A very big disappointment so far. I'll probably keep on playing for nostalgia's sake, but all they seem to have focused on is some graphical upgrades. Its the same oblivion you can play in the original and feel the true nostalgia! The only upgrade I hope to experience is the new levelling system, other than that it all feels cheaper and crappier. Like from picking alchemy ingredients, which sort of disappear into thin air mario style, through the animations of the character in third person which glitches (he starts to run from idle progressively faster in terms of animation, but the speed of movement is constant). the worst of it all is the menus they changed it but did not change it. they thought they are leaving the original 'feel' but they made everything harder to access. no obvious shortcut for inventory, only 8 shortcut slots for spells. by the time I left the frickin tunnels I got more spells than space on that bar, meaning what in battle I just go to the menu each time to change spells? and click through like 5 menus just to get to spells? spells also have no information abou their effects in the spell menu too, you have to go to a shop to see how much damage they do (only on new spells). the whole game mechanics from persuasion in shops - if you want to be efficient as any class you end up speaking nonsense to every shopkeeper you first interact with - but you do not know the effect of that on your prices because the barter mechanic seems to have been removed. the graphics did make me want to take a stroll for like 2 minutes outside of the dungeon but soon you get bored of it all, mostly because most of the new flora you cannot interact with. all the skyrim butterflies and dragonflies and such were added but they are just passive animations, no new content of course (which I kinda get, but feels really cheap, like a semi-decent modder could have done what they have done here for free). the physics is even worse. in original I vividly remember hitting a corpse with a sword would cause it to ragdoll a bit, but here, no it just slices air regardless how close you are to it. And in the recreation I remember I played the original dungeon with the emperor like 50+ times (never could pick a class :D), so I can tell you what they changed. they added nothing new, but removed several secret stashes, possibly replaced with a few new (haven't found more than 1 that I would be surprised by), so I'd expect same throughout the game. overall very poor experience and my exact problem with these remakes. I'd say they are not aimed at us - nostalgia players - they are aimed at the young people who know of these 'classic' games but are too attached to easy gameplay mechanics and fancy graphics and being led by hand to play them, so when they get a 'remaster' they are more likely to enjoy it... so for all of us 30+ year olds, back to work, life and best leave memories where they are cherished, in my past. :) thanks for reading
I have tried and tried to get into it. Love Morrowind, OG Oblivion and Skyrim. The world improvements are good, but everything else lacks inspiration and imagination, or more correctly strives to not inspire. After playing a while it is clear that some of the creators actively have uglified, washed out and changed things around, especilally the NPCs which create a much stronger "uncanny valley" feeling than the potato monsters in the original ever did. Once you notice that it is intentional you cannot unsee it. Your epic journey becomes degraded to an attempt to "not notice". Tried mods to fix it but not many exist. Too much work for too little gain. Stay with the original version.
thumbs up
crashiest game i have ever owned
Have you heard of the high elves ?
Honestly I don't get the complaints, the game runs good, the graphics look beautiful and gives me hope for future elder scroll games and its still got the hilarious game bugs and glitch's but not too many that make the game unplayable. I feel people complain just to complain now, probably not worth the $50 but still not horrible, I would've done 30 or 20 sense it is just a remastered but I'd probably just wait for a discount as you wont miss much waiting.
great!
performans sorunları çok göze batıyor
I would of give this game a 10/10 as the remaster is amazing, but i played 75 hours of this game just for my saves to completley disapear off of my pc. This has happend with none of my other games, i have game saves from 7 years ago that are still here from other games but for some reason Oblivion just decided to delete all my data. Unreal.
Still crashing like in the old days
