Reviews
PGA Tour 2K25 absolutely nails the actual golf gameplay. The swing mechanics feel satisfying, courses look great, and when you’re actually on the fairway competing, the game is genuinely fun. It’s the best the series has felt in years. Unfortunately, everything around the golf feels designed to waste your time or squeeze your wallet. VC progression is painfully slow unless you’re willing to spend real money, which turns basic character progression into a grindfest. On top of that, the menus are absurdly overbloated, sluggish, and packed with unnecessary clutter that makes navigating the game feel like a chore. Great golf buried under greedy progression systems and terrible UI design.
I had hundreds of hours in 2K21, loved it, even with its flaws. I came back to it to find that 2K had delisted the game from Steam and shut down the servers, which killed even single player mode. 2K essentially stole this game from me, and I have zero reason to believe if they won't do the exact same thing with this game when they want to try to force people to buy a "new" game in a few years. Buy this on sale if you want, but have no illusions, you are not buying this game, you are renting it at full price, and it will disappear, never to be able to be played again. I will never buy another 2K game again.
2K21 and 2K23 were stolen from me after purchasing the premium editions. Cant enjoy relaxing steamdeck golf anymore on those games because HB Studios / 2K stole them. If you buy this they will take it from you in about 2 years.
I don't play golf. I'm over 60... so, I've seen a lot of games and I've changed in what I'm looking for in games. Try the Demo. I did. Now I'm playing a couple hours a week with a friend on some of the most amazing historical courses. It costs $695 for the greens fees alone for Pebble Beach. I've played there several times already and it only cost me $70 for the legend edition! Fun game. I may even try learning how to level up my character and some clubs. For now, I'm just having fun actually playing golf. Thanks 2k.
Absolutely outstanding golf game. Love it. However the menus absolutely suck and are slow as ♥♥♥♥ why??
It's a great game don't listen to the bad reviews. I just wish golf games would let you drive golf carts! A solid golf game with lots of options, bells and whistles. And it's cross platform in multiplayer.
The amount of microtransactions and pay-to-progress faster is just disgusting especially with how they constantly stick it in your face at every opportunity in game. It reeks of corporate greed and is a real distraction from what is otherwise a rather enjoyable golf game. I will NEVER purchase DLC for this game simply because of how pressured 2K makes me feel to do so. I'm finishing 4-round tournaments at -30 to -50 and have all these upgrade points for my player but I cant use them with also spending "VC" which is the in-game currency you either pay real money for to get immediately or earn at an agonizingly slow pace if you do it on your own. I only bought this game b/c it was on sale and I'm already regretting it. FU2K
Realism is on point. This game is a little grindy because everything is a little overpriced for the amount of virtual currency earned each match. However, if you do grind and level up your clubs the reward of improvement is massive.
The gameplay itself is actually really enjoyable and fun, but the constant stuttering and frame drops make the whole thing annoying as ♥♥♥♥ to play.
Gameplay itself is good, everything else around it sucks ass though, pay to win shop with stupidly long progression to actually grind items by playing the game, incentivising people into buying things with real money. Overly complicated rpg mechanics on clubs with fittings/ evo and levels, again only there as way to monetise it with fast track progression for real money
