I bought it when it came out and it was so much fun in co-op and trying to sneak around and not get found out by the robothunters. + Very good atmosphere and scary + You can generate new islands easily with the seed system - Devs broke the multiplay system with a strange "Update" that was more of a "Downdate", me and a friends struggled so much to get it to work. At one point I think we tried to use Radmin or Hamachi, not 100% sure. Just remember we uninstalled it and feelt angry about that they developers seemed to on purpose break this supergood game to get people to buy their new game with similar content but far inferior gameplay and atmosphere. Now its also lister under "Singleplayer" even though the intended gameplayloop allways was a co-op experience. Its sad.
A charming little trip through the British countryside, complete with courteous robot gentlemen who would very much like to murder me. It turns out "pastoral" can be surprisingly menacing.
They say it's brutally funny. I say it's incredibly boring after 1st walkthrough.
Sir, You Are Being Refunded
I went into this game genuinely excited, but it didn’t take long for that enthusiasm to evaporate. The enemy AI is, without exaggeration, one of the weakest aspects of the entire experience. Enemies either stand still waiting to be shot, run in straight lines like they’re following a script from 2005, or get stuck on the environment in ways that completely break immersion. There’s no sense of strategy, no adaptation, no tension — just predictable patterns that make every encounter feel like a chore rather than a challenge. Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn’t do much to compensate. It’s painfully repetitive, offering the same loop over and over with almost no variation. What should have been exciting combat scenarios quickly turn into mindless button‑mashing sessions. Even the missions that try to mix things up fall flat because the core mechanics lack depth and creativity. After a couple of hours, I found myself playing out of obligation rather than enjoyment. In the end, the game feels like a missed opportunity. With better AI and more engaging gameplay design, it could have been something memorable. Instead, it’s just disappointingly dull. If you’re looking for a dynamic, challenging experience, this one is hard to recommend.
While Sir, You Are Being Hunted has a unique atmosphere (it offers a British countryside ambiance with amusing and somewhat charming Victorian-style robots with very British humour; the game's the first tweedpunk survival FPS), the gameplay quickly becomes repetitive. Most of the time is spent walking, scavenging, and avoiding enemies, which starts to feel tedious after a few hours. The combat is clunky and unsatisfying, and the AI can behave unpredictably. Combined with the game's slow pace and minimal story, it can be difficult to stay engaged in the long run. I've managed to complete a run, but for me the game's just not entertaining enough to justify another playthrough, and I cannot recommend it in good conscience, as for its full price, I just don't feel it's worth the time.
I have such fond memories with this game, the first early access game I ever supported. I love the unique concept.
Dubious.
Its a fun game but I spent about 5 hours playing a campaign only to have it ruined because one of the "fragments" you are supposed to retrieve is stuck in the terrain, making it impossible to take. Anyhow besides that the ai is maybe impressive on the surface, there are search patterns, patrols, even false alarms, which are really cool, you can watch your robot pursuers engage in a little bit of fratricide which is very fun. However, I suppose the team at this point exhausted itself because the robot behavior during gun battles can leave a little to be desired. Ok, right buddy run up through that field to the guy with a long range rifle and clear sightline, stuff like that. The world is beautiful, really wonderful to explore and stumble upon new landmarks and the giant vistas before running off to a safe place, generally the shore of an island, and rummaging through your supplies ready to embark on another expedition. reminds me of exploration rpgs strangely enough. Something like Thousand Threads or weirder Sunless Sea, that might just be me. Someone should steal the setting of this game, or rather yet be inspired by it, to make some sort of exploratory rpg.
