About
Ragtag Heroes is a co-op roguelike deckbuilder for 1-3 players where co-op isn't a mode - it's the whole design. The real magic happens between your decks, not just inside them. Combine your heroes' abilities, set up devastating team combos, and watch your perfect plan come together - or fall apart in real time.
BUILD DECKS THAT COMBO
Every hero has their own cards, relics, and playstyle - but the best moments happen when they collide. One hero locks an enemy in place while another unloads everything they've got. Swap teammates between runs to discover entirely new strategies.
CONTROL THE BATTLEFIELD
This isn't just a card game - positioning matters. Shove monsters away from your weakest hero. Drag enemies into range of your hardest hitter. Lock them in place or punish them for moving - but watch out, they'll try the same on you.
CONTROL THE TURNORDER
Drain an enemy's initiative to zero and watch them stand there, helpless, while your team piles on. Strategically slow down the most dangerous enemies so your heroes act first — or concentrate your efforts to stun them entirely and skip their turn.
RUNS THAT FORCE YOU TO ADAPT
Worlds shuffle every run, and corruption deepens the further you go, twisting familiar stages into something nastier. The strategy that worked last time might completely fall apart this time.
BRAVE OR DEFAULT - RISK NOW OR SCALE LATER
Push your luck with Brave for extra actions now - and spend next turn stunned. Or Default to bank energy for a bigger play later. A simple choice that constantly makes you wonder: should we actually do this?

Clearly heavily inspired by Slay the Spire, nearly all the mechanics are there, but they've added enough that it feels fresh. Would definitely recommend if you have friends to play with.
Great game. Well it's EA so need polish, need some tools and stuff. Played with a friend tonight, we had a lot of fun (until desync in act 2) For a first day, it's not bad =) Keep working =)
Really at its best when playing 3 player co-op
Fun and solid deck builder
fun game a lot like sts but multiplayer
Very much enjoying the game so far, Acts 1 and 2 feel really good and well balanced, though act 3 needs a major tone-down from the runs I've done so far. Act 3 doesn't seem impossible by any means, but the enemies go from relatively thought-provoking and dealt with tactfully via Acts 1 and 2, to straight up "you need broken builds" in Act 3. A friend and I recently had a run where we were just steamrolling enemies through Act 1/2, and within the first 4 battles of Act 3, were utterly demolished due to the staggering amount of incoming status cards, debuffs, and immediate damage due to some enemies having in my opinion way too high of initiative to make the turn-by-turn battle feel fair. Overall giving this game a solid 8 out of 10 in every other category when it comes to deck builders and cooperative gameplay between heroes (redirecting damage, lane changing, the stun mechanic, all that feels super good), but Act 3 definitely needs a little more TLC to be more manageable without having to always aim for busted builds.
1/10 - Lazy slapped-on toxicity-enabling multiplayer - 💩 MULTIPLAYER REWARDS DISABLED. We beat the game (all acts) multiple times and still didn't unlock hero #4 to play with (unlock requirements: beat act 3). - 💩 NO AYNCHRONOUS TURNS means 66% of the time you're watching other people play. - 💩 SOMEONE GETS SHAFTED EVERY GAME. 3 heroes to choose for 3 players, no repeats, means someone gets stuck with a hero they didn't get to choose. - 🤖 Story text has emdashes (written by AI) and feels exceedingly pointless. - 🤡 Developer specifically added shared rewards because they had the insane thought that convincing your friends you deserve to buy anything at all with the group gold is a fun part of co-op. As if that's not going to cause fights or introverts to get bullied out of loot... Imagine playing with a random who spends all the team gold! - 💩 No endless / new game +, which means every so many battles your build gets thrown in the toilet and the developer gives you the middle finger because why would you want agency over when you end your run? This is one of those games where they don't bother too much with balance because they sneak into your house and slit your run's throat every 30 minutes so who cares if you get unbalanced it'll be over soon. Interesting choices: - Block always carries over between turns. - Many cards are fight-lasting buffs that exhaust for the fight. - x2 AP to skip your next turn, which my friends tell me is ripped of from another game. - 💩 Random encounter for not setting a guard (screwing one player out of an ugprade) is harder than the boss.
Fun little work in progress game. at time of writing this, each time there has been a patch(three patches whilest trying to game over a few days), save files seem to no longer work. Quite frustrating, would hold off until that's no longer a, seemingly, frequent issue.
Is the game flawed? Yes. Are the developers working hard to fix said flaws? Also yes. I enjoy the game.
I played several hours in the playtest with my buddy, and look forward to several more this weekend. This game has rough edges, but its really fun and I recommend giving it a try. The devs very active in their discord and listens to their players feedback and communicates back. Really looking forward to when my favorite class (Baker) gets added back in. :)
