't. Had a bug that happened at least 3 times where my boat would launch across the map and fling me in the air. Every time I would respawn I'd be in the air again and very far from my boat. Tried restarting the game to fix the issues and it didn't work. The weird purple bad guys just feel so unnecessary and kind of ruin the game. The fighting and weapons feel very underdeveloped and make it even harder to play the game. Really disappointing because I was loving the storyline being set up.
I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately it turned out to be a very frustrating experience: Even on the easiest difficulty, enemies feel far too powerful, and the combat system is clunky and unrewarding. Resources are constantly scarce, while your inventory quickly fills up with countless crafting materials. Tools and weapons break far too quickly, and without any repair option, you’re forced to craft everything from scratch over and over again. Dying is especially punishing, as you often lose your progress and have to restart from the beginning. Random events, like crabs or sharks destroying your boat, add even more frustration. Despite its colorful, stylized art style, the game is heavily focused on survival, constant danger, and punishing mechanics, which feels very different from what the game initially suggests. Overall, the game feels unfair rather than challenging.
