About
Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts aims to be the first game of its kind - a true naval warfare game - which offers a unique opportunity to design and build countless variations of realistic looking warships combined with an extremely in-depth and realistic combat model. We are absolutely excited with what we are making and we hope everyone who is interested about the dreadnought era and naval warfare, will join our ambitious project and support us.
BUILD THE BATTLESHIPS THE WAY YOU WANT
Become the architect of powerful warships, from small torpedo boats to mighty Battleships! Recreate famous ships such as the HMS Dreadnought and countless speculative designs. Pick turret layout, armor scheme, funnel placement, tower variations making each ship look and feel unique. Their hull characteristics, internal upgrade selection and weight distribution not only modifies their speed and maneuverability but also their weapon effectiveness. Every design detail of your warships has a significant effect on the combat capability of your ships.
STRONG AI
Naval combat becomes immersive and feels even more realistic when your opponent is able to react to your actions with a human-like and unexpected behavior. The AI evaluates the optimal engagement distance, using principles of the “Immunity Zone” and comparing its own firepower versus your ships. The AI uses ammunition wisely, holding fire when necessary or switching shell types according to the armor protection of the target. Unless there is a special mission directive, the AI will not act suicidally and will attempt to withdraw, if its fleet becomes heavily damaged or it is much weaker than yours.
NAVAL ACADEMY & CUSTOM BATTLES
The Custom Battle system allows you to experiment and enjoy naval battles utilizing endless combinations of ship designs in technology eras between the years 1890 and 1950 for ten different nations. Additionally, there is the “Naval Academy” which currently includes 63 battle scenarios, where you will have to design a ship or a squadron to fulfill a certain combat tactical task. These numerous missions will allow you to practice and enjoy the many innovative design and combat aspects of the game.
THE CAMPAIGN
You can fully design your fleet, immerse yourself in epic naval battles and make crucial strategic decisions on the map with a single goal to defeat your opponents by annihilating their fleets and strangling their economy. The map includes necessary historical and strategic aspects that can simulate actual facts of the period 1890-1940.

abandoned game. bought in prealpha and played alot on it. got this version for steam when game was released. Devs completely abandoned the game and left it unfinished
Bit late to the party but The core game ideas and loop is very fun. The whole designing element of the game is obviously it's standout feature, and I haven't really found another game like it. Campaigns are fun too, if not a little chaotic. However... The dev team discontinuing this leaves it in a state where it's just not ready. This game still has bugs it shouldn't, the UI is atrocious and battles can be tedious to manage the larger they are, and the AI struggles to keep up with both designing competent ships and implementing modern technology onto said ships, making this somewhat of a curb stomp even on legendary when you know what you're doing. I wouldn't buy the game. It had fantastic potential, but with the game no longer receiving updates, it'll never be what it should have been. Mods like DIP do improve some aspects of it (though I find DIP exacerbates the horrific torpedo spam of the AI and makes the game miserable), but overall? You'd best spend your money elsewhere. Also my 1100-ish hours are mostly spent AFK in a screen somewhere in the campaign lol.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The Dev's abandoned the game, don't buy it alot of bugs and issues.
Its abandoned in an unfinished state, but hear me out. Yes, the campaign is kind of a cheap excuse for you to build and upgrade A LOT of ships with big guns and make things explode, but if we're honest, nobody is playing this because of the deepness of the simulated economy. Money makes ships, land makes money, enemy has land, enemy has ships, so ships go boom and money follows, its just that simple. Yes, the campaign is buggy. Yes it tends to crash at times. Yes, QoL is bad. Yes DIP mod is mandatory for the best experience. But lets face it: This game is the most comprehensive ship editor of warships for the 1st half of the 20th century that exists on the market, and the rest of the game is just an excuse to build said ships and make them blow things up properly. Thats what its meant to be and thats what it does extremely well. If you are a naval history nut like me, that alone is just wonderful. If you are interested in the topic, there is now going around this game, for real. There is a really vast amount of ship parts, hulls, systems and customization options, there is tons of tech to research and use. Ships are simulated to an extreme extend. If you look for a polished mainstream product, look elsewhere. If you are able to name all of the Kriegsmarine's WW2 capital ship classes without using google, and wished the Aircraft Carrier had never been invented because its taking away the spotlight from your beautiful dreadnought: Thats a recommendation for you.
Very Good concept and Idea . horrible execution and no support Dead game
All the negative reviews talking about how the developer shut down are missing the point. It's actually a good thing that game labs shut down and heres why. Because there are no more patches this game is now a stable base for modders to pick up where the developers left off. The patches were not good for a long time and generally caused more problems than they solved. I recommend not playing vanilla and using the dreadnought improvement project mod by BrotherMunro.
It's been quite some time since a game made me realize every hour I've spent playing it was completely and utterly wasted and I will never get it back. The gameplay of UA:D mainly consists of a jumble of random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and highly questionable design choices that acts as the mortar binding together a bunch of stuff the des blatantly copied from the game Rule the Waves. To the point where they literally copied and pasted some random event messages. Which is very funny is retrospect because they somehow missed all the context and supporting systems that made those things work in that game. So it all just falls apart in a giant heap of awfulness. If you need any further convincing this game was so bad it essentially killed the studio that made it (along with Ultimate General: American Revolution). I'd recommend avoiding like the plague.
