An amazing visual update that leaves core gameplay completely in tact so you get the original experience with none of the classic drawbacks, solid 8.5/10
pourquoi faire des bouches aussi énormes ? je ne comprendrais jamais
Nice graphical upgrade in the remaster, but if you don't have a top tier machine you'll probably suffer with this game, its baseclly unplayable, a very bad pc port. The game itself looks interesting... idk i beraly tested it because crached all the time. Skyrim was the first TES i ever played, so trying Oblivion felt very slow and hard to get into. For enyone doing the same as me, dont let the amazing graphics foolyou, it's still a 2006 rpg and its clearly dated, interactions feels charismatic but also lifeless and robotic, kinda hard to explain, some mechanics are very annoying and the way your character develops feels weird. If i were you, my loyal reader, i would not buy this game. Just open Skyrim again, bro.
Gosh I love this game... While the colors are not as bright as the original, this is most certainly a faith remaster of the classic Oblivion. I am a huge elder scrolls fan,( been playing since morrowind came out), so this game had high expectations to fill. however i will say... it is quite spotty on steam deck even though it is verified. its absolutely playable and i played mostly on steam deck, but expect an occasional crash or slow loading. there are a couple places on the map i avoid because it will 100% crash my game lol. but the game looks beautiful even with the specs turned down for steam deck. i just got a gaming pc and will be seeing it in all of its glory soon. but of course if you loved skyrim you will love oblivion, as i know a lot of people were introduced to skyrim first. i highly recommend this game, its beautiful, its fun, and in my opinion the best story line of all the elder scrolls games. it also has the best guild quests of the series.
caca
I love this game. However, I do not like that some days I can play it and other days there is an unexplainable and apparently irreconcilable unreal engine crash that can't be fixed.
Oblivion Remastered is, visually, a gorgeous remaster. Sadly, it is littered with some out-of-touch and unnecessary changes, with unacceptable and unaddressed performance issues. I'd recommend it over the original if you're willing to use mods. The levelling changes were very welcome, but other related problems such as levelled unique items and enemy scaling are completely untouched for some reason. These were always Oblivion's worst aspects and are objectively design flaws. You can fix these issues with mods, but the fact they remain is baffling given the developers were aware of levelling efficiency issues. Sprint was an unnecessary addition and the animation is horrible. I'd recommend unbinding this and pretending it doesn't exist. The athletics skill and speed attribute exist for a reason.
Great adaptation and update of the original with mods available to tailor to taste.
If you get it to run properly, its great.
