Do not buy this game, it will work for a day or two, the just one day fail to launch. If you don't believe me, Google "Star Wars Squadrons wont launch on Steam" and look at the hundreds of forums and videos about it. None of the fixes work. It's such a great game, but you can't even play it.
I love star wars but I am not able to play this game. I tried a billion ways to play it but it wont open :(
wont launch
I was looking for a decent Star Wars dogfight game, But had to skip hundreds of boring dialogues with yawn potential. Body Type Anaconda and Bison. Had to choose between one white bread with eyebrows, 8 nutellas and 2 curries, Chose Imperial, but the game forced me to play REBELLION instead, surrounded by more nutella and a weird-looking lizard.
if you have a newer PC it wont start unless you only use 8 cores on you PC. Forget about any support for that by EA those asshats dont care. big PASS
I feel mixed about this one. Overall, I'm happy I bought and played it because it looks great in VR and it is so thrilling just to see Star Wars stuff in 3D. Pros: -Runs super smoothly and... -...actually looks pretty high-res for VR, which is commendable! -I like seated VR experiences and using non-VR controllers, it's easy comfort and means I don't fight my headset cable. -Everything you expect from a Star Wars game (other than Jedi) - high production values, great music, comforting good-vs-evil saturday-morning storytelling. -Narrative switching between different sides of the same conflict is neat. -Space lasers go pew pew! My Cons: -The gameplay isn't much more than space lasers going pew pew, and I ended up stopping because I didn't like how much it felt like damage was unavoidable in the chaos of a dogfight. To be fair, it's a dogfight simulator, so this one is mostly "just not my taste". Or maybe I just suck. -They put obvious effort into the characters and writing, which I appreciate, but I also wasn't super compelled by any of it. -I really dislike the evil-characters-have-English-accents trope, especially when the voice actors clearly aren't English and their accent wobbles. Cons I Don't Care About But You Might: -It's a primarily multiplayer game that, as far as I can tell, is dead. I bought it just for the singleplayer, which was fine, but be warned that MP will probably not serve you at all. -Technical problems. I only experienced one weird CTD, which the Steam forums solved, but I have a great PC and others seem to have loads of issues, including straight up not booting. -If you want motion controllers in VR, look elsewhere.
This was my favorite Star Wars game of all time. One of my favorite GAMES of all time. Flawless dogfighting. Love it. Then it became abandoneware. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. IT DOES NOT LAUNCH.
the dialogue is horrendous marvelslop, the human characters are all ugly glubglub test tube people, they made the empire look lame (that lady on the imperial side with her chud haircut really took me out of it), the campaign is really bad, the multiplayer is completely unbalanced, the campaign AI is braindead and is only hard because they one shot you on ace difficulty (nothing you can do about it). cant say i didnt expect it but i paid like 5 bucks for it. bring back rogue squadron and the tie fighter series
