Terrible car physics, you can't even steer the car properly. sometimes your car glitches out and you're limited to 2000 rpm for some reason, the dialogue is cringe, the music choices are mid at best and dont even get me started on how the game looks. i wish this piece of ♥♥♥♥ didnt exist.
Tried to give this game so many chances but i cant, this ♥♥♥♥ is souless game filled with quirky marvel characters , dogwater car handling, it is just so boring.
I'm definitely the outlier, but I find this way more enjoyable than Forza Horizon 4,5 and 6. Story and dialogue sucks, but so does Horizon games, probably worse in Horizon. Graphically, not nearly as impressive, but it tries something new, which does take some getting used to, but I appreciate them not doing the bog standard photorealistic graphics. The driving is arcadey, and default settings is pretty terrible, but after turning down deadzone to 1%, and the individual car settings, it feels a lot better. The thing that makes me enjoy this way more over Forza Horizon games is that it actually has progression, I really dislike how Forza rewards you with 10 cars every hour, completely kills any sense of progression. Getting mulitple super cars in the first few hours is not fun imo, but again, I'm in the outlier. 10hrs into NFS and I'm still driving my starter car, slowly upgrading it, feels a lot more satisfying and fun. Additionally, it's way more punishing, you need cash to attend races, and you risk losing it all if you lose or if you get caught by the cops.
If you don't care about the story and you play your own songs while playing, it's a pretty good game.
game is kinda fine but why do we update the multiplayer exclusively? why not bringing changes to singleplayer too? and monetization in multiplayer is hilarious
I started NFS Unbound with the story mode, and while it was okay, the game really clicked for me once I switched to online. The online mode kept me hooked for over 200 hours, especially when playing with friends. Racing, building cars, trying different classes and just messing around in Lakeshore can be a lot of fun. It’s not a perfect game though — the story is not the strongest, the handling can feel strange sometimes, and I understand why some people don’t like the art style or the usual EA stuff. But despite its flaws, I had a lot of fun with it. I wouldn’t call it the best Need for Speed ever, but as an online arcade racer with friends, it can be really enjoyable. Recommended, especially on sale.
This game has a lot of potential and it can be a blast when the potential shines. But overall so many details(small and big) just drag the game down into the gutter. I overall have found the deadpan voice acting and basic AI that will at random either fall massively behind you or just win with ungodly acceleration and top speeds. The basics are just so badly implemented and worked on. This game pales in comparison to prior entries from decades ago, a la Need for Speed Underground and Most Wanted, that it's not even funny. It feels like this game was made by a committee.
👍 Recommended I went into Need for Speed Unbound with realistic expectations. Like many people, I'd seen months of criticism online before I bought it, so I wasn't expecting it to become one of my favourite modern arcade racers. Then I actually played it, and my opinion changed completely. What impressed me most is how *complete* the game feels. It doesn't rely on one standout feature while everything else feels unfinished. Instead, almost every part of the experience works together. The handling strikes a great balance. It never tries to be a simulator, but it also doesn't feel disconnected from the road. Grip, drifting, boosting, and cornering all feel deliberate, making the driving consistently enjoyable. Customization is another highlight. There's enough freedom to build cars that genuinely feel like your own without becoming unnecessarily complicated. Whether you want a clean OEM-style build or something completely wild, the game lets you do both. Lakeshore might honestly be my favourite map in the franchise. Every district has its own personality, and simply driving around is fun. That's something I really value in open-world racing games. Exploration shouldn't feel like dead time between events, and Unbound gets that right. The visual style is also far better than many people give it credit for. Whether you personally like the animated effects is subjective, but I respect that the developers committed to a unique identity instead of making another game that looked exactly like Heat. Racing games rarely take artistic risks anymore, and Unbound deserves credit for trying something different. The story isn't trying to be a cinematic masterpiece, and I never expected it to be. It's a straightforward street racing story about betrayal, friendship, rebuilding your reputation, and becoming the best racer in the city. For what it's trying to accomplish, I think it does a good job. I also appreciated that some of the dialogue is intentionally self-aware, something many critics seemed to overlook. I've also had a great time in multiplayer. Lockdown is one of the most interesting additions I've played in a Need for Speed game. My only real disappointment is that some modes deserve a larger player base because there are genuinely fun ideas there. Is the game perfect? No. But after playing it myself, I genuinely think a lot of the negativity surrounding Unbound comes from people judging launch impressions or internet discourse rather than the current game. Need for Speed Unbound reminded me why I prefer forming my own opinions instead of letting the internet do it for me. If you're looking for a stylish arcade racer with satisfying driving, excellent customization, a fantastic open world, and plenty of personality, I absolutely recommend giving it a chance. Sometimes the crowd gets it right. Sometimes you install the game anyway and end up wondering what everyone was complaining about.
