for the people who cant launch the game try deleting the squadrons folder in documents it launched after that for me but the amount of bs we have to do to get the game running is absolutely insane
I forgot I had this game lol Played it years ago, it absolutely sucked and had some of the worst control layouts in existence. Terrible gameplay, terrible missions, terrible everything. Could have copied ace combat's style of flying and controls and this game would have been 80% better even with a weak storyline.

Buyer Beware As of today, June 18th 2026, this game does not boot past the EAC splash screen. EA support is useless and they refuse to address the issue. This review may change if they ever fix it, but I highly doubt they ever will. So right now, do not waste your money on it even on a deep sale. Edit: The only possible fix that seemed to work was quite literally giving exceptions to every exe file in the game's folder directory in my firewall. The main exe itself, the laucher exe, and the EAC exe in the EasyAntiCheat folder within that directory. Review can change at a future date with more gamplay, but still. Rearlly weird "fix" just to get it to run. Might not be the same for everyone though.

After spending 3 hours trying to get past EAC giving constant errors, I learned that the whole VR thing is just not worth it since you still have to use regular mouse and keybord or a gamepad, since motion controls arent supported (whats even the point of it being a VR game then?) And even past all that, the game plays boringly, the ships dont feel like they have any weight to them or have any difference in their flight between each other
Graphics are good, but the gameplay is mid and the missions are kinda boring. Since multiplayer is dead, there is no good reason to buy the game anymore.
Worst VR experience ever. Index users DO NOT BUY unless you want to take your headset off every 5 seconds to make KB selections.
5 hours in, I must say, the story is short and BAD. Gameplay is fun, I might get 20+ hours from this game just for the joy of flying around. Haven't tried multiplayer yet. Worth $5 or less. EDIT: worse than I thought. Couldn't get into any multiplayer match, and solo campaign glitched so could not finish. Still might be worth $2 or less if you have VR or a big screen and just want to fly around once a while.
