About
Into the Dungeon is a roguelike deck builder with online coop. Play as one of 4 classes to battle creatures from a grim fantasy world tainted by evil. Build your deck with class unique cards, unlock artifacts that augment the way you play, and team-up with cross class synergies.
Into the Dungeon features 4 unique character classes, each with their own unique perks, cards and playstyles.
The Wizard deals high damage and manipulates the Exhaust card mechanic to his advantage. His unique class artifact the Mana Stone carries mana over through rounds allowing him to deal massive damage with high cost cards.
The Paladin can sustain heavy damage with his unique class artifact Plate Armor. He utilizes combos between offensive and defensive cards to deal heavy damage while maintaining his defensive stats.
The Viking deals massive damage through single turn combos while granting herself and her allies damage buffs and resistances. Her unique class artifact the Three Leaf Clover enhances her multi-attack playstyle, increasing her damage on every third strike.
The Bard is the most complex of the classes with a totally different playstyle from the rest thanks to her unique class artifact the Musicians Trick. Her artifact builds up power every time she plays a card, unleashing the stored energy whenever she plays her unique Song cards. Additionally, She utilizes poisons to her advantage, building up damage over the course of a combat.
What makes Into the Dungeon different from other cooperative card-battlers is that all players act in real time. This keeps the pace of the game fast and fun as you simultaneously blast your foes and increase your power. Delve deep into a roguelike deck builder with an easy introduction and a deep challenge to keep you engaged.
Upon completing the game in classic mode you will unlock Hardcore Mode. This mode is designed to challenge experienced rogue-like deck-builder fans. It includes boosted stats for enemies as well as a round timer for some added pressure.

What you see is what you get. Its a cute little deck building rogue like with 4 classes that all play pretty differently and work well with each other. My wife is a huge Slay the Spire fan so she bought it for us, I'll admit I was skeptical at first and there were a few audio bugs but overall we had a blast. I can't remember the last time I heard her "goblin laugh" before this. We eagerly await the updates for it as the game feels pretty well balanced and does the genre very well. This is like Across the obelisk except we didn't have to spend 12 hours slogging through encounters to reach the end.
beat the game fully in 5 hours, the second game with a friend we barely broke a sweat. Very repetitive enemies, very basic animation and artwork. Most of the cards and abilities are taken from other games, but has good combos. Very rigid with the shop and extremely low power artifacts. The game runs fine, no bugs, very simple, just not worth 13 dollars right now. wishlist it until it's got more to it.
Together in Spire is better
Not very well balanced, It lacks content. There are way better card games out there.
A heavily simplified Slay the Spire-inspired deckbuilder that is in a big need of some polish. I kept feeling this would be nice to play if you have a kid/friend who is a beginner to get them into deckbuilders, but hardcore player will not find it engaging for long. Note: Only single player aspect is reviewed. I'm going to preface everything and say the game is "ok". If you are looking to play something simple for a few hours or explore the online mode then the game is fine for that. However if you are looking for something more complex to seek your teeth into, this game is not it. There are many reasons for that but it comes down to card play simplicity (each hero has 1 or maybe 2 ways of playing) and lack of enemy variety (1 boss per level and always the same enemies). Even if there are very few enemies/ways to play the ones that are in the game are designed well enough but lack of content really hurts the experience. On top of that there are a dozen of UI and UX deficiencies that over time hamper the enjoyment of the game. I've mentioned some of them in the list below, but one that stands out is lack of a save feature during a run. The run is not long but if you exit you lose all progress and I can't imagine why a modern game doesn't have a continue feature. All in all, the game is fine if you're new to the roguelike deckbuilder genre and are looking for something simple, but hardcore players won't find what they are looking for.
The positive
+ Ok as a casual game.
The neutral
* A ton of minor issues: No way to speed up animations, cards missing keywords (why does firebolt disappear?), cards not doing what they say they will do (e.g upgraded card doing 17 dmg still does 15), no deck preview when on map, some items not working properly or missing counters, no upgrade preview when picking cards, scrolling down scrolls up, etc
The negative
- Lack of content. Same bossess, same enemies, not enough cards to play with and not enough for creating synergies. After 1 run, you've seen everything. - [strike]Game not saved during run. Found this one out after a game breaking bug (which are rare) that forced me to quit to menu.[/strike] Saves are now supported - Hardcore mode has a mandatory 20 second timer in a turn-based game.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a simple/kid friendly StS it might work for you, but lack of content and polish will not satisfy most card lovers. Might still work with casual players or with friends. Careful recommendation.
As someone who has little experience with deckbuilders, Into the Dungeon is surprisingly approachable. You can tell that the devs took their time and put a lot of thought into each card. I played solo as a wizard and found myself getting excited to build up mana and expend it all on huge burst damage. I love that you can easily see what the enemies intend to do and can adjust your play-style accordingly. Buying new cards and artifacts and upgrading cards feels rewarding and you can see the power jump of your character. I found myself getting more bold as I played and taking more risks on which path I took. Into the Dungeon has gotten me interested in the deckbuilder genre as a whole and I highly recommend it.
Very fun. Playable in singleplayer or with up to 4 people, pretty beginner-friendly, and gets updates frequently with exciting stuff. Also bugs that are reported in the discord tend to get fixed pretty quick, which is pleasant. Only some minor flaws bc its in early access as of today (Feb 12th, 2024). 9/10 very rcommendable, had lotta fun playing it with friends
Please consider following my Curation page. I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events.

While art style doesn't matter...
Sometimes it does when most of the main characters (Wizard and Warrior) look like a Younger and Older version of Pops from Regular Show and Finn from Adventure Time. It just feels awkward and distracting to me, but that's beside the point; just my opinion, the visuals aren't excellent. The attacks, blocking, and splash sound effects which sounds like a filled condom are all very low-effort, which is OK, but I would expect some effort for the price of the game to be not that poor quality. When it comes to Deckbuilders, the most critical things are game play and replay ability. I did not enjoy the portals room. I did not like the map, the sfx, the music, or the game play. I know I'm being rather harsh, but it feels like an Early Access concept that was rushed before it had a chance to figure out what it wanted to be with the variety, balancing, spells, maps, events, etc.
Conclusion
Unfortunately, I cannot suggest this game as it stands. I mean, it might be okay for a half hour or a full hour, but even with the online multiplayer option, I wouldn't recommend playing alone or with a friend.
Fun game it has a good amount of content for cards. This game does feel better player in co-op then single player because some enemies hit hard. I would love to see more balance around difficulty based on the amount of players. Also you will run into the same fight back to back but this game is in early access game so that should improve in the future. Overall a fun game but it is better to play with friends.
La verdad es que me ha gustado bastante. Conforme vas aprendiendo mecánicas y estrategias te va enganchando más. Lo recomiendo totalmente.
