A fun game but I digress on one point... they replaced the voice actor from the 1st game in the series. Grrr... Still, yet, it is doable. Graphics are nice and have held up for this type of game. Sound and music are nice as well. I have not completed the game yet but am stuck in some of the more maze like patterns. It is just a matter of time. Recommended!
Just like the previous two, I attempted to reinstall and verify my files but still didn't work. Oh well. If they ever made a 4th game maybe fourth time is the charm?
Alien Breed 3: Descent is the climactic finale of Team17’s modern revival of the classic Alien Breed series, delivering a tightly focused, action-heavy conclusion that leans into spectacle, pressure, and mechanical refinement rather than reinvention. Designed as the third chapter in an episodic trilogy, the game assumes familiarity with its predecessors and escalates their ideas into a relentless descent toward survival or annihilation. From the opening moments, the tone is urgent and oppressive, framing the experience as a last stand aboard a collapsing starship where escape is uncertain and danger is constant. The narrative picks up with Conrad, the series’ long-suffering protagonist, trapped aboard the shattered Leopold as it plunges toward a frozen planet. Storytelling is functional rather than elaborate, conveyed through mission briefings, environmental cues, and occasional cutscenes that keep the focus squarely on momentum. While the plot doesn’t aim for deep characterization, it serves its purpose by maintaining forward drive and providing closure to the trilogy’s arc. The sense of inevitability—of systems failing, hulls rupturing, and time running out—adds weight to each objective and reinforces the game’s endgame atmosphere. Gameplay remains rooted in twin-stick, isometric shooting, and this is where Descent truly shines. Movement and aiming are fluid and responsive, enabling players to kite swarms, manage space, and make split-second decisions under pressure. Encounters are frequent and aggressive, with enemies pouring in from multiple angles and forcing constant repositioning. Objectives often require multitasking—activating consoles, sealing breaches, or managing environmental hazards—while waves of alien creatures close in. This design keeps tension high and discourages complacency, making every room feel like a calculated risk. Weapon variety and progression provide a satisfying sense of power without trivializing the challenge. Firearms range from dependable rifles and shotguns to more specialized tools designed for crowd control or burst damage. Newer additions and upgrades feel impactful, particularly when dealing with dense enemy clusters or tougher elite variants. Resource management plays a critical role; ammunition and credits are valuable, and poor spending decisions can leave players underprepared for later sections. The game rewards tactical thinking—knowing when to conserve, when to splurge, and which tools best suit a given encounter. Level design emphasizes spectacle and variety while maintaining the series’ trademark claustrophobia. Flooded corridors, crumbling hull sections, and exterior walkways introduce environmental threats that complement the enemy pressure. These settings aren’t just visual dressing; they influence movement, visibility, and pacing, forcing players to adapt on the fly. Although some assets and motifs recur from earlier entries, the escalation of hazards and the tighter pacing help prevent the experience from feeling stale. Beyond the campaign, Descent offers additional modes that extend its lifespan. Survivor-style challenges focus on endurance, pitting players against endless waves with increasing intensity and encouraging mastery of movement, weapon choice, and resource efficiency. Cooperative play enhances these modes and the campaign alike, transforming the experience into a coordinated effort where communication and role division matter. Co-op doesn’t dilute the difficulty; instead, it shifts the challenge toward synchronization and shared decision-making, which can be especially rewarding for players who enjoy arcade-style teamwork. Visually and aurally, the game delivers a polished presentation for its era. Lighting and particle effects accentuate the sci-fi horror aesthetic, while enemy animations and impact feedback make combat feel punchy and immediate. The sound design reinforces urgency—weapon reports are sharp, alarms blare during critical moments, and the score swells appropriately during climactic encounters. While not groundbreaking by modern standards, the audiovisual package effectively supports the game’s goals and maintains immersion throughout. Reception has generally reflected appreciation for the game’s focus and execution. Players who value intense, skill-driven shooters tend to praise its pacing, weapon balance, and cooperative options, while criticism often centers on its conservative approach and reliance on familiar mechanics. It doesn’t attempt to reinvent the formula established by earlier entries, but it refines and concludes it with confidence. In sum, Alien Breed 3: Descent succeeds as a decisive, high-energy finale that understands its strengths and commits to them. It delivers sustained pressure, satisfying combat, and a sense of closure that feels earned through challenge rather than spectacle alone. For fans of isometric shooters and the Alien Breed lineage, it stands as a robust capstone—lean, focused, and unapologetically intense. Rating: 7/10
This game is a slog to get through. Boring as hell, and it's way longer than it's supposed to, like 3 hours longer at least. I liked the first one, the second was a bit boring by the end, but this is just bad from the start. There is always a locked door, a missing key card, an elevator power surge or a flood to drain, everything is designed to waste your time and prolong the gametime. And the character is stuck on every little piece of terrain on the map, that is frustrating af.
i guess developers using unreal engine just love blur. the postprocessing is an insult to imagequality. besides this game just crashes at a certain point and cant be completed.

Total Puntuaciones (Bueno)6.1Cumple, entretiene y no promete magia: acción competente.

The game is not bad, quite short, but that's good because it gets repetitive quickly. The story is not bad. The explosions could have been smaller and the controls more stable. For me, the big minus is the upgrade system. Too small and too expensive. There are only three upgrades for the hero, for each weapon there are also three, but you can only use one and most always for more power. And nothing is saved if you start a free game. The prologue is a separate level from the campaign and is activated separately. Best with a discount. It just copies the review from the first game and there's not much difference anyway. Two weapon has been renewed and the bazooka is bad for playing in what is most often a narrow space. There are arenas but they are not anything special. Good story and the same gameplay without any improvements. It just copies the first and second reviews. Two new weapons in place of the last two from the previous game. A difference from the previous one, more fierce. But no new improvements. It would be great if all three games were one.
