About
Hey 👋, I'm Sascha and I develop Reforged Tower Defense in my spare time - simply because I love tower defense games.

I wanted to build a game that captures the charm of classic TDs - but with a twist: loot, level system, skill trees and even co-op. Whether you just want to set towers until the enemy waves crash, or you want to perfect builds and strategies, you'll find your thing here.

There is no battle pass, no energy limit, no timer - just towers, opponents and your plan. Whether solo in classic or rogue-like mode or together in co-op - you decide how you want to play.

Do you have ideas for new towers, items or crazy game modes? Just write to me! I'm passionate about developing Reforged Tower Defense and welcome any input - be it bug reports, feedback or a wild wish list. If you want to see something cool in the game, let me know. Maybe it'll be in the next update. 💬
Thanks for joining us - and have fun defending!🛡💥

TLDR: Awesome tower defense with some unique features that will definitely make it worth your money! As a person who loved playing tower defense in WC3 as a child I was always looking for a tower defense game that gave me the same feeling that I had back then. Reforged TD does exactly that. (It even has an homage to Burbenog!) The game has beautiful graphics and runs perfectly smooth on the highest settings on my system. (Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX5700) There is a huge skilltree, which lets you decide if you want to focus on passive and active, tower oriented skills, which let you buff the towers accordingly; or choose the more active route of attacking the units by yourself using a variety of spells that you can cast on the units. The skilltree is huge and I couldn't fully explore it yet, but from what I've seen so far it is done amazingly well. The developer really took some time and thought to make an amazing skilltree. There are three types of currencies, one to build and upgrade towers, one to buy active and passive spells and one to unluck new towers and passively upgrade them individually. The singleplayer maps are available in different difficulties which range from pretty easy to so challenging, that you will probably need a couple of tries to actually finish the map. After finishing a map you receive stars that will let you unlock the other maps. There is a motiviation to come back to the earlier maps, as you receive more stars for finishing them on a higher difficulty. The maps have varying layouts; ranging from a simple straight line to pretty complex paths. The singleplayer alone is a lot of fun, honestly, the game would be worth the price, even if it only had the singleplayer. But it also has a multiplayer mode with up to 4 people! The multiplayer mode is what really makes this game amazing for me. It just has this nostalgic feeling that reminds me of WC3. It's exactly what I've been looking for in other TD games. Basically, you get a X*Y grid to build your towers on. The units will always travel on the shortest path between their start and destination, so you will have to make sure to build a path that lets the units travel for the longest time, giving you enough time to clear them before they damage you. Those units are sent by the enemy player. All players have a menu with units which they can send to their enemies for a small price. Each time you send a unit you get a small part of said price back as a passive income. The units you can send get more expensive and stronger the longer the game takes. Honestly, the multiplayer is amazing. There is so many different strategies you can use, you really just have to try it out for yourself, you won't be dissapointed. The huge amount of skills inside the skilltree, the various units you can send and the various different tower compositions make the multiplayer feel really well thought out. It just feels like I'm playing what Warcraft 3 Reforged TD could have been. Buy it, you won't regret it!
about 10 maps, many different enemies. has about 10 towers you would expect, buff, aoe, single target, ground only. many upgrades for meta progression So far it seems short, beat 4/10 levels. Interested to see what comes next.
Is this a decent game with a lot of potential to be great? Yes. Would I recommend this game to someone in its current state? No. I would instead recommend one of the many better TD games out there right now, especially at this price point. There is so much about this game to love, but it just isn't "there" yet. I know its early access, but even in early access, if you are charging 18 dollars you should deliver something fun. I love skill trees and build variety in a game, and there is a serviceable skill tree at play here, but it isn't really that deep or interesting besides providing small, flat buffs; nothing that will change the way you play, and each individual tower also has two linear perks you can buy, which again are small, flat buffs. There's a lot of room here to make interesting, specialized builds, but at present, this facet underdelivers. Even if you put ALL of your points into one tower or play style, don't expect that particular tower or play style to feel any different than any other. There are ten different damage types in this game. TEN. This makes knowing which monsters are vulnerable to which damage type really more effort than its worth, and would potentially make tower selection really important, but since there are only four or five damage types the player currently has access to, many monsters you encounter at this stage in EA are resistant to basically all your towers. You would think there would be a great range of towers available, given how many damage types there are, but towers are already pretty redundant (what really is the difference between a cannon and mortar tower? It's hard to tell.), and therefore you typically just want to go with whatever tower will give you the biggest numbers for your dollar. Which brings me to my next and most important criticism - that there isn't really a whole lot to do. Between waves, you will typically only have enough money to make one single decision, whether its to build a new tower or upgrade one of your existing towers. Many times, you will do nothing at all, since its takes several waves worth of enemies to give you enough gold to upgrade a tower. This makes the one decision per round really important, but it also means there isn't a lot of leeway in regards to true player choice - like there's a right and wrong answer, and the player isn't encouraged to solve the level their own way with their own clever build. Also there are some small gripes that are hopefully going to resolve quickly, for example tower targeting needs some serious attention. I don't know how many times I looked at a tower and was bewildered at which enemies it was choosing to target; this was especially bad when targeting was set to "first", and my towers would just be attacking whoever they pleased. In addition, the sound is weirdly quiet so I have to turn my volume up all the way, not that the sound design is really anything beyond the standard fare of booms and pows. I "like" this game and its' general premise, and it has a lot of elements I enjoy in TD games, so I'm going to follow it as it develops in the hopes of it getting better. When that happens, I'll be glad to edit this review. Until then, I would recommend you play Cartridge Defense, Defense Grid, or even the free Infinitode 2 to get your TD fix.
Very cool game for in between. There aren't that many maps yet, but the ones that are in are really fun and quite challenging. From level 5 onwards, the difficulty level increases again. I'm curious to see how the multiplayer will develop in the future. I will definitely continue to follow the game.
I don't often write reviews, but when i do it's because a game is worth it. If you like tower defense games, this is a gem. In case you are old enough to have experienced the Warcraft 3 tower defense maps and you loved that, grab a box of tissues and buy this game.
Very nice TD 10/10 !!!
Sadly cant recommend this game in it's current state. Graphics: Cute and Cartoony, I like them! Skill System: Very interesting and different from the many TDs I have played. I have some minor issues with the current skill options but that is due to other issues I have with the game. Singleplayer: Seems fairly developed at this point, I enjoy the continuous leveling as you go through it. Multiplayer: I assume not complete at all!! Most maps dont work with Co-Op which my brother and I like to play as we are not PVP type persons. Waves are continuous with no breaks to level up like singleplayer has. Unless you have played through singleplayer, you have no idea the enemy abilities. Towers: Maybe I havent made it far enough through singleplayer but WTF are blockers for?!?! I purchased that assuming I could put it on the path to make them shift. Preferably towards the tesla tower that doesnt have enough range to reach the path right next to it. Yeah... towers need so rework. Also why are all unlocks based on Skill Points spent, including towers? We also ran into an issue that our towers were being destroyed by these snakes? as fast as we could build them! If you are going to have tower damage (not a fan of it btw with how much you spend to level it), then you either need skills to make them more resistant, or a button to repair them as they are taking damage. SOMETHING! I dont want to sit there and watch my tower being destroyed knowing there is nothing I can do except rebuild it in quantity and not bother wasting energy to upgrade it. Kind of removes some of the fun. Well there's my quick take on it! If they develop this game right though, I think it will be alot of fun comparable to Element TD which is my current favorite!
So-so, just way too tedious to level up. Just let me play the game. Not everything needs drawn out grinding.
