Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 31.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very nice gunplay and combat, great worldbuilding, and the taxi system fixes just about all the old 'too much backtracking' problems i had with this game in the past. HOWEVER. The entire game works great when your character is centered on the screen and the camera is sufficiently zoomed out. This is FREQUENTLY ruined by weird zoom ins so you have no visibility on enemies actively already shooting you, or the character offset all the way to one side of the screen so there is no visibility for enemies on that side, and so on. That one building with a REALLY tight zoom in on your character and you still have to fight a bunch of enemies you can only aim at by trying to gauge where they are on your radar - who decided this? It really feels like for some reason all the combat, graphics, models, textures, lighting etc were done by professionals, and then they had some random bloke off the street have final say on the cameras. I feel bad for the people who did the rest of the game to such a high quality - their work is really shot in the leg by whoever decided on these random atrocious camera changes. All the game balance and gameplay tuning, to me, is clearly tuned for the 'diagonal view, zoomed out, character in center' view and works great there - bullet timing, rocket timing, dodge timing, everything. The CAMERA really brings down the whole game from great to just good.
This game is honestly incredible. What a find. I cant even begin to describe how good this game is, but it does indeed have some small flaws. Pros: Graphics - This game is gorgeous. It is unbelivably detailed. Half the time I want to boot up the game just to run around and explore the world as it is rich and dense with NPC's all living and breathing as you move around. The details in the effects, buildings, weapons, gear. Everything is highly detailed and looks really good, dark and gritty. World Building - This game has insane world building. As mentioned before, the level of detail is through the roof. Everything has a purpose, thousands of npc's through the world. Plenty to talk to and learn about. There are TV ads playing to give more detail about the world as well. Cyberpunk dystopian future galore here, it is perfect. Gameplay - This game is so fun as a twin stick style shooter, with RPG elements and gear hunting / building maxxing. Tons of skills to invest points in, plenty of weapons to use for different scenarios. Plenty of weapons to upgrade. There are augmentations for your character as well, giving them different skills to use in combat. This game has it all and will keep you very busy. Music - ♥♥♥♥ the music is so good. Every single sound track gives you the exact feeling you want to have when exploring a world like this. That cyberpunk style music with the occasional metal riff, its too dam good. The ambient music when exploring certain areas while calmer also hits very well. Story - So far the story is pretty interesting I will say. I wouldnt say it will knock you out the park but its a good cyberpunk esque story with alot of corpotation quests and sabotage. Mix in some betrayl every now and then. Its pretty good. The side missions are fairly simple though. More on that later. Online co-op - The game has seamless co-op which is nice. Playing this game with a friend is highly recommended. Cons: Bugs/Glitches/Crashes - The game has some bugs for sure. Main issue is the crashes. It seems to crash atleast once during a play session. I dont know if this is a strictly co-op thing, as i only played co-op, but we did experience atleast 1 crash per session. Its unfortunate, because the game is amazing and you want to keep playing but that can be annoying to experience. Thankfully save states in the game are very well done so you dont lose much if any progress at all in the event of a crash, but its still annoying. Map/Travel System - There is a "fast travel" system in this game but its overly complicated and a pain to use. Luckily the world is so amazing to explore i rather just run. The map is terrible in this game and again, overly complicated. Multi tier designed map that looks messy and ultimately just leads to you rather wanting to memorize everything than look and use the map. Overall the Ascent is a great game if you want a cyberpunk, bladerunner style feel/world with exceptional gameplay, plenty of customization and a great co-op experience with a friend. Thanks for reading.
Neon Giant have truly cemented their reputation with this title, crafting an experience that pulses with ambition. Their dedication to delivering a robust and engaging game shines through every facet, marking a commendable milestone in their creative journey of bringing a cyberpunk vision to life. The Ascent itself contains a mad dash of digital frenzy. Dropping into a futuristic chaos factory, this game grabs you by the circuits and demands your full attention. The gameplay delivers relentless action mixed with solid tactical layers, a proper cocktail of intensity and control that keeps the pulse racing.
GAMEPLAY MECHANICS
The gameplay strikes a fine balance between complexity and accessibility, providing controls that feel intuitive while still offering layers of depth for players who enjoy mastering systems. Combat flows smoothly, and the progression elements encourage thoughtful engagement without overwhelming, ensuring a satisfying pace throughout. It’s the kind of experience that lets you dive right in yet rewards those who like to tinker with builds and strategies, no need for a PhD in cybernetics to enjoy yourself, but if you do have one, well, even better.
VISUALS
Visually, the game is a feast for the eyes. An added bonus is the native support for ultra-wide monitors, particularly the 21:9 aspect ratio, enhancing the panoramic scope and enhances immersion by expanding the field of view elegantly. The environments are rich in detail, while the lighting and effects contribute to an aesthetically cohesive presentation. From gleaming skyscrapers dripping in neon to grimy back alleys soaked in rain, it all comes together with such style that even your avatar might stop mid-mission just to admire the view (or pretend to, anyway).
AUDIO
The audio design complements the visual prowess effectively, whether it’s through pulsing music during intense encounters or subtle ambient noises when exploring quieter areas. Sound effects carry weight and clarity, and the soundtrack matches the intensity and mood of the gameplay scenarios without becoming intrusive. Dialogue delivery maintains an appropriate tone, clear and compelling, further enriching the narrative texture, reinforcing narrative elements seamlessly. Occasionally, you might catch yourself bobbing along to the synth beats while dodging death-multitasking at its finest.
ATMOSPHERE
Atmosphere is crafted with a keen eye toward consistency, offering a setting that feels alive and compelling. There is a distinct tone throughout that draws players into the game's world, inviting exploration and investment in its unfolding events with steady confidence. The bustling cityscape hums with a sort of electric anticipation, as if danger and opportunity are perpetually neck-and-neck in a race, and you’re always the wildcard who might tip the scales.
MULTIPLAYER
Multiplayer aspects function with reliability, providing engaging cooperative opportunities that add value to the experience. Matchmaking is smooth here and there, and sessions run with minimal interruptions, making it a dependable choice for those seeking shared challenges. Jumping into the fray with friends (or brave strangers) turns threats into teamwork, and nothing quite beats the satisfying chaos of watching a squad wipe out spectacularly - then dusting yourselves off and trying again, because hey, persistence is cybernetic.
CHARACTER CUSTOMISATION
Character customisation is thoughtfully implemented, allowing for personal expression without becoming an exercise in excess. Options are varied enough to cater to different player preferences, supporting both functionality and style in equal measure. Whether you’re loading up on shiny cybernetic limbs or rocking headgear that glows brighter than your future, there’s plenty to make your digital self stand out.
REPLAYABILITY
Replayability benefits from multiple avenues, including varied mission approaches and the potential to refine strategies. While the core loops remain consistent, the game presents enough incentives to revisit its world and hone skills over time. Whether you prefer to sneak past enemies, go in guns blazing, or experiment with builds that make your foes question reality, there are always fresh angles to explore. Plus, the loot and missions offers that little extra thrill.
THE LOWDOWN
In sum, this game represents a carefully balanced package that delivers solid entertainment across diverse areas. Neon Giant’s craftsmanship is evident in how all components coalesce to form a cohesive whole. Although there are moments where pacing could have been tighter and occasional technical quirks arise, they do little to detract from the overall enjoyment. For anyone looking to dive into a world brimming with calculated action and thoughtful design, this title offers a worthwhile venture. Consider it a climb to the peak of engaging gameplay, where every step counts and the thrill never truly… descends.
The visual are stunning, the music is passable and it really feels like a cyberpunk game. The downside is everything else: the story, the bullet sponge enemies, the underwhelming weapon upgrades, the clothes and the list can go on.
Hi. I'm sharing my "The Ascent" walkthrough with my friend StartFunny at https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL957yPFpIoy8TNurrFr1L_4I1hAljNtnB&si=_0LrArq3uC9_L5zG Summary: The Ascent is a cyberpunk action RPG set on the planet Veles, where humanity lives under the control of a massive megacorporation known as "The Ascent Group". We take on the role of an indent, a worker bound by corporate servitude, whose life is thrown into chaos when the corporation suddenly collapses. As rival factions, criminal syndicates, and powerful corporations compete for control, the protagonist must uncover the truth behind the disaster while fighting to survive in a city descending into anarchy. The game combines twin-stick shooting with role-playing mechanics, allowing us to customize our character, upgrade cybernetic implants, and wield a wide variety of futuristic weapons and abilities. As per my experience, have played in COOP with a friend and we faced freezes, crashes and several bugs of conectivity. Starting the game you don't know, and there's no tutorial to help you, which options or action you can do to make the game more dynamic. As an example, the use of the Taxi which will transport you to discovered places you already passed through so you don't spent many time walking. The LORE it's not an interesting one since you do "jobs" to help someone all over the game and discover small purposes from the characters you meet during your progress. This happens the same for the DLC that you start on the end of the game...too much unclear points to understand. One more point is, you find secondary missions at a point that you don't have access to the places you need to go which leads you to go forward and backward trying to handle them. In my oppinion, they would need to be available only the specific section is available to enter. In summary, we explore densely populated districts, complete missions, and battle hostile gangs, security forces, and powerful bosses. Have stunning cyberpunk visuals, fast-paced combat, and richly detailed world, delivering an action-packed adventure filled with mystery, corporate intrigue, and high-tech warfare but without a centered LORE with a good explanation. Anyway, give it a try.
