Love this franchise. Sony sucks for removing upcoming titles from PC.
You will get stuck everywhere, enemy attacks will "slide" across the surface and the whole body of the enemy will move 5 meters towards you AFTER they've attacked you but before the animation fully finishes so they can hit you. The only reason to play this game is supposed to be the combat and hunting robotic dinosaurs with your bow and they just can't do it right. It's lazy and worse than the previous game.
Great game. Sony is witholding the end of the trilogy. ♥♥♥♥ Sony. Boycott in effect.
great game and story, unfortunate that sony will not be porting other games like this to pc in the future
A technical masterpiece sabotaged by a Twitter script Verdict: Thumbs down for the story, thumbs up for the gameplay. I loved Horizon Zero Dawn. Aloy’s character growth, the dark, unforgiving lore of the Old World, the organic worldbuilding—it was a true masterpiece and felt genuine. Forbidden West, on the other hand, breaks my heart because it is a brutal crash-landing narratively. The positive right out of the gate: The gameplay is absolutely insane and the only reason I'm still playing. The machine combat is mechanically top-tier, and the graphics are a dream. If you just roam the world, hunt, and figure out tactics, the game is a massive blast. The unbearable problem: The writing. The entire script feels like it wasn't written for a believable game world, but rather to tick off a modern checklist. The gritty survival feel from the first game was completely sacrificed for a constant, preachy, heavy-handed message. Character Demolition: There seems to be an unwritten law among the writers here. Every man is either an arrogant idiot, a whining coward, or gets degraded to a moronic sidekick (even the most battle-hardened warriors of the West literally only get to carry Aloy’s bags so she looks cooler). In return, every woman in a leadership position is infallible, wise, and heroic. That's not strong character writing; it's incredibly lazy and one-dimensional. Old fan favorites are turned into walking jokes. Destroyed Immersion: When I'm in a post-apocalypse where robo-dinosaurs are eating entire villages, and an NPC tinkerer cries to me about men stealing her job, or female warriors tell me their fallen brothers "should've stuck to their cleaning duties," I'm not in the Forbidden West anymore. I'm sitting in a modern HR seminar in a Stone Age costume. Bleeding Atmosphere: The brilliant audio logs from the first game that showcased the desperate, brutal end of humanity were watered down. Now you find filtered heroic tales where, completely unnaturally, almost every elite Old World military figure is female, just to meet a quota. Gaming is my escapism, you don't want to be constantly lectured with a forced moral pointing finger in a game at night. My advice: Buy it on sale for the amazing combat and the loot system. But do yourself a favor: ignore the side quests and keep your finger hovering over the skip button during the dialogues.
Massive Hit-Reg issues and graphical issues (get ready to stare at a blue screen layed on top of everything if you use Nvidia). Nothing worse than playing on Very Difficult and having your arrows literally clip through enemies, making you die because the game can't handle fast inputs. Also a note to devs: Putting Very Difficult on a "no change" setting is just about the stupidest thing I can think of. First I used mods to remove it (your stupid systems WILL be removed by those of us who are tech savvy. So why bother making them). Secondly, most devs turn their settings poorly so we as players usually need to go harder on the settings. But not being able to change them because you can't come up with some other way of locking players in a hard run and making sure they don't cheat is very stupid. All it does is force some of your players to either MOD or delete their save and restart. Which is a death sentence for the fate of the review of a game. Like me, I modded it out but then needed to restart anyways after a reinstall. And guess what, set it to normal to avoid the headaches of the issues listed here and the game is now a joke. I don't need to fight enemies, I don't need to do combat or upgrades. I just ignore enemies in the beginning where on Very Difficult I had to try. Which is why this dev fails so hard at an IP that should have been a no-brainer. The game modes are either baby easy or "upgrade everything before a cauldron or your game is toast". I'm either in a fight for my life on one setting, on just speed running everything on all other settings because of the lack of challenge. Other grips: Aloys stupid double jump off of a grapple. Introduced once, never used again. Bethesda travel is still the best way to navigate obstacles (that is, spamming jump against a nearly flat wall until you get over it). The general UI change from the last game to the next. The scan mini-screen in particular is very ugly. Like it was ripped for a game from 20 years ago.
第一部挺不错的 第二部相比前作除了风景画面加分 其他反而有点一般 第一步比较惊讶的剧情和世界观放在这一部都没怎么推进 这部的剧情好像就像个预告片引出第三部的boss 但是还是很期待第三部的
If you liked Horizon Zero Dawn, DO NOT BUY. This game is vastly different in it's systems and gameplay and to be frank INFERIOR. To cut it short; the machine enemies spam knockdown, AoE and elemental attacks NON STOP right from the start. Even the smallest machines lunge at you without much of a warning with many continuous melee or projectile attacks. Their projectiles in particular have an aimbot even the worst Counter Strike cheater can only dream about. Their melee attacks keep knocking you down and smashing you all over the place, and once you are down they will literally combo you to death. As for the big machines, like in the first game they have various attacks, weapons and a massive amount of health. The kicker? On higher difficulties they can literally one shot you with half of their abilities. Meanwhile you have to spam hundreds of arrows to tear off all their weapons just for them to execute an arbitrary lunge attack that has zero warning and a way too large hitbox area, again one shotting you and forcing you to repeat a 10 minute long battle. The machines have an overabundance of variations with way too many elemental differences, just like the weapons. As if it was fun to carry 6 different bows that you keep switching via inventory. Not to mention a few of the new weapon variants are just really really ♥♥♥♥, like the short range bow which couldn't hit the broad side of a barn 10m away. Among other issues like unacceptable hitboxes on the machines, the climbing mechanics sometimes becoming self conscious, the focus being unable to... focus... properly, controls being absolutely infuriating, the combat system alone makes me absolutely hate this game compared to the first one, and I played the first one on high difficulty, on PS4 with a controller. Massive L, wish I could delete my memory of this game so far and just never touch it. Not a worthy successor to HZD.
