THE BEST TIMEZONE GAME EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing g ame. 100% true to original Genki format. No extras no nonsense . Pure highway battle fun
Genki is your favorite studio's favorite studio. No AAA or online only slop and only a few major changes to the original TXR formula. Great game
Englisch Version Down below. Englisch version. So the classic is back, and version 1.0 is even worse than the original. Genki proves that they just don’t have what it takes anymore like they did in their old games. But let’s start from the beginning. First and foremost, you should be warned against buying this game right now, because the opponent AI is an absolute nightmare. What’s going on is really no fun, and you’d better be frustration-resistant at the moment. The story is pretty simple: You’re the new kid on the Expressway and the future rising star of the racing scene. Of course, you first have to fight your way through the established veterans to reach the top. That’s pretty much it. The graphics are good and adequate. Unfortunately, the game has serious performance issues with regular long freezes outside the main track. I really don’t understand why, since there’s hardly anything around the Expressway that would justify such performance issues. The selection of cars is okay and could be a bit larger, but the JDM models are definitely well-represented. The tuning could also use more parts for the cars, since three parts is the maximum you have to choose from in each category. No body kits or other special extras like different exhausts, headlights/taillights, or window tints. Except for auras that you can unlock if you defeat an opponent with that specific one. Unfortunately, here comes the absolute game-breaker that makes the game unplayable—unless you have a very high frustration threshold: the enemy AI. You might think there isn’t much you can do wrong here, but everything that used to be annoying is now the norm. After Act 1, you’ll increasingly encounter enemies that use Super Grip, Mega Aggressive, and Wall Rides. What does that mean exactly? Super Grip should be obvious. The physics for cornering only apply to the player, while enemies tear through the corners at top speed. This happens regularly toward the end, which is really annoying. The AI also becomes Mega Aggressive. Forcing the player into traffic or ramming them becomes a habit. It doesn’t sound too bad in itself if there weren’t a Perfect Race bonus. As soon as your SP bar loses even a single point, the bonus is gone—and it’s not insignificant at the start. It happens less with cars that can pass quickly at the start, but it’s always there. The worst part, though, are the wall rides—especially in Act 1, they get really out of control because you have no chance of keeping up with your car. This is also exacerbated by an AI safeguard that prevents opponents from dropping below a certain SP value through wall rides. So Genki is aware of the problem but couldn’t care less. Fortunately, this becomes less of an issue later on and more of an advantage, but right at the start, it’s a real fun killer. Summary: A classic racing game from the early 2000s that, for once, doesn't try to keep you hooked with a massive open world, but instead puts simple driving and having fun first. Provided the AI gets fixed, of course.
