The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

It is Oblivion with a shinier coat of paint, which also means the issues with the original game will be here too. (copy and pasted dungeons eugh) But despite that, I still love the original for it's charm. And I'm actually impressed they kept that charm to a large degree here, minus the color grading. So why did I give a thumbs down? Because the performance is absolutely abysmal, which is a shame because I really wanted to enjoy this. I'd honestly recommend a lightly modded OG Oblivion list which fixes all of the problems of the original, with the added bonus of it being able to run without burning down your house.

Bought it because of nostalgia. I loved the original. It’s essentially the same game, just with a few quality-of-life improvements and a fresh new look. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend it due to the awful performance. It’s a real shame, because I really wanted to revisit Cyrodiil, but the stuttering is ruining my enjoyment. It runs fine in dungeons, but the open world is a mess.

As great as the game looks. The performance is abysmal, full of memory leaks and stutters. And while they tried to make some of the things more modern like the animations, it still feels like a bugthesda game but with UE5 sprinkled untop. I can only recommend this game if you have a NASA PC or are willing to suffer trough it's glitches and issues like i am.

It LOOKS a lot better than the OG but that's about it. All the old bugs are still here, it runs terribly (thanks UE5), and we've even added new bugs to compensate for years of missed time. There are some mild improvements (mostly to the broken leveling system from the original) but nothing to warrant an increased price tag. You should just get the original and watch a youtube video on how to properly add mods to it. All the tweaking this version did was already done by mods years ago, so the only improvement you're getting here is that the people don't resemble potatoes anymore. Also, no support in over a year basically confirms they'll never fix the performance issues. Nostalgia cash grab that I'm moderately irritated that I fell for.

save your money and just play the original. this is broken abandonware made on unoptimized engine 4. bethesda is not going to put this dumpster fire out

Biased review from a Bethesda slut. I loved it, it looked amazing and played the exact same as OG Oblivion. However, once I got to the Shivering Isles, the game was damn near unplayable. Could be better now, but I think Beth has only updated once or twice. Still recommend, 10/10.

For some reason the game is very buggy and needs to be fixed. It is not running like it should.

Oblivion is still buggy and now it is abandoned. I'm getting crashes while going through locked doors and I'm done trying things to keep going. It was nostalgia that keep me playing, I would not have enjoyed this game at all if I had not played it when it came out, it was not a very good game to begin with.
