Civil war has broken out across Erebonia. After his narrow escape from Trista, Rean will take up his sword again on a journey with his Divine Knight, Valimar, in search of his friends from Class VII and a way to end the conflict before its price becomes far too dear...

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

honestly, better than the first, not because its that much different but the main battle theme is just SUPERB for the setting of the game, rean is understandably moody for the first few hours and emotionally unstable (as he should be) and it offered a ton of twists and turns only negative thing i will say is: just like in CS1, why the hell was speed up/turbo mode not availeble as a press on/off toggle!? the amount of strain my index finger had my god

Following Cold Steel 1's vast improvements over the prior 5 Trails games was definitely a hard task, and while this game does fall short in a few areas, it keeps the momentum from the first game. It's fairly easy to tell that this game was intended to be part of the first at certain points, though personally I believe that it benefits more from being standalone. The story, while filled with strong moments, does tend to stall in the first half. There's many moments that feel like that don't really advance the story that much, or feel like they exist due to needing the game to be a specific length. Overall though, the story is strong, and the ending was better than the 1st Cold Steel's. The improved gameplay from the first is further polished, with three new major mechanics. First is the smallest, Lost Arts. By defeating borderline super-bosses, you gain special quartz that give you massively powerful attacks that're fun to use. Second is Overdrive, another ARCUS-related feature that allows for fun little combos in battle without having to invest too much. Finally, the Divine Knight/Panzer Soldat battles. Personally, I'm not really the biggest fan of the non-core story oriented ones, and that includes the following games as well. However, I can't deny how much I enjoy the hype moments and aura at times. While Cold Steel 1 is better on average, this game improves the core gameplay at the cost of the story at times. Despite being arguably the least good Cold Steel game, it's still strong, and I would recommend it.
This one is pretty meh/ok. The game picks up right after the last one, and you gotta recover EVERYTHING you lost. Which wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't for the terrible pacing. Not as bad as CS4, but still pretty bad. The structure of the early-mid game is very repetitive with the whole recruitment schtick. The whole massive civil war thing doesn't really feel all that imposing and dramatic. The new overdrive mechanic is pretty fun to use since it's busted as hell. I really do not like the whole rock-paper-scissor mecha battles in general. Class VII feels much better in this game compared to the last one, as we see them as characters and not as much as students. The final section of the game was good besides the very last dungeon, as it felt a little too long and generic. Overall 7/10. 3rd worst CS game, but still pretty good.
