Slip into the role of Daniel Hanson, commander of the first mission to a remote planet called Meridian. Assured of the fact that the planet is uninhabited, the unexpected reception of a distress call from the surface could mean many things, none of which you are prepared for.

Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The game crashes to desktop with Microsft XNA related errors. It cannot be played.
Meridian: New World was an old (2014) RTS game, now 10 years old at the time of this review, and it's broken. As mentioned in the warning above, the game simply doesn't run. A quick look at the discussion forums for this game shows a HUGE list of gamers who tried to play this and couldn't. I can't blame people for wanting to try, RTS is a great and also badly underserved genre on Steam... so it makes sense so many people would have tried to play this and fail. I really wanted to try out the game myself. But here's the thing... gamers should not have to go throwing diagnostics at discussion forums just to play a game they paid for. Nobody should be applauding a developer for sitting on a forum and once every week or so responding to the dozens of gamers who can't launch the game they paid for. You know why? SOFTWARE TESTING. It is 100% the responsibility of the developer to TEST THEIR GAMES. It is 100% the responsibility of the publisher to ensure the game is not published unless it's tested. And if the developer wants to keep their game up for sale on Steam, they have a duty of care to ensure the game works on the majority of gaming PCs in the ecosystem. If a new OS version is introduced, they have the obligation to make sure their game works on it. If it doesn't, they have to patch it. If they refuse to fix defects this severe, they shouldn't be trying to sell the product! Failure for developers to test their games and keep them updated should never become a problem on the part of gamers. But here, it has. Worse, in this case the developer is fully aware of just how defective the game is. There is simply no excuse for this! Unethically, the developers have left this on the Steam store in an unplayable and broken state. This is harmful to Steam and to gamers, because it takes a share of the marketing space and visibility away from other games. It's polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuine games and for genuine indie developers who put months or years into making proper games find an audience. So, should you buy this broken game? Absolutely not. The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the almost comically optimistic (if it wasn't so sad) price of $7 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them.
Iv noticed alot of negative comments which i dont think it deserves, i havent fully played through it but have played i honestly didnt mind it, Being a newbie indie dev myself using unreal 5 i have respect for the devs who actually make games that arent shovelware as i know first hand it isnt as easy as people think, and i believe respect is due for the hard work involved. Especially considering its one person making it and not some AAA company which has a ton of cash to spend on assets.
Horrible RTS. The campaign, which is basically all this game has, quickly becomes a chore due to terrible game mechanics. The story is vaguely interesting, but not enough to be worth playing through 13 bad missions. If you want something similar to this, get Meridian Squad 22. It's the sequel to this game and the game mechanics are much, much better. It's still a B tier RTS, but at least it's somewhat fun to play, unlike this game.
Tudo e mais um pouco sobre: Meridian: New World - "Um RTS singular." (Valxb21) recomendo. ### Jogabilidade **Click, click, victory!** - **Estilo**: RTS (Real-Time Strategy). ### Nota Final **De 0 a 10…** - Nota: **7.5**.
Visuals are too washed out and the units and buildings don't stand out from the enviroment, making you question what is what. The pathfinding is Terrible and you have your units waddling all over the place instead of the intended location the prompt to select stuff is weird, as some objects will have a too large "selection" area, so if a unit is besides it, you can't seem to click said unit without a lot of fiddling. No camera controls and the zoomed in view we do have, feels restrictive and annoying. Missions and objectives dont make sense and at times can have some of the most tedious scenarios to progress through it geniuenly feels like a RTS game without everything that makes a good RTS game
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
This game was just not very good. very cheap, ai not working that great.
Subpar RTS. By no means am I particularly immaculate at any strategy game, but I can usually limp across the finish line at most at the bare minimum. This game, at least story wise, is so incredibly unfair in its design that it punishes you most steps of the way. Want to route a destination for your units? Watch as they fumble through in the most un-optimal pathing often veering off of it to who-knows-where. Do you want your units to just sit tight? You’ll be damned sure they will follow an enemy unit who so much as grazes their vision to the ends of the planet. Maybe you just need a bit of extra time to set up before you can launch a proper offense/defense… well the enemy just somehow had pristine control and amassed 3x the forces you ever could. This doesn’t even regard the forced minigames in some sections that require you to build a turret defense against waves of enemies with limited and hardly recoverable resources, or sneak through an enemy base with a unit that does not want to follow the most simple pathing you set. Eventually I had to give up as the frustrations were not worth whatever uninspired story the game was trying to tell. At best the game does okay in any one category but fails in most others, but I’m just a casual at RTS so I may not be the expert here.
