Total War: ROME REMASTERED lets you relive the legacy that defined the award-winning strategy game series. Remastered to 4K with multiple improvements to visuals as well as refinements to gameplay, it’s time to revisit a true classic. Not everyone gets a second chance to conquer the Roman Empire.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 16 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 21: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Nostalgic with new mechanics included, graphics aside, the importance of skirmish units are better on this one than the vanilla one.
After playing this, I realised how much better this is than Rome 2 and every other TW games after that
好玩
Un juegazo que descubrí en mi juventud y me enamoro de todos los TOTAL WAR.
mod好少
I would very strongly recommend this game to nearly anyone with an interest in, or love of strategy games, and are looking to try a Total War game for the first time. The original Rome Total War was, in the opinion of a player of the majority of the Total War Franchise, one of the most iconic yet approachable gameplay experiences for strategy enthusiasts and novices alike. Its really one of the least glamorous experiences in the entire franchise, with stripped-down technical depth, linear gameplay, functionally no world events, and respectively outright primitive A.I player intelligence. The type of predictable, linear challenges to overcome in this earlier game from the studio make Rome Total War an ideal starting point to enter the franchise. At the higher difficulties, due to sheer enemy overwhelm and high-stakes choices in short turn numbers, despite lacking much in the way of those complex mechanics or nuances that have become staples in most of the later releases, the game maintains significant strategic depth even for more experienced players. Its still worth trying for the more seasoned Total War player as well; the stripped-down experience can reveal errors in core gameplay mechanics that are unobscured by reliance on, or being overshadowed by, the various gameplay gimmicks in other releases. This remastered version captures the original game's visage near-perfectly, while also including some of the many improvements to the genre, the graphics, and the software that have come along in the decades since. The expansion Barbarian Invasion features the Nomadic civilizations; which are amongst the most challenging Campaign gameplay variants I've encountered in 20 years of playing various Total War titles. The Alexander Expansion is perfectly fine, nothing terribly exciting, but a fine addition to an otherwise well-rounded game.
