Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Assassin's Creed Origins had potential in almost every single one of its twenty avenues to be a fantastic game. Unfortunately, the majority of its potential was squandered by expected, but nonetheless disappointing choices by the development team.
Overview
I do not have anything whatsoever against any single person who created this game but the Ubisoft team as a whole just pissed me off here. You are telling me that you chose to make a multifaceted, beautiful, historical RPG set in Ancient Egypt in a time of extreme political instability and still decided to make it about Assassin's Creed? Genuinely, why was it even an Assassin's Creed game?? I get that it is supposed to represent the beginning of the creed, but WHO CARES? No one pays attention to the game-spanning storyline and creating this entire narrative and then suddenly shoehorning the "creation of the creed" into the end was very disappointing for me. Luckily, the majority of the game had nothing to do with Assassin's Creed, despite when the mission objectives would say "assassinate so and so" , but would just be a bossfight. However, my single favorite plot point was Aya and Bayek's relationship, and (SPOILER) I think that the game is technically very solid, with some minor issues that I have and will touch on below, and that the gameplay is perfectly serviceable. The major issues I have come in the form of the narrative and the game's purpose as a historical exploration. I'd assume I would have this problem with any of the modern Assassin's Creeds, but I also just wished I had been playing *Ghost of Tsushima* instead. GoT is the cooler, more polished, more interesting, more fun, and more beautiful version of *Assassin's Creed Origins*. I know that they are different games, exploring different themes and most importantly, set in vastly different locations, but why couldn't Origins have been more like GoT?? It is a highly polished and actually fun (rather than grindy) version of the already-established Assassin's Creed formula. Also, one more critique I have it the level cap system. I understand the purpose. But why does every single enemy have to possess a level that defines every single interaction with them?? And why can I, at level 30 and almost at the end of the game, barely deal damage to a level 34 enemy, but can one-shot any level 20 enemy? This system of extreme level scaling feels deeply flawed and cheesy to me. Ubisoft needs to re-evaluate their monetization strategies if they ever want to be taken seriously, because if they are fundamentally shifting the gameplay experience in order to make some more money on people who are too lazy to get the levels themselves, that is pathetic. It IS pathetic. I also hated the way that the level cap ~~encouraged~~ mandated playing. The game forces you to take significant chunks of time in between main missions to grind out crappy, repetitive side missions. I read somewhere that the devs tried to emulate The Witcher 3 with their design of engaging and wide-spanning side quests but man, these SUCKED. I played a random side mission where I solved a convoluted puzzle (using google) and a final fantasy character dropped out of the sky and gave me a sword? Like okay. Sure.
Sights/Sounds
The visuals are pretty stunning, especially for almost a decade old. It's easily the greatest rendition of Egypt, ancient or not, in any video game ever, and the visuals and sound are very polished. The game ran very well on both my 3060ti pc and my steam deck, but the cutscenes struggled, particularly when on boats for some reason? There isn't much music, and it is not notable when present. I also was deeply disappointed by the sound design as a whole, because there was constant repeated voice lines and a lack of variety of sounds, despite the vast nature of the game. The cutscenes felt very low-quality throughout and even during some of the greatest climaxes in the entirety of the game, I was rolling my eyes at the production value of this $100 million-dollar game. Let's take some notes on something like *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33* that had 1/10 (or maybe less) of the budget, and still pulled off some jaw-droppingly beautiful cutscenes, set pieces, and other presentation-related moments that *Assassin's Creed Origins* should've easily been able to incorporate but couldn't.
Gameplay
The level gating is really frustrating, especially since the game provides terrible side missions with disappointing XP returns, for the most part. Luckily, there are a bunch of side missions and they are very easy to find and do, because there are markers in every single conceivable direction telling you what to do and where to do it. The actual combat and general controlling of Bayek (and sometimes Aya and even fewer times, the one real girl) felt pretty good, but it was just overall very basic. I wouldn't have expected anything interesting or even particularly good from Ubisoft, since I have played their games before and been gleefully unimpressed, but even in Ancient Egypt, I felt like any old warrior. The stealth was upsettingly basic for an "Assassin's Creed" game, and left little-to-no room for artistic or creative diversity in your gameplay decisions. All of the enemies felt spongy and especially when even the most basic of enemies was a couple levels higher than you, it was almost impossible to take them down. The world of Ancient Egypt is probably my single favorite and almost inarguably the best part of the entire game. The attention to detail was not the primary concern in creating this ancient country, but in every other aspect, the great atmosphere and world of late Ancient Egypt was capture in all of its glory. Alexandria, Memphis, and Cyrene were magnificent and beautiful to come across during my playthrough. They were fun to explore at first, but since the specific details weren't particularly well created, the cities did get old fast. But because of the easily traversable and overall well-showcased entirety of Egypt, this game's world impressed me a bunch.
Narrative
I'm going to be honest, going in, I had heard that this was one of the best, if not the single best Ubisoft game when it came to its narrative and characters, so I had humongous expectations. It lived up to about 5% of them, and then threw away that 5% in the third to last mission. I loved Aya and Bayek. They were deadass the reason I chose to stick with the game about 1/3 of the way in. But (SPOILER) The missions variety felt nice and fresh for all of three hours, but quickly followed not only a repetitive gameplay structure, but also an obnoxiously repetitive narrative structure. How many of these dudes are we going to have to kill until we determine a reasonable course of finding the man who killed our son? And why is the world not changing, but only getting worse with more of the order falling? And why are we now at the end of the game, and everything is getting worse? And why did we trust Cleopatra? AND NOW WHY AM I PLAYING AS A GIRL MURDERING SOLDIERS IN A CAVE IN JEANS??? I was not a big fan of the story or anything really in it. If you are going to play this game, play it to feel cool and explore Ancient Egypt. Otherwise I don't really think it is worth your time.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 18: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Latest in each market: best PL #76, worst BR #97 · 4 markets collected
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 14.14/day in the week to Aug 12 → 32.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This was the first AC game I ever played, and it was absolutely amazing. I don't play many games or other titles in the AC series, but this one really made a great impression on me—from the world, environment, and interactions to the movement animations; everything felt fluid and natural.
