I wish I could finish this game. but it just isn't much fun, they put more effort into the pre release marketing than the game itself. you will enjoy the previous entry's they are great
there cant be any comparison between this one and eternal. they are completely different experiences with their own gameplay and settings. after playing the dlc, i think i prefer shield over spear, even though im a huge eternal fan. the catch is that if i wanted to play eternal, i would play it, instead of the dark ages. shield gives more unique and tanky gameplay that suits this medieval setting more than vertical spear one. for me, spear felt like a over-complication with its huge diversity of various gimmicks. thats my opinion and i understand that appearance of the spear was brought to by eternal fans and huge thumbs up to devs for listening to them. i didnt like the spear and thats ok, i just used the shield. absolutely no problem. also absolutely love the ability to tweak difficulty settings and game speed. had a blast beating it on ultra-violence 150% speed.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 58.43/day in the week to Jul 30 → 59.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Painfully mediocre game, hard to believe we got this after eternal. Movement feels very sluggish and awkward. They really wanted to kill quick switching weapons in this one. I think its mostly fault of adding sprint... ???!!! Sprint in a Doom game? Wut? And that brings us to the main reason I don't really like this game, it doesn't feel like a doom game, especially through first half, so much boring cutscenes, the lore should have stayed vague and minimal, it was already not good in eternal. The mech, dragon sections are not good. Open map levels are just badly designed. Maps have doors locked behind a key that you have to get towards the end of the level and have to run through empty map again to collect stuff for upgrades, such a bad design. There is a lot of backtracking if you are trying to collect stuff. Mini map is bad, doesn't show doors, shows passages where there aren't any and so on. Areas are also way too big for no good reason. All guns feel very similar and don't really feel good to use. The combat basically revolves around holding fire button and waiting for parry windows with some dodging bullets, although projectiles are so big a lot of the times you are forced to block them. Sometimes when you chain and interpolate melee, parries and guns combat can feel nice, but its nothing like adrenaline rush of eternal or even 2016. Raytracing requirement is an obvious sellout to nvidia, there is no benefit to it, I'd argue it even worsens visuals since all lighting is so soft and blurry. I'd give this game so so review, but for mandatory raytracing it gets not recommended. Can't wait till its unplayable when nvidia discontinues raytracing gimmick just like physics. TLDR: Might be worth checking out on big discount, don't expect anything particularly good.
portal 2 XXX supermario in disguise. nothing to do with DOOM. DOOM died at eternal.
this game is assssssssssss
ID soft takes a bold swing with a new formula which starts off strong in the base game but quickly falls flat after the first few levels due to heavy focus on cut scene and story telling which really gets in the way of the action far too often. While you are given a vast arsenal of weapons, the base game is not very demanding in terms of skill ceiling as you can just spam rocket launcher and supershot gun your way through everything. THAT BEING SAID, THE DLC IS SOMETHING ELSE. The DLC demands utter mastery, impeccable timing, and delivers far better enemies, combat encounters and basically reminds you why DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal were so beloved. Also the OST in the DLC is far far better than the utterly boring, generic, and uninspired music of the base game
Phenomenal game. Enemy variety, weapon variety, map layout, mech combat, and difficulty are all superb. I personally played the main campaign on Ultra Violence and the DLC on Nightmare and nothing seemed too unfair. Every encounter is very doable as long as you have determination. The main story ties heavily into Doom: Eternal with the Makyrs and the Night Sentinels being extremely prevalent throughout. The DLC also ties into Eternal and a little into Doom: 2016 which was seriously awesome, as that is my favorite entry in the series. Achievements were quite easy, with the only difficult ones being related to collectibles. Just follow a YouTube guide and you'll breeze through the grind of finding everything. I bought both the main game and the DLC for $32 which I think is a steal. I highly recommend waiting for a discount as no game is worth $70, unless it cures cancer.
As always, we see a great version with an even better story from Bethesda. The story of the game is so interesting that I want to go to the end and experience its new DLC. The game is optimized and has great gameplay. It is also fast and attractive. It is not even a single beat. Overall, it is a great experience. I recommend it to players.
