About
Worlds Upon the Wind is a peaceful roguelite deckbuilder about rebuilding a shattered civilization after the apocalypse. Shape forests, deserts, and ruins through careful planning and resourcefulness, rather than conflict. Guide settlers across drifting world shards, nurturing new communities and weaving new traditions as you restore life to forgotten lands. Embark on a journey of restoration and community in this tactical game for those who prefer to take their time and weigh their choices.

Assemble your deck from hundreds of powerful Glyphs and unique Relics, each offering new strategic possibilities. Use glyphs to transform the environment and manipulate your chances with powerful invocations. Craft glyphs, balance your deck, and develop unique builds to adapt to the ever-changing landscape and challenges.

Face hundreds of dilemmas with no right answers. Keep wildlife at a distance or invite them into your cities? Preserve violent artwork or destroy it? Sacrifice safety for dangerous alchemical experiments, or seek harmony at the cost of productivity? Choices shape the outcome of your expeditions, as well as the contents of your deck.

Explore procedurally-generated world shards filled with different biomes, events, challenges, and opportunities. Every choice shapes the fate of your settlers and grants new glyphs and relics to transform your deck. Every run offers unique gameplay opportunities and insights that unlock new skills for future runs. And every budding community you establish leaves a mark, no matter how small.

Pacify restless spirits haunting the world shards, and befriend 15 unique animal companions through their own questlines, each offering a game-changing ability to help in future runs.

Immerse yourself in a unique visual style that traces the evolution of Japanese art from ancient picture scrolls to the different styles of Japanese woodblock prints. Serene landscapes, gentle music, and classical hand-painted scenes invite you to reflect and savor each moment as you're planning your next move.

If you're learning Japanese, this game offers completely optional kanji learning minigames with thousands of vocabulary and example sentences to complete, deeply integrated into the game, as well as options to display titles in kanji or kana, with dictionary tooltips.

Very interesting deckbuilder. It reminds me a lot of King of Dragon Pass.
This is one of the greatest and most unique deck-builders I've ever had the pleasure of playing.
It's fun. I don't really know why. The events are small but meaningful. Planning in advance can definitely be done but isn't punishing if you don't. The art is very pretty and it just feels peaceful. Again, it's just fun. You made a fun game. I'll always recommend that.

I downloaded the demo first and within an hour I knew I wanted this game. I enjoy the satisfaction I get when I succeed, The game is challenging yet very enjoyable, my favorite mix!
A gorgeous relaxing and yet mentally challenging rogue-like dec-kbuilder, it does the impossible by sneaking a Japanese Kanji-learning option into an objectively good game. Much of this game's charm comes from its beautiful Japanese art, mythology, and aesthetic, so your long-term enjoyment of the game will likely heavily depend on how much you like those aspects. But the roguelike puzzle gameplay is sufficiently intricate, challenging & varied to make it an interesting game in its own right for fans of this particular niche.
Nice cozy and relaxing game with beautiful japanese historical art and small puzzle minigames
I really love this game. Bought it today and played 10 hours straight. It's a deck builder game with some interesting twists. It uses a lot of Japanese art which makes everything sooo beautiful. There's a gentle spike in difficulty and complexity, which I barely noticed before it had happened. A little gem. Give it a try.
Well made roguelike city builder card game. The love in the game is visible with all the well written lore and little gimmicks the game has. Well worth the money.
Chill, unique roguelite deckbuilder. Nice to see something different, with a very chill setting and nice aesthetic. There's some incredible pacing - start out with simple runs where immediate objectives are the main focus. Then the follow-up runs add extra mechanics. Tutorial starts out very small and the first few runs let you master the basics, but also explore your options as you see fit. Instead of ascension levels, each new run adds new objectives. Those are in turn incredibly hard on first attempt, which is where metaprogression comes in. Here you can choose your playstyle - slowly build up buffs to make the game easier, or immediately invest in tools to reach the new goals with, not necessarily in an easy or simple way. I have a personal grudge against games with metaprogression that when ignored makes the game impossible to beat. But I like it this time - the progression functions as a regulatory device for the learning curve, which works out very nicely. All in all, I strongly recommend. You probably can spare 10 bucks for the chill hours you'll spend with this game.
I played the demo for four hours, then bought the game and just kept going. The game slowly adds layers of complexity over time so you don't feel overwhelmed. The artwork is beautiful. The music is relaxing. After almost nine hours of playing, the game is still finding ways to surprise me as the shards of the world turn into gorgeous maps dotted with cities and towns. Highly recommended to those who love deck building, city building and learning about art.
