Reviews
This is a pure tactical puzzle. I loved the top-down view and the ability to plan out your team's path before hitting "go." It’s very satisfying when a plan comes together perfectly, but it requires a lot of patience to get through the harder maps without losing a squad member. [The Breakdown] Graphics: Potato-friendly; clean top-down style Gameplay: Addictive; very strategic Story: Non-existent Difficulty: Hard to master Grind: None Worth the price? Yes Rating: 8/10
The best join-the-dots game for murderers.

Rainbow Six in a top-down view | KAMGUSTA's MINI REVIEW As title says, this is a strategic/tactical action/simulation of a rescue squad. It plays in real-time, but you manage it by pausing and issuing orders. It's simple, but difficult to master. A nice and robust game, but if you like these types of games you're better buying its sequel: "Door Kickers 2" which enhances it in every way. It's also great its spin-off: "Door Kickers: Action Squad", but it's a different genre of game. Best played with keyboard & mouse Recommended buy price: 5$ Score: 7/10
A mixed one, the first missions start great and are alot of fun, but the tactical view is barebone. you rely on the team to work and react ontime, and enemys like the VIP Escort mission are cheating, so enemys will spawn from the outside step in and throw grenades thats stupid. aswell as moving sometimes the same will have different outcomes. so incase of it beeing a special game and a great idea i have to admit YES its awesome, but as a tactical simulation its bad and if you want to plan something like lets say in the old rainbow six games and watch it happen you will get so much problems its not worth your time.
Door Kickers is a top-down, real-time tactics game that puts you in control of a SWAT team tasked with executing high-stakes raids, hostage rescues, and counter-terrorism operations, it blends fast-paced action with deep strategic planning, making it one of the more compelling entries in the tactical shooter genre. What sets Door Kickers apart is how it ditches traditional turn-based tactics in favor of a hybrid system where you pause time to issue orders, then watch the operation unfold in real time. This approach creates a satisfying loop of plan, execute, and adapt, where the success of a mission often hinges on precise timing, smart angles, and learning from failure. At its core, the gameplay revolves around the planning phase. Before each mission begins, you have the opportunity to draw paths for each operator, stack them at doors, position them to breach, and assign specific actions like flashbang throws, door kicking, or synchronized entry. The controls are intuitive and responsive, allowing you to layer commands and make fine adjustments with ease. Once the plan is set, you hit play, and your team springs into action. You can pause the mission at any time to revise your strategy mid-operation, which adds a dynamic layer of flexibility and keeps the gameplay feeling fluid and reactive. The tension builds as each room is cleared, never knowing if a hidden gunman might be lurking just out of view. That blend of planning and execution is what gives Door Kickers its unique edge—it rewards patience, tactical thinking, and rapid adaptation. The mission design is where Door Kickers truly shines. Each level is compact but dense, requiring you to think like a real-life SWAT commander. Room layouts, enemy placements, and hostage locations are randomized just enough to keep replayability high while still maintaining a sense of structure. The game gradually introduces more complex mission types, like bomb defusal or VIP protection, which force you to rethink your standard tactics. As your team gains experience, you unlock new classes and abilities, from breachers and stealth units to shield carriers and snipers. Each operator can be customized with different gear and weapons, and the progression system strikes a good balance between giving players meaningful upgrades without becoming a grind. Visually, Door Kickers adopts a clean, minimalist art style that complements its strategic focus. The top-down perspective and detailed room layouts make it easy to read the battlefield at a glance, while subtle lighting and audio cues add to the tension. The environments are varied enough to keep the gameplay from feeling repetitive, and small details—like the sound of a flashbang echoing through a hallway or the muffled thud of a door being breached—add a satisfying level of immersion. The interface is straightforward, and mission objectives are always clearly communicated, allowing players to focus on tactics rather than struggling with navigation or cluttered HUDs. The game does have a few limitations. While the campaign is lengthy and the community-created missions extend the content even further, the lack of a narrative or character development might make it feel sterile for players looking for a more story-driven experience. The learning curve can also be steep for newcomers unfamiliar with tactical shooters, especially when dealing with line-of-sight mechanics or mastering the timing of simultaneous actions. That said, these challenges are rarely frustrating—Door Kickers encourages trial and error, and each failure feels like a learning opportunity rather than a punishment. Over time, you begin to develop an instinct for room clearing, target prioritization, and how to manipulate the layout to your advantage. What makes Door Kickers especially impressive is how well it supports multiple styles of play. Whether you're a perfectionist who wants to plan every second with frame-accurate precision, or a more fluid strategist who prefers adjusting on the fly, the game accommodates both approaches. It also features a powerful mission editor, which has resulted in a robust modding community that continues to breathe new life into the game years after release. Between the official levels, user-created scenarios, and customizable squad loadouts, Door Kickers offers an incredible amount of content and variety for its price point. In summary, Door Kickers is a masterclass in real-time tactical planning. It captures the thrill and complexity of close-quarters combat without the need for flashy graphics or bombastic storytelling. The focus is squarely on intelligent design, rewarding precision, teamwork, and adaptability. It's a game that appeals to both hardcore strategy fans and casual players willing to invest the time to learn its systems. Whether you're meticulously breaching a room or recovering from a failed raid with a new approach, Door Kickers is an endlessly satisfying experience that proves that good tactics, not twitch reflexes, are what save the day. Rating: 9/10
Is it no longer possible to play this game on macOS? I’d like to know if there are any plans to support 64-bit. I can’t wait any longer for Door Kickers 2 to be officially released! Please save me.
