Reviews
They broke the singleplayer at some point, not worth playing till they fix it.
If you are thinking about buying this for single player, Don't. The eternal league is broken and doesn't let you progress games around half the time. Will waste your time.

I enjoy Blood Bowl very much, and this game was done reasonably well. However, when my internet went down recently, I lost access to all of my local, single-player teams. It makes no sense. There's no reason to ping a server when playing a local game -- as it does every time you buy a player or make an upgrade -- and makes me wonder what will happen when their servers eventually shut down for good. In other words: buyer beware. This game may eventually be unplayable.
Better than Blood Bowl 3
Was fun when single player worked...back in like 2019. The last patch, nuked SP...and once they made BB3, they just decided to never actually make BB2 playable. ... This is a niche inside of a niche thou, they completely DESTROYED their rep with playerbase.
If you enjoyed the Board game version of this, you'll love this! If you've never played with the minis before but you like football and fantasy races...you'll love this. If you don't like football or fantasy races but enjoy gratuitous violence...you'll love this. If you don't like any of those things...why are you reading this?
Better than BB3
The expansion of team types is welcome the lack of management options for teams is an utter pain. There are one off friendly and solo campaign modes but the team management system is entirely set up for online match and league play. You cannot set up your own teams and leagues and play them solo or local PVP you can not carry over experience for your custom team in friendly matches the whole system is extremely inflexible. I think designed by someone who does not understand the blood bowl player base.
BB2 is still king, despite of confusing UI and simple-ish AI.
This is a highly niche game based off of the table top game. So I really only recommend it for people who are familiar and like the table top game. I own the first one but not on steam, there is a Bloodbowl 3. I like this because it's closer the table top edition I am familiar with, then 3. There is a lot of DLC in the forms of teams added since launch. I don't understand their pricing model for DLC's, 14.99 for 8 teams or, 6.99 for one. I like the game I don't recommend it unless you are fan of playing table top. This needing a server even in single player is why I don't recommend it. One day the servers will gone, and you won't be able to play your game because of the way they made it. So If you don't own it already, I wouldn't buy it. The single player mode will be dead when the servers go down; because it needs to connect to make a team, game results, and a host of other things no single player game mode should ever need to do. It is not that I don't like this game, it's just made with a limited life span and it's old now. The servers tend to not connect at times, and once the servers are down for good it will be unplayable. Which is why I don't recommend it. If you don't already own it I am not sure it will be worth buying, or last but so long. It's not this developer specifically, but a lot of ways they make games needing to connect to servers constantly for even single player lately have given a bad taste in my mouth, for if they might just pull the plug one day and leave you with a game you paid money for and paid for DLC for, but is unplayable at some point.
