Jumping through EA's hoops will make you hate the game before before you play a moment. Literally took 20 mins from pressing play to being in game and then it was an immediate disappointment. The controls are bad and the feel is just off. If you're a flight sim, ace combat for project wingman person you'll hate it. If you're just a Star Wars person then the style might be enough because there is certainly no substance. Had a way better time going back to the Rogue Squadron Trilogy after this disappointment. Do yourself a favor if the game requires a third party launcher don't buy it, sooner or later it will F-you over.
Not worth getting unless on a [i] steep [/i] sale. online is pretty dead. the campaign is fully playable in VR.

EA broke the launcher and is unplayable now. They wonder why we hate them, it is because they first hated us.
It doesn't work anymore, and we can't even ask for a refund...
for the people who cant launch the game try deleting the squadrons folder in documents it launched after that for me but the amount of bs we have to do to get the game running is absolutely insane
I forgot I had this game lol Played it years ago, it absolutely sucked and had some of the worst control layouts in existence. Terrible gameplay, terrible missions, terrible everything. Could have copied ace combat's style of flying and controls and this game would have been 80% better even with a weak storyline.
Buyer Beware As of today, June 18th 2026, this game does not boot past the EAC splash screen. EA support is useless and they refuse to address the issue. This review may change if they ever fix it, but I highly doubt they ever will. So right now, do not waste your money on it even on a deep sale. Edit: The only possible fix that seemed to work was quite literally giving exceptions to every exe file in the game's folder directory in my firewall. The main exe itself, the laucher exe, and the EAC exe in the EasyAntiCheat folder within that directory. Review can change at a future date with more gamplay, but still. Rearlly weird "fix" just to get it to run. Might not be the same for everyone though.
