About
From Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the Batman: Arkham series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a genre-defying third-person action shooter where the ultimate band of misfits must do the impossible to save the world: Kill the Justice League.
Join the newly “recruited” members of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X (aka the Suicide Squad), Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, as they set out on an impossible mission to Kill the Justice League. Drop into an expansive and dynamic open-world Metropolis ravaged by Brainiac’s invasion and terrorized by the heroes who once protected it.
Each Squad member brings their own traversal mechanics to help them navigate a sprawling and battle-torn Metropolis, combining free-roaming exploration and combat verticality for an unforgettable experience. Players are free to experiment with a variety of different play styles to unleash maximum damage on their enemies. Whether in single player or online with up to three of your friends, players can take on this suicide mission their own way.
Post-launch, players can expect a continuously evolving Metropolis with free new playable villains, environments, weapons, in-game events, and more, all included with purchase of the base game.

Neskutočný odpad aj po toľkom čase od vydania. Rozbitá, nekvalitná sračka na ktorú sa vývojári vysrali už pred vydaním!
To preface this, I feel like I have to cover my own ass by saying that I love the Arkham games. I still have fond memories of picking Asylum up on Day 1 after school. I remember falling in love w/ Batman, when the last Batman game I played was the Batman Begins tie-in game (surprisingly a banger). I also say this coming off a recent re-playthrough of Arkham Knight, so Arkham is fresh on my mind. All that said... The hate for this game is grossly overblown. It's not a bad game by any means. It's not even a mediocre game in a lot of ways (though it certainly is in some other ways). It's a thorough 6.5 or 7/10 from a studio that is used to putting out solid 10s. The Pros: - The story was actually pretty good. Original? ♥♥♥♥ no. You can see every "moment" coming from a mile away, w/ the exception of certain deaths. But does that mean it's bad? No-- Hell, you could say the exact same thing for the Arkham titles. Visually, the cutscenes are fantastic. Expressions are detailed, the background gags are chuckle-worthy, and the overall animation is very experssive and likely MoCap'd. The writing? It's okay. Everyone is as you'd expect. Deadshot is the Straight Man, Boomerang is the Wackjob Psycho, Harley is Harley, and King Shark is this game's fill-in for Drax (I'm not familiar w/ his comic counterpart, but I far prefer this KS over the one in Gunn's Suicide Squad), a sort of Warrior-Poet comic relief. And the Justice League? They all act as you'd expect their Evil/Brainwashed counterparts would. But while generic and predictable, none of it is BAD. At worst, it's serviceable. At best, you either chuckle or laugh at some of their antics. All the voice actors also put in work. There's not a single bad performance in the game, imho. And since I've seen a lot of "Who the ♥♥♥♥ wants to play as the Suicide Squad? Let us play as the Justice League instead!" I'd say: true, but also, I don't think a game w/ the Suicide Squad is exactly unappealing. They're underdogs, often in conflict w/ one another, and it gives them a goal to reach at the end of their monumental uphill climb. It makes for a good story, much like the GOTG game (though this one falls a good bit short of that one). Personally, it's not a "one or the other" situation. I believe there's a place for both a SS:KTJL game AND a JL game, both w/ vastly differing vibes. Also, since this is a point of contention: I think Batman is handled fine in this game-- heck, before his death, I'd say the Bat is handled phenomenally. The only change I would've made was for him to have snapped out of his brainwashing in the final moments so that he could accept his death more gracefully. I'm not gonna parasocially link myself to the Arkham Batman, nor am I going to make claims that they disrespected Kevin Conroy when he has, iirc, went on record to say that he enjoyed voicing Batman in this game. It's imperfect, but it's not the worst thing to have ever happened. And, if what I've read is true and Elseworlds soft-revives Batman anyway, even better. - The gameplay is where this game shines. From surprisingly fluid traversal (between the two I played, at least, which was Deadshot and Harley) that has a good amount of depth in how you can optimiza it, to the gunplay that was initially kinda basic but ended up feeling pretty good once every piece of your kit "comes online". I genuinely had a LOT of fun zipping around everywhere like Spider-woman, before whipping myself around like a wrecking ball as I hosed down a bunch of goons. It felt like an old school sort of shooter, not too keen on being balanced or grounding itself to realism. The closest point of reference I had in terms of "vibes" was Sunset Overdrive. In fact, a lot of the presentation of the game had that vibe to it, for better AND worse. There are even some (not many) cool set piece moments, like being hunted by Batman, or the boss fights (more on this later lmao). I know I might be understating it here, but I can't tell you just how much fun the game CAN be when it all clicks. - Metropolis. It's gorgeous. If you've played City or Knight, you'll know Rocksteady has the sauce. Much like those games, Metropolis is oozing w/ style and references. There's not much else to say here. I think even the biggest hater of this game can admit that KTJL's Metropolis is a beautifully rendered interpretation. The Cons: - All the live service ♥♥♥♥. Want another skin? 10 bucks in the store, because the only skins in the game you'll get are variants of your prison jumpsuit or slight variations on their cover art fits. Want old school Harley? Shop. Want Arkham Harley? Shop. Want Classic Deadshot? Shop. The BPs also feel like ass, as most BPs do. They progress slow as hell, and the rewards are underwhelming as ♥♥♥♥, though this might be a blessing in disguise. - The ARPG ♥♥♥♥. Now, I love me some Shlooting. I play Destiny and Borderlands, so I'm used to this. That said, it's so out of the way here for most of the game that I question whether or not this was a constant point in their development or tacked on at a later date. I'd honestly rather they just gave us "Stock" guns of varying ROFs (say a semi-auto sniper and a bolt-action one) then let us mod it at our own leisure as we do the sidequests for the "Support Squad". As it stands, it's just... whatever. Not bad -- there are certainly some affixes that can be pretty fun -- but it's so blase that I'd much rather the game just NOT have it. Oh, and worse yet, if you want to recieve your loot post-mission? I hope you wanna sit through the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lootbox animation over and over! - The level design... or lack thereof. There are very few "missions" in this game. By that, I mean that while you do many missions, most of them are some variation of 5 mission types: "Kill ♥♥♥♥, protect ♥♥♥♥, find ♥♥♥♥, collect ♥♥♥♥, protect ♥♥♥♥ 2.0", most of which are set out in the open world. Now, that itself isn't a crime. The Arkham games were some variation of "Go here, do XYZ, repeat" as well. Most games are. But when you did a story mission, they often took you to a set piece, or at least a set location. In this game, about 80% of the content is set in the overworld. Part of it, I can forgive, as it's to accomodate for everyone's aptitude for verticality, but at the same time, they can design levels around that. - The "Endgame". When you finish the game, you haven't "finished" the game. You're sent out to do the same repetitive tasks over and over again, only to culminate in the same few bosses over and over again. Now, I liked the bosses... once. I don't want to fight reskinned versions of them again and again 12 more times. But worst of all... - The optimization. There's no if/ands/buts here. It is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. My rig is pretty hefty, and while the game looks good, it does NOT look good enough to justify drops down to ~55FPS when I'm playing on 1080p. However, despite all that, I think the Pros FAR outweigh the Cons, despite it seeming like there are more Cons than the former. It's a FUN game, and I can see it getting MORE fun w/ friends, though it was perfectly viable solo. And for the ~5 bucks it frequently drops down to? I'd say it MORE than pulls its weight-- heck, I'd say it'd even be worth upwards of ~30 if you treat it as a sort of "one and done" ARPG/story rather than a Forever Game like WB likely wanted it to be. tldr fun game, horrible live service. Buy it for cheap, play through it, enjoy the story, move on.
Idk what all the fuss is nor was about, but personally I like it. Naw I get what everyone is upset about, but I like the game overall tho minus a few hiccups here and there. I would recommend getting on heavy discount tho. Got Mike for 2 bucks and for 2 bucks the 30hr I got out of it so far is well worth it, plus got loads more to enjoy 😉
