Painfully mediocre game, hard to believe we got this after eternal. Movement feels very sluggish and awkward. They really wanted to kill quick switching weapons in this one. I think its mostly fault of adding sprint... ???!!! Sprint in a Doom game? Wut? And that brings us to the main reason I don't really like this game, it doesn't feel like a doom game, especially through first half, so much boring cutscenes, the lore should have stayed vague and minimal, it was already not good in eternal. The mech, dragon sections are not good. Open map levels are just badly designed. Maps have doors locked behind a key that you have to get towards the end of the level and have to run through empty map again to collect stuff for upgrades, such a bad design. There is a lot of backtracking if you are trying to collect stuff. Mini map is bad, doesn't show doors, shows passages where there aren't any and so on. Areas are also way too big for no good reason. All guns feel very similar and don't really feel good to use. The combat basically revolves around holding fire button and waiting for parry windows with some dodging bullets, although projectiles are so big a lot of the times you are forced to block them. Sometimes when you chain and interpolate melee, parries and guns combat can feel nice, but its nothing like adrenaline rush of eternal or even 2016. Raytracing requirement is an obvious sellout to nvidia, there is no benefit to it, I'd argue it even worsens visuals since all lighting is so soft and blurry. I'd give this game so so review, but for mandatory raytracing it gets not recommended. Can't wait till its unplayable when nvidia discontinues raytracing gimmick just like physics. TLDR: Might be worth checking out on big discount, don't expect anything particularly good.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 58.43/day in the week to Jul 30 → 59.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you liked the part where you had to dip, dash and dive in Eternal you will find this game boring. When starting the story you will want to get close to the mancubus to get it to do that AoE attack, you will then find out there is no dash. You're slow, no double jump and the shield is literally 3/4 of the game. They replaced skill based movement with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shield. I got this thing on sale and honestly am glad because the game is really that easy. Turn the parry windows down on nightmare and you can still beat most of the game without dying if you can time things well
I don't know if I need to play more but after 7 hours this game sucks a** .The dragon stuff and the giant robot sections are a joke, I wish I could just skip them. The rest of the game is not any better everything is just as bad weapons, the music and sfx are garbage and the level design is awful. I loved the previous games the levels were soo good and the enemies were perfect, I cant believe they just recycled most of them and made them worse, now everything is brown and slooooooow. First time I regret buying a Doom game. Icing on the cake is that it looks worse but somehow u need a better PC to play this compared to eternal.
Idk wtf this studio did but this isn't Doom... Past Dooms have been wonderful this one is pretty damn bad. Gameplay right away was lame, soundtrack sounds like AI slop ♥♥♥♥ too. Refunded.
I have been playing DOOM since its shareware days and I did enjoy its "Dark Ages" theme. The scenery as with all recent DOOM games is top notch, and even with a lot on screen manages to run very smoothly. The music, one of my favorite aspects of the modern DOOM games is also top notch and keeps you pumped up for the constant action. This experience of course is basically linear and really becomes a run and gun. That said.... I miss creep and horror based DOOM. DOOM 3 for me was amazing. While I love the run and gun, if the dev ever came back with a solid horror based DOOM I would be the first to pre-prder.
Best entry in the series, they really cooked here, absolute masterpiece. Visually insane, the art design and locations are so cool and the gameplay is perfect, the parry feeling with the shield is great and guns feel really nice. Just a banger. Now... The Revelations Expansion >>> Truly one of the best expansions I've ever played. It feels even bigger than the base game: more intense, lots of different combat encounters, and massive replayability. The spear is absolutely insane, because if you were already a godlike tank in the base game, now you're a godlike tank with wings and cocain3. It's so much fun. The fights in this expansion were also some of the only ones that genuinely had me on edge because of their intensity and difficulty, which made the game even more fun and challenging. Definitely a 10/10 expansion. They absolutely cooked here. I still say it, even more than before: Best DOOM EVER.
Game is an easy 8/10 for its base game on immediate post-launch. With Update 2, max of 8.3. Post DLC however, 9.5/10. Absolutely wonderfully fun game, a perfect lovechild of Dark Ages and Eternal.
