After having well over 1000 hours on this game, play on both steam and oculus, and being here from launch. I can defiantly say that this game has went down hill a lot. Back in 2023-2024 this game was amazing, couple of bugs here and there, but now the game has 5x the amount of bugs. Every raid I go into I come across a bug. The devs also never want to listen the the community, they take away things people like and add stuff nobody asked for. Just saying this game has gotten really bad and cant wait for Legacy Tabor to come out.
First of all, this game does not close correctly when you exit. It stays running in the background until you force it to close through the steam library or task manager. This means, that if you're not paying attention after taking a break, it'll keep running in the background, counting time on steam, screwing you out of your option of getting a refund, assuming you're like me and didn't find this game worth the full price. The game has connectivity issues and voip issues. It just doesn't work most of the time. You get a friend in lobby, can't hear each other, have to spend several minutes troubleshooting sound through a discord call. You sort out your communication issues by just deciding to use discord instead of ingame voip and decide to deploy. You load in and immediately disconnect more often than not. When you try to load back in, it tells you that you can reconnect, so you click reconnect. It doesn't reconnect. You're back in the bunker realizing that you've lost your entire loadout due to that disconnect. Great. edit: I just noticed a patch, version 0.11.2 hotfix 3. It says it fixed some crashes and most importantly, the disconnect upon loading into a raid issue. I gave the game a try after this patch and it has in fact fixed the connection issues I was having before that led to part of my reason for a negative review, and the game process actually ends properly now when I exit the game. The voip issues are still just as common, however, which is the only reason I'm leaving the review negative. If they can fix it, I'll gladly change to a positive.

I decided to come back to this game after a couple years of not playing it. Somehow, almost ALL of the bugs that i hated were STILL THERE and MORE. I played for 51 minutes, as a veteran player, here's what I got. Bugs: 1. Items delivered by the conveyor can bunch up at the end where you cant reach them 2.Your body will be slightly tilted at an angle that will make it a chore to try and grab the backpack 3. You can take of your ammo pouches from your rig while its still on (I hope this wasn't intentional, because grabbing the rig and grabbing the pouches have the same button combo, so its just a matter of praying that you grab the rig first.) 4. MP5 charging handle not staying in place 5. Items will just decide randomly whether your hand has to be inside of them or a foot away to be able to pick them up Annoying/unfun systems: 1. Enemies can STILL lock on to you from a mile away while you're crouched on a hill. And they will still land at least 2 shots on you before you can even spot them 2. Bleeding of any type seems to make your screen fade to black at 5 second intervals, doesn't matter if its just a gunshot to the arm. Extremely annoying, basically makes fighting at a distance unwinnable. 3. The backpacks were reworked to be 10x more annoying and way worse for storage. Now every item HAS to be separated with no clipping whatsoever, otherwise it will fall out of the backpack. 4. The game is sooo dark in the homebase, and apparently the devs still think its fun and engaging to require an in-game item (gas cans) to be able to properly see in your own safe zone 5. The tutorial is fine for gun stuff that new players wouldn't know, but it teaches me literally nothing about how the new trading system works. I tried selling some items, and they just remained sitting on the conveyor belt, except they didnt have any value anymore. Was that a bug? No clue 6. More of a personal thing, but it would have been nice to just make the new and old islands of tabor into 2 separate maps. Idk what complications that would cause, but it would please everybody who likes the new and the old one. Revamping the classic map of a game with no option for coming back to it is crazy. And that's it from me. 51 minutes and I already hate the game. It just feels like nothing changed at all from the bad state it was in when i left. Don't recommend, wait for them to lock in and just focus on fixing things
game i bugs and still in early access and selling you dlc :(
i want to start off by saying i really do love this game i do but i cannot understand how a game that has been out since 2023 can still have the dumb glitches and bugs that it still does. Simply just trying to grab something out of backpack requires more effort than it should. for instance the hitboxes on pistols are so large you cant grab anything around it in the backpack without grabbing the damn pistol and this goes for all pistols not just one. the amount of time i die just due to that simple fact is insane. Imagine trying to heal and you grab a pistol that has no ammo in it or isnt loaded and die to a stupid scav because now they follow you. simply put the controls when grabbing things are horrible all the way around i got 100s of examples of this on many different items containers ect. how can i recommend a game that makes me want to break my headset into a 1000 pieces. I would love to be able to loot things without pickup my gun thats on my hip or thats stowed away for the moment. I would love to simply enjoy the game. In fact about a year ago give or take it was kinda perfect but ever since the last reset its sucked really dont even want to play it anymore and if i could get a refund i would. Please save yourself the trouble and buy a different game. Developers can change and fix these super super simple issues but just ignore them. Not to mention how many damn oxygen sensors do we need in the loot? I cant find keycards anymore. The only thing thats better is the fact you can loot a whole pc and even thats jank as hell. I dont even try to play pvp because of these issues now. It would just make it even worse. Honestly this game makes me want to sell my vr. Imagine wasting 45 mins of your life in a raid and dying because you couldnt grab meds from your backpack. also why is the performance so freaking bad??? literally the only game i have this issue with so i know its not my game. I cant even get a solid 60 fps most of the time and this will be the only thing running. I will change my review if these simple issues ever get fixed EDIT: I really really wish i could come back with something good but i cant. The legacy edition is a sad excuse for a cash grab. Nobody asked for this and your game is dying as it should. When gamers unite this is the result good luck coming back from this mistake. If steam would let me refund this I would. I am actually removing it from my lib no matter what.
Game is a lack-luster, janky, clunky mess with absolutely zero quality of life considered during development. Control scheme is out-dated, difficult to use, buggy and the furthest thing from competitive I've ever used in a VR FPS and that is unacceptable in an Extraction Shooter with absolutely top tier Risk Versus Reward mechanics. Interacting with the world around you always feels broken or difficult in some way. Graphics look like they belong in a very first alpha generation VR videogame. To top it all off a Dev or CEO known as "Scott" Openly and publicly displays a very deep disregard for respect towards others or his image, referring to his competitor as "Temu Tabor" and tossing insults their way instead of critique and respect like any competitor should. Let me tell you something directly, Scott: I promoted your game since day one of public alpha access, I've owned the supporter edition content since day one, shared your game with all of my friends and I'm here to tell you buddy, YOU are Temu Exfilzone if anything at all. With equal time spent in both games I'm here to tell you it looks better, runs better, plays better, respects my time and respects my efforts better Your game is dyeing, Scott, and it's almost entirely your own fault. When you learn to respect your customers and your competitors and learn to comport yourself with at least a tiny bit of class and decorum perhaps then and only then will your dumpster fire of a failure actually grow in to a game worthy of our respect.
If this was still 2024, I’d easily recommend this game. Right now? I can’t. This used to be one of the best VR experiences I’ve had — seriously, when it worked, it was incredible. But lately the game has gone downhill hard. There are way too many bugs, and performance on certain maps is just bad, both on PCVR and standalone. It’s frustrating because you can see how good the game can be, but in its current state it’s just not worth the time or money. If you’re thinking about buying it, wait. See if the devs fix the issues first. I really hope they do, because I genuinely used to enjoy this game.
Cant in good faith recommend a game so broken. They will release new microtransactions, but havent fixed game breaking glitches/crashes. In fact, theyve added way more every update and patch. Its a very obvious cash grab and it sucks cause its a very good game. It should be free with such an unfinished state as 'early access' feels a bit generous. If it somehow becomes less broken in the future, ill edit and revise. Until then, dont spend your hard earned money
Textbook example on how to kill a game. 1: Release it on a buggy, broken engine where items spin around in your hand if you grab them the wrong way and bags that phase through the world if opened at the wrong time. 2: Add 1 or 2 things every few months to tell people that the game receives consistent "updates", while fixing nothing in the process 3: When people are angry and start complaining about how broken your game is, how you add bare ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nothing each update, and that you're an egotistical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who care about nothing but profit; reply to their complaints with "skill issue" and shove a 5 dollar dlc down their throat. ♥♥♥♥ you Scott, and your sorry excuse of a game.
The Game is fun, however I struggle to reccomend it, AI is horrible, very inconsitent from locking on in the pitch black and shooting you on a roof when they are a good 80 feet below you with no nvg or flashlights to you walking up with in 10 feet before they acknoledge you, If you play PVE its you vs everyone, there is no variety in AI factions so they dont fight eachother, not enough guns IMO, sound from the weapons absolutley suck even after all the new sounds, I started only playing this game on my quest 3 as the steam version is way dareker and there is no brightness settings.Game feels janky AF, weapon handeling feels pretty bad but is ok once you adjust, VR implimented controls feel bad, try to grab your ammo from your ammo pouch, enjoy grabbing your rifle, want to take off your helemt, better take off that back pack first, I want to like this game, I have enjoyed it alot. When I look at other options I struggle to choose this game, I can go play Contractos exfil and have WAY better sound, Enemy AI dont have 2 brain cells fighting for 3rd place, The list goes on, I wont pretend Contractors is perfect, but when I look specifically at the way the game plays and feels, how the controls feel, how the AI behave, and the differnce in sounds additionally the maps feel like they have WAY more in contractors. I literally can not even play Tabor, the sound is bad, the AI ruins the immersion, the game feels Janky. Its a game that I really enjoyed for awhile, but after getting multiple $10 DLC and the game is still in the state its in I cant justify it, I cant even Recommend it. If you are interested try the game out, you might like it, how ever for my self I am done picking the worse option not that the game is bad, but when I really look at this and compare it Tabor actually sucks when looking at Contractors, Tabor does absolutley nothing better than Contracotrs and they both have issues, so I will take the one that is objectivley more polished and offers a more engaging experinece.
