well, only a tester, and not one to do many reviews, but this one is well worth the time and effort and i also don't mind putting my name to it, before release, i was on the early to late alpha versions, then early and late beta, now into early access i can clearly see a lot of progressions and updates, changers and alterations, from feedback and idea's and items which didn't work so well so was altered, a lot has been added since and the game can't be compared to the earlier versions in all but name of the game. the developers are easy going, easy to talk to, take feedback good or bad, positive or negative into there stride and in the end want what's best for everyone, a good game so listen and are prepared to alter something if it just doesn't work, or something else gets mentioned of found to work better, started off as a simple bug test and ended up more of the sum of it's parts as so much has been added in a really short space of time, still a long road to go to a finished game, but from the parts released and tested so far, imo it has changed enough to be a good enjoyable game, with only a few missions to test, you can see how the progress is going and hopefully if the same amount of time and effort is put into the rest as has been in the first few, then a good and enjoyable game will be well polished for release, it's a full and hard market mind you and not helped by some who already have given poor or negative views on a game which isn't even finished and still in making, seems not everyone has an idea and or a clue on what EA is, but that's beside the point, if it carries on the same as it has so far, once released it will be a game as good as most in the packed market place for hex based, turn based war games, and more than welcome, thanks for the ability to test, hope you enjoy the game in early access, if not, think twice before moaning, the forum is for replies and errors found, not the review section,... version 3 and out of EA now uploaded, with a 32bit and 64bit exe and support for 4 and 8k models in game with GUI to suit, enjoy

Too early. The map looks really nice graphically, but it is really obvious that this isn't just Early Access, its Really Early Access. I'll give it another shot when it matures. Edit in response to the developer: I will keep my honest opinion here, but change to Recommend, based on this: The game deserves a fair shot. These devs are responsive and working hard. If you want to be part of something that looks like it'll be great after more work, this is a great title for that, because the devs are communicative, responsive and sound motivated.
I wasn't sure which way I was going to go on this review. Ultimately I'm giving it a thumbs down. The graphics are decent, and the sounds are decent, but this game seems to have some bugs. My game would lag and run poorly at times on my laptop which has an RTX2060 in it. Surely that card with an i9 processor should be able to run this game....but not so much. Also, after the Berlin mission, my game crashes as it was attempting to go to the next mission.....and I can't get it to work. Oh well, i was getting tired of it anyway. If you've played any turn based hex based ww2 game....then you've already played this game. There is nothing new here. There are some annoying mechanics involved in the game as well....for example, there is no benefit to any combined arms attack. If your ground troops are supported by nearby air or artillery, it doesn't matter. There really is no supply issues to worry about or negatives if your units get surrounded. Another thing that annoyed me was that you could not place air units on a hex that was already occupied....tell me how an airplane cares about what is on the ground...especially if it's simply an infantry unit. One last thing, the AI is dumb as hell. There were times when the AI had so much air power built up that they could have crushed my attack with a swarm of aircraft....they didn't do it....often times just flying off for unknown reasons. Anyway, there has to be better games out there.....get one of those.
okay my review may have spoilers . also I had a head trauma 2004 that has my grammar at 7th grade level still have 2 degrees just as smart It has all the feel of a light/// beer pretzel game when you start but this is further from the truth /look I got a feeling that the missions get harder I just finished # 11 AND STARTED 12 .11 was a nightmare from depths. I was going write a negative review because of it. Until I seen a post about needing to hold something I did not and was like a stampede of bulls nothing I did stopped them so had top restart Pay attention to briefing a tip will be in them if not taken will not beat the battle . be ready to lose men /tanks and lots of air craft . when moving check the bunkers range in one move your thrust can and will be destroyed . It Early Access so I expect work will and is being done on some imbalances in the game . things like Germans build air field you can only get by air drop or rangers they seem to spawn to many heavy Strum Tigers / German air power seem to get to much hit points against US planes /or bombers shooting rockets and attacking fighters . Real life never herd bombers going after P51 fighters was other way around in 3 turns on mission 12 I have no air force left but transports also there is No base to start so ground units are what you get till you capture a base or cities so can build one and no money to build This game is addictive for the price well worth it the few reviews that are bad few hours play at most / if you mess up you can pull back as long you have a base rebuild rebuild with a little tweeking the game can be great go to game and base for other theaters like Russia /japan graphics are good clean crisp sound also
Not easy to play the tutorial is just too hard to follow. I hope the tutorial gets a liitle better so I can return to play again.
The game presents more than what the title says. It's just not tank operations but a combined U.S. army, navy, and air forces during world war II. Also, it starts from Africa then advances through a series of campaigns in Italy, France and finally Germany. Strategy and tactics must be carefully planned by the player as the lack of it means defeat. German forces (AI), as in history, have strong units capable of inflicting damage on a poorly executed attack. Logistics is important as ammunition, repair, and medical trucks play important roles during the heat of battle. Meager resources are available at start of the game, but just enough to purchase the right unit needed to defend and attack the enemy. Soon, with less casualties, capture of enemy territories, and kills, money resource can add up every turn. This game requires patience and determination to succeed. Turn based and movement is slow depending on the unit being used. Casualties on each turn can be a disaster and nobody is to be blamed but you, the player. Too many turns mean tough opposition since the enemy produces units as well each turn. I like to use the tanks supported by artillery with repair trucks at the side. Saboteurs are indispensable in capturing valued assets especially enemy bases and airfield but vulnerable in one swat. So, position them carefully and let them finish their job in one turn. Graphics has really improved and remastered as promised. Finally, I enjoy playing the game and would recommend this to every war gamer who's willing to spend long hours into the night.
Doesn't do anything new, or even do anything old at all well. Absolutely no reason not to just fire back up Panzer Corps instead of suffering through the inferior graphics and sub-par implementation of the same old game mechanics (same except done worse). I'd have played more if only to get more grist for this review, but 1) I became aware I was having no fun at all and was therefore wasting my precious time on this earth and 2) I wanted to make sure I got my refund request placed in time.
At these early stages, it is already a very fun and good game to play. Of the planned 12 scenario's (Except possible DLC's), there are currently 4 (5th coming this month) in the game. Besides the expected easy tutorial scenario, the others quickly pick up pace in difficulty and last several hours each. There are lots of unit types in the game already and the maps are really beautifull to play on. Besides that, the developers are highly active on the forums and actually listen to the community. I definitely see a bright future here and recommend picking it up if you're into strategy and WW2 games. 8/10
Having played this game for 87 hours so far, I got my moneys worth, however I would not recommend this game to others. It was continually crashing with the new updates, I reinstalled and it fixed the issue. The interface is a little awkward for unit interaction and seems to run slow and clunky.Ultimately, a game like this being turn based, WW2 and strategic, it just falls short. One of their recent bonus scenarios for example "Metz" is frustrating and poorly done. Like most scenarios you are the allied attacker however you immediately feel like a defender. Attacked by unrealistic waves of Luftwaffe. German Superbombers in fact, Interesting enough, the USA attacker has NO airfield or aircraft. Don't test me on history, but it is 1945 the US has Pershing tanks and still the Germans are outnumbering my forces 5 to 1. The scenario feels like I'm attacking a hugely more powerful opponent and strategy really goes out the window. You lose unit after unit and its all about overcoming the initial onslaught then forcing the idiotic AI into attrition. Should the scenario not be more about a very defensive axis force dug in, mixes of conscipt like troops and veteran and elite troops, with a very depleted Luftwaffe? This is in a nutshell what the strategy is, overcoming waves of mindless attacks, then counterattacking and forcing the AI to submit as you slowly force them into attrition by increasing your economy and increasing yours. In other words, increasing your buying power for units while starving them. That may not sound terrible except in a strategic game where rock paper scissor is the emphasis, the AI does not factor this. They suicide all their units and then when the majority of their forces are depleted. The AI just sits there and waits you to pummel them. I am not exaggerating. Its just poor design, clunky and monotonous.Although I played it lots, which is: I gave it very much attention... I never payed much for it... I'm not JUST tired of it. Its just not fun as a strategy. If you like games like whack a axis then maybe its for you. I'm uninstalling and making room for a game I will like to come back to play again and gain.
Im finding the game to be interesting so far. Replacements are done good. Ive only played a couple of missions ;however, So good so far.
