Very fun game that you can 100% within 10-15 hours. This is a strong, emotional, and poetic message of alot of heavy themes and metaphors. This was a fun experience that I got to beat within one day and my only complaint is that I ran into a couple movement glitches. Aside from that if you are a big fan of norse mythology like me than this game right up your alley as well. Solid 9/10 for me <3
The hardest battles are fought in the mind.
Берите наушники, выключайте свет и готовьтесь сходить с ума https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3761781285 Here it is... a journey into the very heart of pain, loss, and madness. Thank you for shedding light on the topic of psychosis and showing how the death of a loved one can worsen it. Senua's story pierces straight to the soul, making you feel every step she takes. The sound is an art form in itself. Huge thanks to the team at GamesVoice for the voice acting. With it, the immersion into Senua's looking-glass world becomes simply incredible. The voices in her head, whispers, screams — all of it creates an atmosphere that sends chills down your spine. The musical interludes and sound design perfectly fueled the tension throughout the entire game. The graphics are highly aesthetic — dark, atmospheric, and richly detailed. Technical side — no issues whatsoever. Gameplay. The combat system is solid, but nothing to write home about. The puzzles are interesting and not too difficult. The only complaint I have is Senua's pace — sometimes I really wished she moved faster. Replayability. This experience is so emotionally draining that you won't want to go through it again anytime soon. But that's not a downside. It's just a very heavy and deeply profound story. Overall: 9 voices out of 10. I recommend it to anyone looking not for entertainment, but for art. Put on your headphones, turn off the lights, and get ready to lose your mind.
I came in expecting a simple action game, but Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice ended up being one of the most memorable psychological experiences I've played. The voices constantly talking in your head made me feel uneasy the entire time, and the game does a great job putting you in Senua's mindset. It's not a long game, but the atmosphere, sound design, and story stuck with me long after I finished it. Definitely worth playing with headphones.
Actually painful to complete. There are some good parts, the story, the voices, the acting, some of the areas are genuinely spooky especially towards the end but the game is let down by it's slow and painful puzzles. Every time I seen a 3 rune door I audibly groaned, running around a massive area, (while Senua is quite slow) looking for the runes to progress is torture. This wouldn't be so bad if the game was balanced with combat in between, but for story reasons about halfway through the game, the combat is dialled waaaay back - so it's back to 3-door-rune-hunting again for a few hours. Maybe I would have enjoyed this more 10 years ago on release, but it's just so ball bustingly painful to get through I wouldn't recommend it in the big 2026.
I really wanted to get into this game. I think the way this game handles mental illness is phenomenal, and the story so far is really good! It's just.. the actual gameplay kind of sucks, I'm sorry. It's a walking simulator with a few puzzles, which sucks because I LOVE Death Stranding 1 and 2 to death, and that’s a walking sim through and through. So to see Hellblade not hit the nail on my head makes me kind of sad ngl. Maybe one day I’ll come back and realize that I’m a fat chud and I’m wrong. However, despite me saying this, ♥♥♥♥ you, Microsoft, for shutting down Ninja Theory after they JUST announced a game at an Xbox Showcase, just like you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over the Perfect Dark game.
