Great taste, but awful execution. Artwork, music and theme are amazing but that's it, there is no substance to gameplay. It reminds me of a DPS based P2W mobile game turned single player.
They made a whole game, all the frame work and everything, and stopped right before finishing it. All it needs is a few more upgrade choices and tweaking the stats of the ships to actually mean something. If this game had a workshop for mods it would have a HUGE following I bet.

This is a top down fleet command game with persistent fleet comp between missions. It has you advance from node to node where most nodes are randomly chosen from a far too small list. Escort missions, defend against wave missions, and kill or capture nodes missions. Once you get to the end of the map, you go to ANOTHER sequential map where you make a seemingly meaningless choice of 3 types of nodes to pick from, but this one is a binary progressing path. The combat is fine, but very repetitive, not much enemy variety. Final boss encounter design isn't very engaging, and isn't explained at all (though isn't exactly challenging to figure out). This game sounded cool enough for me to buy it (on sale), and I don't exactly regret it, it's not something I'd recommend to others to buy now (2023).
Great game! ))) - micromanagement is COOL! - you can snipe down any enemy with lancer, you can tank it with dreadnought etc - game is hard, so need to read tips first - BUT when you realize how to play! ))) game become GREAT )) TIPS: - always move - hit and run - retreat if need - buy dreadnought - sell weapons - buy lancer - AND now you have 3 start ships - visit ALL sectors You will have the deadlest fleet ever )))
Neat idea, but falls flat compared to ftl or any game ever that has replay value. This game has basically no radomazation nor reason to keep playing, not many items ships events, anything. Everything is lackluster. Still pretty and fun, so def worth at least 3 bucks, but not much more then that
I'm going to have to echo some of the other reviews and comments I've seen. The actual combat is great, but everything else is very...unpolished. I don't mind some of the FTL nature of the story or the map progression, but two games in a row one of the points immediately adjacent to the start was a place that would sell me more things. You know, with the $0 I still have after outfitting my fleet with a store full of all the options. And then managed to progress through two entire sectors without having to fight anything and mostly just burning through supplies. And then the exit sector is just a sector that gives you the prompt "this is the exit" and you have to manually leave the sector, choose a new sector, get the "welcome to the sector" prompt and then leave again. Holy moly, that could have been streamlined A LOT. But yeah, most places wanted to sell me stuff when I went through the dialog trees including this place where I showed up, the stationmaster was drunk, and I told him I'm taking one of his ships...and then was required to pay for it at market price. Like, how the fok do you expect me to have $23,000 credits on me? I wasn't even given the option to buy supplies, even if I'd been able to afford any. Definitely lacks in the "get free stuff" department as fights just award you some cash and maybe some (2) supplies. And not even a lot of cash either (like $2300, which is enough to buy 2 jumps worth of supplies). So yeah, 90% of my time was spent jumping from sector to sector, finding nothing of note, and leaving. Then I'd get into a fight, have to micro my ships around to evade shots because the AI is dumb, win, and barely scrape together enough resources to make a few more jumps.
Booooorrrrriiiiinnnnngggg
A fleet that probably should rethought getting back up. --- This game is a mixed bag for me. While it can be fun for a bit, the difficulty can scale quite a bit quickly, ending with a rough final boss fight. The game barely gives you enough resources to maintain your fleet, let alone expand so it become less of finding different comps that work and more of finding the one cheapest comp that works.
Poor homeworld 2 clone, repetitive missions that gets boring soon, with an incomplete plot at the end. Even the mission maps gets repeated multiple times
