About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

game is good. its great even. I just don't like the fact that I have to wait 5 - 10 for shaders to compile. it's actually turned me off the game several times now when I had every intent to play it.
The main story was a bit shorter than I expected. But overall I had as much fun as on the first game. I can recommend it to anyone seeking a chill game in space.
I have seen others, even fans of the first game, be very harsh in their reviews of this game. I didn't get it until the 1.2 update, so I can't speak to its quality before then, but I love this game. I find the companions more consistent than the first game, every single one had a story I quite enjoyed and distinct mechanical quirks to build around. Massive improvement from the previous game in this regard, I loved my crew. Story is really solid, I felt that the factions were more distinct, all had things to say about corporate grift, bootstrap-ism, autocracy, religion, academia, and compliance. I enjoyed that we had companions even from the blatantly evil factions, with their own reasons for breaking with their former allies that you need to be careful of running foul of (without it feeling oppressive). Both of them were very pleasant surprises. Main story provides a lot of interesting directions to take, and that's with my self imposed 0 speech run! I'm excited to do a second run with high speech, I think it will be ridiculously different. I had to be very careful this entire run in order to not get on peoples bad side, because I could not talk my way out of a jaywalking charge. My next run I plan on getting away with murder! That being said I was not punished for my lack of charisma, I just had to be careful as it was easier to get bad ends of quests if you arn't careful to keep people from getting mad at you, because you can not deescalate with 0 speech. Gameplay is awesome. I went stealth guns observant focused, very good at sniping with the wide array of diverse rifles at your fingertips in the mid-late game, or taking you out with a silenced revolver (or shotgun!). I really enjoyed it, armor and weapon selection is not only compelling, but very high stakes in higher difficulties. My one gripe is probably that this game has a similar problem to the first, that the first 20% of the game feels like a mad search for a decent weapon for your build. Having played the first, I just set the difficulty to normal until I had a kit I enjoyed, and then switched to hard, I would recommend this for your first playthrough. The game is beautiful and ugly, both intentionally and both in ways that delighted me. It doesn't run well on my aging gpu, but it ran fine, no major complaints. Would have probably run a lot better at 1080p but I decided to keep my native 1440 and just deal with some dips. I held 40fps mostly, which was fine with me, the models and world where awesome, the people and the stone textures being standout improvements from the first game, both went from ok to some of the best I have seen. The conversations have some really impressive micro acting choices, hand gestures, sneers, and eye movements, the sort of expressiveness that is not often captured in games with worse human models. Voice acting is good, there were several really good performance and none that were bad enough that they took me out of the experience. The music was the standout of the vocal performances tho, and each faction having more than a couple full length songs did a lot to bring you into the heads of those that live there. I loved that you hear goons singing the jingles or hymns of their factions, and I have found myself with multiple of the songs stuck in my head. The jingles are genuinely excruciating to get stuck in your head, which does a great job of making you hate the oppressive ♥♥♥♥♥ who blare them out of advertising drones. They are also often really funny! The math songs are my favorite, the fact that you can hear the emotion in the choirs voices when singing about how Pi is beautiful sells their weird faction's heart and sometimes blinding sincerity so well, made me love them. Also the math innuendo song is great. I am baffled by the other reviews. I suppose I am likely biased, I am an admitted Obsidian fanboy, but what really confuses me is fans of the first game that didn't like this one. I am MUCH more likely to recommend this game to my friends rather than the first. I liked the first game a lot, and its DLC even more, but it had some sharp edges gameplay, exploration, and tone wise that made it kinda hard to recommend to people not already fans of the devs. This game solves nearly all of my problems with the first, I will heartily recommend it to friends. TLDR: All being said, I loved the game, might crack my top 15 of all time. Up there with Cyberpunk when it comes to masterpeices in scifi rpgs, frankly I think the two have a lot of the same strengths of ambition and fun, with this game having less drawbacks, but also less content and big budget flare. The first game was really good, especially after the DLC, but this game is great. It has the heart and the humor of the first, with the polish and substance to pull of what it is going for better. As before, would recommend not setting to hard until you find a weapon you like, but that's a small gripe. Wonderful game, I will likely do another play-though even before the DLC comes out!
After several weeks of playing the game off and on, I was finally able to complete a full playthrough... As much flack as I tend to see online regarding the quality of this game, I honestly enjoyed most of my time playing it... If I had to give it a number score, I'ld say it's a 7 out of 10... But I would not pay full price for this game, and would recommend waiting for a sale (not necessarily a big sale, but I still think 80 buckaroos is a bit much)... Graphics wise, this game isn't that bad, even though I'm not playing on a top of the line PC system... The graphical style tends to sway towards a more cartoonish theme, but even then I find it works well for the overall theme of the game world... I never ran into lag issues or experienced any other graphical flaws (i.e. tearing or fps hits, etc). As this is a sequel game, it has some shoes to fill for those who enjoyed the first title... All in all, the game felt like it stayed true to the overall themes and tropes of the first title... In some cases, it does take on some more serious story beats in comparison to the first games more satirical leanings... The main story I felt was compelling enough to be satisfying while being a tiny bit generic... I enjoyed the side content, and especially some of the companion story arcs far more then the main story itself... That doesn't mean the main story is bad, as I liked the flip flopping between the 2 main factions... As to the companions themselves, I found that they are bit of a mixed-bag... When it comes to their story content, some felt a bit short and/or lack luster, while others seemed far more fleshed out and involved... As an example, your first two companions, Valerie's dialogue tended to be more comedy leaning yet her story content was little to non-existent... Niles on the other hand was more fleshed out, yet his story content ended early in the games lifespan, and once his content was done he didn't have much to say, even when you had him tag along... At first I felt like Niles was going to have lots to say throughout the game, especially since it seemed like you had a larger personal connection to him, but that was not the case... Aza's story was very short lived and felt small, and the same goes for Tristan... Inez and Marisol though, they were always chiming in, even after their direct story content was completed... It just felt like they had more stakes in the game, being that they were both from the two main factions within the main story and side content (Inez from Auntie's Choice and Marisol from the Order)... And I know some folks are curious, and so I'll nip it in the bud right away... No, you can not romance any of the companions, at least not from anything I could tell... You can be buddies and friends of sorts, but never anything remotely romantic... The game play itself, was you're typical First-Person/Third-Person Shooter, with some RPG styled elements... You gain skill points and perk points to spend as you level up... You can gain Flaws based on things you do in the game, and your playstyle... The flaws are completely optional, as they give some sort of boon with a negative trade-off... It was recommended by many to not take flaws on your first playthrough, but it is entirely up to you... I took a couple myself... Perks are all positive effects on your game play, but many do have pre-requisites based mostly on skill levels... Character creation is decent, yet mostly made up of pre-determined visual choices, unlike some of the more modern RPG games that involve lots of sliders and what not... The background is mostly a RP choice that on rare occasion may lead to a dialogue choice... When selecting your initial Skills/Perks and maybe even a flaw, be aware, that those things are permanent... Same when you spend Skill Points and Perk Points, and/or chose to have flaws as they are presented to you... They can not be changed, and with a level cap of 30, there is a hard limit... Now, there are some items I did find a bit lacking... The ending was one of them... Without spoiling too much, the ending of the game can be effected by earlier choices, as well as be influenced by Skills and content you discover as you play and explore the game... For my playthrough, I felt as though I was failing to convince the end-boss with the dialogue choices I was selecting, and yet, on one of the last choices, suddenly it seemed to go in my favor, even though up until that point, I didn't feel like anything I was selecting was working at all... I'm unsure if that is because of poor writing or what... Because it didn't seem as though the selection I had made should have been such a 180 degree turn on the discussion, that seemed to be failing up to that point... In any case, it felt a bit un-natural, dialogue wise... Now, my choices led to a non-confrontational ending with the end-boss, which was my goal... Yet, honestly, it felt a bit anti-climatic because when the final ending happened, and the narrative results began to explain away what transpired due to all the choices I had made through out the game, the ending just felt flat... The music didn't present anything end-game worthy, and although it went over all in's and out's of the factions, the companions, and the so on... It didn't really go over where your character was left, what your future held, or really anything to do with your character directly... Sure, it's nice to see the results of your choices effects on the game-verse, but what happened to my toon when it came to all these outcomes? I just felt abandoned for a universe synopsis followed by rolling credits with standard boring music, leaving a sense of dis-satisfaction... I do feel they kind of missed an opportunity with the ending... I still say the game is worth giving a go, even with it's flaws... I mostly liked the side stories and companion story arcs (and the main story was o.k.), plus I enjoyed the overall game play... But I do not recommend paying the full un-discounted price for it...
Miles better than the first game, very fun, still could do with being longer though
Most fun I have had in a while.
Technically, this game doesn't really do anything wrong as a Fallout alternative. Except actually has no characters per se, thus making everything else feel hollow. Can't really have that type of game work great without some Fallout: New Vegas 'Easy Pete' type of characters. The Outer Worlds 2 feels like a theater, and I don't really give a ♥♥♥♥ about theaters. Poor performance.
New Vegas без возможности играть за Легион Цезаря.
