The Old City: Leviathan is an experiment in first person exploration that focuses entirely on story. All that exists is you and the world. Set in a decaying city from a civilization long past, The Old City: Leviathan puts the player in the shoes of a sewer dwelling isolationist.

I can't believe I paid money for this. Final Score 2/10 Pretentious writing. Even more pretentious narration. A story that never happens. Locked to moving forward at a slow pace. You have to read really lengthy and badly written "notes" outside of the game experience to even get some understanding of the game's lore. Which isn't good. Imagine a hipster at a poetry slam event that's also high trying to talk about grand ideas. That's what this feels like. Except the hipster doesn't even talk most of the time. And he asks you to read his 50 page diary. Music was ok but overall sound design negligible. holy moly....
I don't know if I'm smart enough to enjoy this game. You just wander aimlessly listening to someone soliloquy about random stuff, read a few notes about random stuff, wander more, then the "level" ends. If you're lucky you found a hidden note that is like 60 pages long. I'm not asking for my money back because 1: I paid $6 for this, and 2: it's not "bad" per se, just not for me.
Waste of time. Boring.
The environment is interesting, but there is essentially no real game here. I'm not against walking simulator style games with story, but the story here is thin and you have to assemble it yourself. I don't know. Perhaps if there was SOME simple activity or goal as you explored it would make the world feel less empty. I can appreciate the artistic value of this world, but I didn't enjoy playing it.
Had no idea what the hell was going on. I liked it though.
Short game. One of my favorite walking sims. The atmosphere is dream like and the narration feels very existential. This is one of those games that some people will love, and others will hate. If you get it, you get it. If you don't, you don't. Well made.
Need a surreal change of pace? Don't come to this expecting to know everything, thats not the point. Just enjoy the journey
I like this game. The artistic detail is over the top great. It is a walking sim, so those that don't like them need not apply. But if you love a story and exploration this one will be right up there at the top.
I do not recommend this game, even if it is on sale. The only controls are to walk, walk ever-so-slightly faster, and open doors. All you do is listen to some guy ramble about nothing. The only remotely "good" part about this game are the visuals but that does not make this hour long game worth any price. Even if it was free, I would not recommend.
