Excellent price for what you get. A JRPG with lots of fun side content to tackle, a whacky sense of humor, and an excellent story led by an excellent protagonist help make the game shine. I do kind of wish the turn based gameplay was more engaging, but I still enjoyed my playthrough overall.
Currently playing the crap out of Infinite Wealth because LaD made me fall in love with the characters, and I realize I never left a review for this game, which feels a bit unfair because I had SO MUCH FUN with it. This is the first game in the series I decided to play, simply because it was the cheapest, but I enjoyed every single aspect of it. I like the variety in the turn-based combat and some of the attacks have actually made me laugh out loud. I really enjoy attacking enemies by hurling a bike at them. There's also a ton of fun mini games to experience, even mini games that don't sound fun, like running several businesses and having management meetings. Ichiban Kasuga is a great protagonist. He's likeable and earnest, a little loud and childlike but never childish, always has his heart in the right place. It's a nice change from the stoic main video game character and I would absolutely love to see him in a ton of games. Took me a while to warm up to the other side characters, but now I love hanging out with my favorite uncs Adachi and Nanba. Now excuse me while I go back to Infinite Wealth.
Шизофрения еще никогда не была такой веселой
I honestly thought this was going to be a weird as I'd never played a Yakuza game, but it's one of the best turn based JRPGs I've ever played. There's a bit of grinding which is annoying especially if you want to 100%, but it's worth it. I also love the absurd humour.
Я спасу мир с помощью силы дружбы, недиагностированной шизофрении и этого 9-мм пистолета который я нашёл в мусорке.
Every aspect of this game is cringeworthy. The story, the dialogue, the characters, and especially the main characters, who has to be one of the most unlikeable main characters in the genre. At least the game does not take itself seriously, but it ends up looking like the kind of self-deprecating humor that you use as a self-defense mechanism when you know you are embarrassing yourself. I actually find the turn-based combat to be a great idea and improvement, but it is poorly implemented, making the fights seem shallow and repetitive. This game certainly won't help turn-based combat rise from its ashes, unfortunately. The game is not absolutely terrible and I wish I could say something positive about it, but now matter how much I rack my brain, I can't find any specific aspect to praise.
shouldve never changed from being a brawler. this is as much of a yakuza game as assassins creed origins is an actual ac game
Super amazing game. I could have played longer but I wanted to move on to something else so I rushed the last bit and didn't finish everything but did do the main quest. Amazing.
8/10 – Amazing story, lovable characters, and fun turn-based combat. Good: - Good story from start to finish - Fantastic main character - Great cast and lots of personality - Tons of side activities and minigames - Great soundtrack - Lots of content - Job system lets you try different builds Bad: - Grinding is needed before some bosses - Dungeons get repetitive - Strange difficulty spikes - Enemy variety could be better - Jobs are not balanced at all - Tooooo many cutscenes
