The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

It's a meaningful remaster which retains the charm of the original. But the lack of mod support is...astronomically baffling. I still give it a thumbs up though as the core Oblivion experience is still one-of-a-kind, even if the combat and voice acting is alarmingly dated.

**This game is a scam. Do NOT buy it!** I was incredibly excited to play *Oblivion Remastered*. After finally getting some free time, I bought it without doing enough research because I ignored the negative reviews. Big mistake. Here's the reality: **the game stutters constantly, even on high-end PCs.** This isn't an FPS issue. I get 60+ FPS, even in demanding areas, yet the game freezes and hitches every few seconds whenever I'm outside. Dungeons, houses, and interiors are mostly fine, but the open world is a stuttering mess that completely ruins the experience. After digging into the issue, I discovered that Bethesda has barely addressed this problem since the game's release in 2025. I tried every fix I could find, including mods. They made a tiny improvement, but the constant stuttering is still there. It doesn't matter whether you're getting 45 FPS or 120 FPS—if the game constantly freezes for split seconds, it's simply not enjoyable. Don't just take my word for it. Search YouTube for "Oblivion Remastered stuttering," and you'll find countless videos showing the exact same issue. There are also plenty of "fix" videos claiming to solve it, but most conveniently avoid showing the areas where the problem is actually the worst. Many of them give players false hope. What frustrates me the most is that my PC meets the recommended system requirements. I don't expect ultra settings, but I do expect a smooth experience, especially on low settings with demanding features disabled. Instead, I get high FPS combined with constant stuttering. This feels like an unfinished product. If a painter leaves part of a house unpainted, they can't honestly call the job finished. Yet game companies can release products with serious performance issues and charge full price. I genuinely feel scammed.

Its Oblivion made modern but with its old quirks. What's not to like?

Would sure be nice if Bethesda had official mod support, but after several patches, the game works beautifully and makes subtle improvements on the original's gameplay - making it more than just a graphical facelift for such a nostalgia-inducing game.

This is a beautiful remaster and I love the additional integrations they have made with the mechanics. Whatever magic they are pulling with the duel engine setup..most likely using AI..like Halo..Fallout remakes etc.. don't care if it's AI, if it works than I'm all for it. Though all because this game was a contractual project with Virtous..Microsoft just let the studio walk away and left the game abandoned is extremely BS in less than a year. No mod support and no response from anyone on what is going on with the game is beyond unprofessional. I like the game and highly recommend it...though make sure you have a decent system to run it. ;)

If you buy this game it probably wont launch and if it does make sure you don't do the dream quest it totally makes it so you cant open thee game
