I kinda do understand the negative reviews but I find that the challenges for the most part are pretty fun and unique. The achievements for this DLC are pretty hard and a few of them are luck based which can be frustating. If u want some fun challenges that make u use the mechanics in a way u would not normally do then buy this. Just be wary of the achievements and be prepared if ur into getting 100%.
10/10 game, dlc makes it -10/10

Dunwall City Trials is a DLC with no story that offers the player ten challenges of varying difficulty. As the name suggests, its purpose is to test the player's skill and patience through a series of demanding trials focused on stealth, action, puzzles, and mobility. You get exactly what you expect: ten very difficult and gimmicky stages that are highly dependent on RNG, along with five additional expert-level challenges that will haunt you. On their own, the challenges are mostly boring busywork that progresses very slowly and forces you to spend countless hours repeating the same actions on the same maps while praying for favorable random numbers. Personally, I only enjoyed Mystery Foe and Burglar because the game's foundation is on stealth, making the other eight challenges feel like something the game simply cannot handle very well. That, however, is not the main problem, nor is it the reason behind the overwhelmingly negative reviews. The real issue is the achievement list. There are ten new achievements tied to nearly every challenge, and they are simply absurd. Not only because of the extremely specific requirements or the heavy influence of RNG, but also because the game's engine is not properly coded to handle such precision. For example, one achievement requires landing only headshots, but during the enemy's desk analysis animation, the side hitbox disappears. In Bend Time Massacre, the bonus rounds often fail to register the required actions correctly. In Bonfires, the trick jumps frequently do not work at all, making the 1.2% achievement rate entirely understandable. Overall, this DLC feels like a pointless cash grab cobbled together in a short amount of time to capitalize on the hype generated by the base game.
It was…FUN!
This DLC acts as roadblock to 100% Dishonored. Every challenge is a one-trick pony, complicated by wobbly hitboxes and randomness. Make sure to have a high frame rate and no frame drops otherwise the game won't work properly.
I hate this DLC with every fiber of my being
.
Back alley brawl is the most fun ♥♥♥♥ i ever played, this game benefits from these type of replayable arcade modes since the combat is so well done and you can fight without worrying about high chaos, sadly they didn't bring this back to Dishonored 2 i don't even know why, if it is bc of how hard it is to get achievements, yall are just fats and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ completist that ruins the fun. What is the fun of always having to show off your 100% on videogames that you got by watching guides and copying the steps with no efforts whatsoever?
