video version of review can be found here: https://youtu.be/wvo3zjDe_34 Pride Run is a rhythm game published by Greenmangaming. It celebrates LGTBQ+ community and pride parades. 10% of profit made from this game goes to charity. Now I don't like games that are made to promote a single ideology or a mindset, as I believe that their primary purpose is no longer to be a game and provide entertainment, but I tried to open-mindedly investigate this game anyway. So let's start with basic formula. The game works like this - you do a rhythm level where you press the keys on your keyboard or game-pad to a rhythm. Afterwards you have a boss fight for the region, where you press specific keys in order to deal damage and then press specific keys to defend against a boss attack. If you don't mess up the final attack, you do a prideality where you transform the boss into a pridefied version of themselves. There are 14 levels and you can play solo or in party mode with some local friends. In 43 minutes I have finished 6 levels and the tutorial, meaning that the whole game is approximately 2 hours long and costs 15£. Now I will break down the review into two sections - the boss fight and the levels. I will start by covering the boss fights. So then, boss fights! I got to say that I greatly disliked this part of the game, due to the controls. The controlling of both attacks and defending felt clunky. You had to press the keys down slowly and deliberately, or otherwise the game would tell me that I failed the prompt, even though I didn't. I also don't think that having the up arrow on such a light background works. I learned that it's up arrow through the process of elimination, because I could barely see it on my monitor. Maybe people with different monitors, or better eyesight would have better luck. Furthermore, the first boss fight lead me to believe that the idea was to make fun of a notable figure from that country, as your first boss fight is against Donald Trump. However afterwards I had a matador, yeti, yakuza, Indian man and a guy in front of a computer. Maybe there are some in-jokes here that only LGBTQ+ community understands, but it left me very confused, as I tried to determine what notable figure were they trying to parody and was there any. Onwards to the pridelities. Due to having to do Donald Trump in tutorial and outside of tutorial, I know that the biggest change in prideality was the fact that he got a giant collar on the dress, leading me to believe that the differences between failing and not failing the last prompt will be minimal, however as I failed the prompts later down the game I was sad to find out that very little in the picture seems to change if you fail the prompt. Indian man just did a funny dance for me, while the computer man started crying. That seemed sad and not very fulfilling. Okay, boss section done, back to the regular levels. I was playing on the normal difficulty and it seemed to be slightly on the easy side. There is a difficulty above normal though, so maybe I should have tried that instead. Music, which is very important in a rhythm game, was just not my cup of tea and the primary reason why I didn't get through all 14 levels. I will give you a listen to all 6 levels that I've done, so that you can make up your own mind. Unfortunately, that's only possible in video form, so click the video to hear this part of the review. Now the most jarring sound to me was the long notes, as it didn't feel like they went with the music. Overall: I thought that the art of the game was alright, however to me the most important bit of a rythm game is the music, as you keep to the rhythm and the music was just not my cup of tea. I don't think that this is a good game at all and would definitely not recommend buying at a 15£ mark.
Why do gays keep telling me that dressing up like a woman is empowering, but this game says that we should force people to dress like women to "defeat" them; Why does everyone look ugly and/or fat? I don't like gay people; and I get the distinct impression the makers of this game don't either, which is hilarious.
Vanilla seems good alternative for DDR, but you can´t change the arrow direction from horizontal to vertical to read it normally. It´s a small adjustment but it would help with gameplay a lot. My bigest issue with the game is flashiness which cannot be turned off. It´s a pity for it makes it unplayable for epileptics.
It has some great music, that's the best part tbh. The pixel art style is cute but a little rough. The art design is good all around aside from some slight lack of polish. And the gameplay? Yes indeed, it is a Music Rhythm Real Time Strategy game. There's a Rhythm-game-only mode, but the meat of it is in the unique Rhtyhm-RTS hybrid mode. As a massive fan of Action Strategy Hybrids, I'm always glad to see unique combinations with the strategy genre like this. Oh right, I'm suppose to comment on the THEME. I like Trump and don't believe the "he's anti-gay" rhetoric. The game is a hilarious parody of modern gay politics. I think it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome but could use a little polish. The fact that this is a leftist troll in game form just maxes out the comical value.
A cute, pride-themed game that has mechanics similar to Parappa the Rapper. I loved the visual style, characters, and gameplay a lot. The boss battles were the highlight for me, and I loved seeing how the bosses would transform after being defeated. There is also an added challenge with hardcore mode, where in addition to playing the song, you have to set up the parade, which gives this game an interesting twist compared to other rhythm titles. One thing that was disappointing was the in-game music. It wasn't nearly as good as the tracks that played on the menus, which is a bit of a letdown for a rhythm game. If you can look past a meh soundtrack, Pride Run is a great game.
Pride Run has rainbows, unicorns, cities all over the world and especially representation. What more could you want? The soundtrack is fantastic and all the button smashing is very satisfying! The pixel art is incredibly well done and super fun to look at. What I like most of all is the theme and how the LGBTQ+ world is shown to be. It has many things that made me laugh when I saw them the first time, like all the characters in the parade or the attacks or the bosses. I think that Pride Run is a very fun game and that it's really good to have a game about happy queer people!
homoerotic gaben simulator.
Nota: 6,5/10

🎮🌵Más reseñas en mi mentor🌵🎮

Pride run is an unapologetically gay, bright, and fun rhythm game with bangin' music! I don't play a lot of rhythm based games, I can probably count just on one hand how many I've played, but I really liked this, and the mode with the RTS elements really makes it stand out from other games of the genre. As it says in the description, the game has two modes; Vanilla Mode and Play Hard Mode. Double entendre aside, Vanilla Mode is the standard rhythm-based part of the game. You lead a Pride parade through different levels based on real cities from around the world, smashing the arrow keys in time with the music. The bigger the combo you string together and the more accurate you are with pressing the keys or controller buttons, the more people will join the parade. Play Hard Mode is where the RTS mechanics come in. In this one you lead the parade with different subgroups of the LGBT+ community supporting you in the group. As you pass by different people in the crowd of onlookers, a symbol corresponding to one of the groups appears over their head and you have to have the corresponding group dance in front of them. When you do it enough, you'll gain more people in the crowd, making your parade stronger against the different homophobic counter protesters you'll encounter on your route. This mode is pretty interesting because, due to the parade constantly moving, you have to often times think fast with which crowd to focus on with which group. The different groups have different stats as well, some are more suited for defending against the homophobes (Which honestly would have been best suited for the "Ally" group, but I digress), while others are best used to pull more people into the parade. There are also boss battles in both modes, which... honestly could have been a lot better. They're easily the weakest part of the game, due to the commands not wanting to work half the time. Seriously, whether I used a controller or keyboard half the time it wouldn't register the arrow keys I was pressing and I would miss with my attack, when I really shouldn't have. I don't know if my game is just lagging while I'm playing, but if not an update fixing this would be very much appreciated. The soundtrack in this is pretty good too, very catchy and fits with the theme of the game. I've been to one Pride event and I could definitely hear this type of music playing at one. I might even pick it up as DLC to listen to in my spare time. Overall this is a very fun and pleasant game with a nice sense of humor, none of which feels mean-spirited, and some interesting gameplay for the Play Hard Mode. You should definitely check it out if it interests you or you like rhythm based games, you'll get some decent game time out of it, especially in the Play Hard Mode, unlocking the different other LGBT+ groups, and you'll be supporting a good cause while doing so with 10% of the revenue going to an LGBT+ organization. Pride Run is a game I think you'll like whether you're LGBT+ or not.
