I am a huge fan of automation games and colony sims. This one at first glance looks like a promising Satisfactory and Occupy Mars hybrid. But after 15 hours of play I just can't enjoy it - it's too clunky and unpolished. For instance, I finished researching a programmable splitter but just couldn't find a way to actually make it work. There's no tutorial entry for the splitter or even any helpful tooltips. I got a feeling the dev team has a massive backlog of really cool ideas, but just lack the resources and/or abilities to deliver. Satisfactory had been in Early Access for almost 4 years. I guess The Crust team just don't have that amount of investors money. Will give it another try after v1.0, but for now it's thumb down. P.s.
At some early point in the game you are given an unskippable timed mission. Failure to complete it is a game over. Completing it in turn starts ANOTHER timed quest chain with VERY steep requirements. This feels totally unnecessary and rather cheap attempt to create artificial suspense. Timed missions are ok in automation games, BUT only if they are optional. I prefer to carefully plan my factory, not to rush it just because the devs couldn't invent an interesting story,
Fun game and good challenges.
A great hybrid of Factorio and Surviving Mars with a slight sprinkling of Anno concepts added.
absolutely infuriating game play. I hope the problem is just it is beta and buggy but if going around manually repairing everything and scanning non stop is how the game is intended to play it is down right horrible. would return but between playing for 2.6 hours and getting as a bundle it is not possible. do not buy
Satisfactory on the moon from a non-first person perspective with quests and a main story
That's way too cheap for such a great game—even if it's not quite finished yet =) I bought the developers a coffee via the Supporter Pack; we're waiting for the 1.0 release.
