Tales of Berseria is a MASTERPIECE—one of the greatest JRPGs I’ve ever played! From its dark, emotionally gripping story to its incredibly well-written characters, this game had me completely hooked from start to finish. Velvet Crowe is one of the most compelling protagonists in gaming—her journey from vengeance to redemption is raw, powerful, and unforgettable. The combat system is fast, fluid, and deeply satisfying, blending classic *Tales* mechanics with fresh twists that keep battles exciting for dozens of hours. The soundtrack is breathtaking, the voice acting is stellar, and the world is rich with lore and side content. While the dungeon design can feel a bit dated, everything else—the story, characters, and emotional payoff—more than makes up for it. If you love JRPGs with deep narratives and unforgettable characters, *Tales of Berseria* is an absolute MUST-PLAY. I haven’t been this emotionally invested in a game in years! **Rating: ★★★★★ (10/10 – A Masterpiece!)**
mto bom o jogo, valeu a pena jogar visto q esperei mtos anos para conhecer a historia do tales of berseria dps de ter assistido tales of zestiria
compared to most other JRPGs: +story is more straightforward, there's a recap notes in case you left the game for months (like me) +field-to-battle are transitional, but.... unlike many JRPGs, the combat is real time, you program combos of 4 attacks to be executed in a single button. Require experiment, or today, guide. Switching to character other than the protagonist is not required maybe unless you raise up the difficulty. +difficulty is according to the settings. You'll breeze in the lowest difficulty. +GAMEPAD is NEEDED NOT JUST RECOMMENDED. Once i got stuck in a menu because of keyboard controls. Story? I won't spoil, especially if there's a sales event happening, just buy. All the stories are there if not in the synopsis. cons/the bad -it's like 8 years late i played this, but then again back then i can only afford The Phantom Pain. conclusion: better investment than any gacha game. Heck the developers tried to make a gacha Tales spinoff but they failed. Looking forward for Tales of Arise whenever the money's in (or not because the characters there look older more like WRPGs than JRPGs despite its anime style).

Much like Yakuza 0, this was another game i purchased on a whim 4 years ago. Recently, I have been going back to play uncompleted or unplayed steam games. This was one of those games. I usually don't care for vengeance stories, but this game surprised me. The games main themes of grief, trauma, morals and emotion versus reason really had me hooked. The characters were all absolutely amazing. Eizen, Rokurou, Velvet, Laphi, Magilou and Eleanor were a great main cast. They each had different views on morality and often had conflicts. Even some of the side characters like Dyle and Zaveid were great. The gameplay is quite fun too, with lots of combos and dodging. My only complaint would be the graphics, as they looked a little ugly sometimes. However, I don't usually focus on graphics too often so it won't affect my overall rating. Overall, I will give Tales of Berseria a 8/10, as it has great storytelling, compelling side quests, well written characters and very fun combat. However, lack of true fast travel was a little annoying and the game was a little grindy at times.
