Battlevoid: Sector Siege is an epic straight into action real-time space strategy game, in which the world has been built to deliver a lively battle field; and the action is never more than just seconds away at the start of every game.

I enjoyed the predecessor, Harbinger, but I felt like there was room for improvement, especially in the tech department. I feel like this game added the tech I wanted, but at the same time took away all of the fun. Sad. Not sure why it is so hard to find a game developer that takes what they learned and build on it, rather than try something new, and throwing away whatever they learned... For me, this is a no.
Looks really good, plays bad.
I've been playing this on mobile and I'm about half way through the easy campaign. There are SO many improvements and balances from Harbinger, for example, point defence is useful against destroying ships due to the main weapons getting reduced range. Hangars are no longer the game's meta (unlike in Harbinger) and the meta seems to be non-existent, at least for easy difficulty. I really like the ability to build your OWN stations, even if they are very simple (I really like the designs of them too!). I like the upgrade system, where instead of just upgrading a single weapon, you upgrade the weapon as a whole which means that every place that the weapon is used will receive the upgrade (This is one of my favourite aspects), on the topic of upgrades, you don't even need the weapon installed on any ship/station to upgrade it! I honestly have nothing negative to say about Sector Siege. Harbinger is still one of my favourite games, but Sector Siege may be taking the crown for me. Edit: I recently came across a couple of quite possibly game breaking metas, for example the PD energy gatling deals an absurd amount of shield AND hull damage. Nukes are rather powerful and it can be hard to shoot them down. Either way, that is the only bad thing I have to say for it. (I still really enjoy the game)
It´s ... booring und clunky. It´s the good idea of merging Battlevoid with Z, sadly just the idea right now.
The learning curve in Battlevoid: Sector Siege is steeper compared to the first game in the series, which initially made me think that this is not a fun game to play. After completing a couple of missions and getting a good grip on the system, I like this a lot. It's a different game for sure and probably not intended at all to replicate the mechanics of the first Battlevoid game, for which reason I think it's kind of unfair to compare this game to that one. TL;DR: An enjoyable game!
Good little game with some flaws. Balance of upgrades needs some tweaking and unlocks are sort of lackluster - they all sound great, but all the new tech has to be researched in-game and I don't see a reason to research new weapons when it takes half the game to research them and doing so forces you to neglect basic research (like economy boosts, hull boost, and shield boost). Why research gatling guns when cannons get the job done and you can fully upgrade them for only a bit more than the base level gats? So, balance needed. Other than balance issues, once you figure out that there are two types of game mode (destroy the main enemy station/mothership and survive for X waves) you can basically get through any mission without issue. I haven't completed the game but it seems like it will be a bit of a slog due to the other issue - not a lot of need to alter play style and all missions fall into the above two stated categories. So its sort of a grind, with no real reason to complete or unlock everything. Still, for a cheap game it's enjoyable.
