Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 10 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Ok but not as good as the first one. It kind of runs out of steam towards the end. Only buy it if it's 60% off or more.
I enjoyed the first Kathy Rain game. This one was even better and is one of the best point & click games I think I've ever played!
After finishing Kathy Rain 2, I can honestly say it is one of the best point-and-click adventures I have played in recent years. What impressed me the most was the design. The puzzles are consistently logical, well integrated into the investigation, and rarely leave you wondering what the designer expects you to do next. Almost every challenge feels like a natural extension of detective work: searching through documents, connecting clues, analyzing information, or following leads. The game respects the player's intelligence and avoids the frustrating trial-and-error moments that often plague the genre. The story is engaging from the beginning, with a compelling murder investigation, memorable characters, and excellent pacing. I also appreciated the quality-of-life features, such as Kathy's journal and the dialogue system, which make it easy to keep track of clues and avoid repetitive conversations. The supernatural elements become more prominent in the later stages of the game. While I personally found the detective and mystery aspects more compelling than the supernatural storyline, the overall experience remained highly enjoyable and coherent. The presentation is excellent as well. The pixel art is beautifully crafted and noticeably more detailed than in the first game, with expressive animations and great attention to atmosphere. The voice acting is consistently strong and helps bring the characters to life, but the real standout for me was the soundtrack. The music perfectly matches the tone of the investigation and several tracks stayed with me long after I finished playing. If you enjoy classic adventure games, strong writing, and puzzles that make sense, Kathy Rain 2 is an easy recommendation. A worthy sequel that, in my opinion, improves upon the original in several important ways. 9/10.

A very strong mystery, adventure, and puzzle game. The puzzles are fairly straight-forward if you have experience with this genre, but they feel natural and well incorporated. They rarely have you running about trying to figure them out and there is usually a close in Kathy's dialogue if you get stuck. If you are paying attention though, most of the time you will pick up a clue or item and know exactly what the next step should be. The game is also well written with natural dialogue, a thoughtful plot, strong emotional beats, and lots of detail to dig into should you want that. And the art deserves more than an honorable mention--it's truly beautiful and it's surprising how easy you get lost in the world. It's a strong sequel to the previous game, but does a good job of catching you up if you never played the first or, as in my case, it have been a while. All in all, this series is excellent with a strong mystery, thoughtful twists and turns, and the perfect touch of horror and pathos. The game reminds you that no one is a perfect person and that sometimes we need to be patient with ourselves and others (and that elder gods are usually bad news).
Classic point and click adventure with zero moon logic. Great art and good controls. Very polished. The story is decent, it's the "the crazy beliefs that were hinted at the whole time turned out to be real" story, exactly like so many other games, think the first game and Broken Sword, Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider etc. If you like point and click adventures and don't want much challenge and more of the same then this is the game for you. 7 / 10.
Люблю гладить котиков.
This is a very cautious recommendation. On one hand, Kathy Rain 2 is a great detective adventure. A gripping story, a stunning visual style, lively voice acting, and excellently presented puzzles. On the other hand, the game still falls short of the first one. The occult side of the story has lost the charm of its old mystery and become far more generic. The antagonists aren't half as charismatic as the ones in the original. And most importantly, the Kathy herself has gone from a troubled but likable young woman to an insufferable jerk who treats everyone around her like dirt. Sure, she had plenty of personal problems in the first game too, but back then it felt like she was at least trying to do the right thing. You can't say the same about the heroine of the sequel. It's still a good game — just not the best sequel.
I don't normally review a game after only a couple of hours on it, but I've seen enough of Kathy Rain 2 to know its not for me. The first big problem is this is clearly a female character written by a man. And a man with a very poor grasp on how women speak. 'Id rather cut of my left tit" is an actual piece of dialogue by Kathy. Its just very very obnoxious. Just loads of clicking on items to hope they have some use rather than deductive reasoning and detective work. Clearly not a murder mystery but an occult story. I played the first game and have no idea why the 2 main characters have fallen out. Its looks lovely, soundtrack seems good, and a lot of time and effort has gone into this game. But its not for me, the characters are so poorly fleshed out I cant spend 10 plus hours with them
