About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

I bought this game mainly due to a certain content creator that I watched and still occasionally watch from time to time, iykyk. After a while though, the game got stale fast. The campaign was good for for awhile, but the AI loves to use destroyers for the most part and flood the waters with torpedoes, making the battle end really fast if your ships lack torpedo protection. Also, the design process the AI uses when it comes to building the ships makes them vulnerable as well, making them prone to flash fires, ammo detonations or just really badly armored making the battle boring and not challenging. Overtime as the months go on in the campaign and you unlock "the best of the best", the battles don't feel very fulfilling. Even when you face another nation that's close to your strength, you can decimate them pretty easily if they use poorly designed ships. There are still some bugs in the game that I've seen, though they don't effect the game performance in any way, just some cosmetic quirks here and there. The game was fun while it lasted, but now I think I'm going to stop playing it after I'm done with my last campaign, which I'm close to finishing.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

*For new comers, the first video on the steam page where you can assemble your hule is a lie. You have prefabricated hule and have to choose between premade one, but you can change the lenght, width and height. Anything else is a rough asset of a ship and some blueprint ships. Game is fun and have great mechanic that can make it fun for a while, but unfortunatly the game is half baked and feels empty. Be my guess. It is still something worth playing, but you might feel disapointment on the long run and seing the unfinished potential. Lost of bugs left. You can make a few interresting design, but since the game was updated for the last time, the only way this game will ever survive is if people start modding it to death. If you want fun naval fight, go play World of Warships or War Thunder. If you want to build ships from scratch, there are better games. If you want to play a Ultimate Admiral game or naval strategies, there are others. I might have played a lot, but that was because I thought the game would improve through time. That's a lot of hours I will not see again.
While it is sad to say that the game devolpers have had to stop supporting this game. they did leave a wonderful letter to all of us who bought the game after they stopped. yes i bought this game knowing it was a "dead" game. How ever fellow admirals do not dispare there is a wonderful game community that is not only keeping the game alive but improving the game fixing bugs and adding new content. for that i would thank brothermomo (his youtube channel) for the DIP (dreadnoughts improvement project) this really is a wonderful game and i would recommend it. and yes at the time of writing this i have 216 hours in the game after it closed
My god, what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The reviews were bad, but on youtube it looked quite playable and fun with mods. Unfortunately, it is a baffling study of incompetence in game design. You want to build warships? That works ok, a bit limited and strange sometimes, but fine. You want to attack enemy fleets? Well, you can't do that. Really. Imagine that for a game with admiral in the title. The game basically decides randomly if you get to fight an enemy fleet on your doorstep, and with which ships (!). You want to order ships around in a battle? Basically, you give suggestions to the game, and it then decides. Admiral? Yeah no. You can tell the ship it's allowed to fire, but you cant make it fire, or really control when and where to shoot. And sometimes, they also ignore your positioning commands. And then there are insane inbalances. If you lose transports, you economy suffers, and you ultimately have to pay to replace them. Fine. But you can't really control where the transports go and what they do, so they like committing suicide by sailing into enemy fleets. But the killer is: there is also a crazy "fine" (applied by god, or something) that directly and immediately ruins your naval budget. Early game, my naval budget is 30 mil / month, and my most expensive BB is 40 mil. Losing a few transports instantly costs you 60 mil / month, and you can't really control that. I had 200 mil saved up, and 5 months of minor transport losses, despite having fleets around, bankrupted me completely. Apparently you need to just know that and prevent iy by having fleets evenywhere, protecting your transports. Oh, and on top of this: it overwrites your manual saves, without asking. So now, my older saves, before I entered the transport cost death spiral, are gone. And these saves are limited to 5. Because it is 1988 and you have a 50 MB hard disk. There are a lot of nice details in this game, and it can be fun, but wow did they make massively stupid choices. Update: yes, I played some more. It can be fun, but also enfuriating. Still: can't recommend.
Honestly, this game is laggy, not well explained, has nations/features that are unrealistic, and doesn't have good force generation for battles. AI using their ships as designed? nope Hull Selection creates too little design variations. go play RTW3 instead
It's hard for me to give this game a thumbs down. I really, really want to like it as you can see by the hours I have, but I just can't. The main issue at the core of this game is that it's unfinished. Not just unpolished, unfinished. The UI is a mess, tons of features are missing and it still feels like you're playing a test build. I'm not going to blame the devs for halting work on this because of the war, but they did leave a lot of full-priced games unfinished and this is one of them. There are mods like DIP that make the game relatively playable but even then that can only help with the surface issues, not the poor game design, UI issues and absence of key mechanics and features. Beyond what's missing and what shouldn't be there, what works is fun enough, but after a while you'll have gone around and it gets real boring. There's some difference in ship components between nations, and starting in various decades will make things slightly different but otherwise the gameplay is very repetitive and, again, held back by the lack of many important features. The AI is very very bad in all aspects. The AI designs awful ships which makes the campaign a lot easier than it should be. You can build your own ship library for the AI to use or download a ship pack, but that's not exactly fun. In terms of tactics the AI likes to simply sail straight at you in a big blob, so battles inevitable end up with your ships circling the blob and shooting for thirty minutes until the enemy fleet is dead or you run out of ammunition. Strategically the AI doesn't make sense. It doesn't build balanced fleets, sends its ships at the other end of the world, and often doesn't protect its coasts. AI nations will almost always be at war with one another, meaning that after the first 20 turns only 2 or 3 nations will still have a decently sized fleet for you to fight. And it might take an AI nation 20 or even 50 turns before they can regenerate a big enough fleet to make fighting them interesting. But most of the time they'll stay at under 10 ships until someone finishes them off. The ship design aspect is fun enough, although you quickly figure out what works and what doesn't which ends up limiting what you can actually do and the economy system is awkward and very limiting. The game places you in the role of chief admiral and so you can't control things like army movement which absolutely do matter and seems to work based on RNG. The diplomacy system is clunky and doesn't really give you the tools needed to make it work. You'll often get stuck fighting battles against single destroyers or one or two light cruisers because auto resolve makes no sense. Two destroyers will sink three battleships and damage ten heavy cruisers. The forced autosave is very annoying as well as you can't savescum in order to mitigate some of the issues with the game. Overall if you're a navy nerd, sure give it a go. But if you want an actual enjoyable game with (re)playability then avoid or get on sale. TLDR: Unfinished, Bad AI, Boring after a while, Many features missing and half of what's there is bad.
If you are thinking of buying this, DONT. this game is abandonware that somehow brings my pc to its knees with basic stuff. Asking for a refund as this game is near total ass
Good game but it has been abandoned and is not complete
