Regretful purchase I made about 10 years ago. It's just a walking sim.
i think i've got lost
I can't believe I paid money for this. Final Score 2/10 Pretentious writing. Even more pretentious narration. A story that never happens. Locked to moving forward at a slow pace. You have to read really lengthy and badly written "notes" outside of the game experience to even get some understanding of the game's lore. Which isn't good. Imagine a hipster at a poetry slam event that's also high trying to talk about grand ideas. That's what this feels like. Except the hipster doesn't even talk most of the time. And he asks you to read his 50 page diary. Music was ok but overall sound design negligible. holy moly....

Had no idea what the hell was going on. I liked it though.
Developed by PostMod Softworks, The Old City is a good walking sim, if you're up to a cryptic story and vibe. I loved the environments and how surreal they look, but couldn't overcome the fact that there is more to say about this world that we haven't been told. It runs perfectly fine on Steam Deck as you can see by pressing the link below: https://youtu.be/MuRzusq3Vvs
what a good game this is and the storys and the imersiveness of the game and everything about it was awsome
A walking simulator that moves along at its own pace. The artwork is captivating and the soundtrack is haunting. The world that you explore is depressing and, at times, quite gruesome but at the same time hauntingly beautiful. You learn more about the world by listening to narration and by reading notes and diaries. Thinking and feeling are your primary tools in piecing together the narrative of a man finding his way out of the depths of madness. If you have more than a passing interest in philosophy or literature, this game will give you something to ponder. I highly recommend it.
2/10
Walking simulator contemplatif the world as an in-story that got you in it
