Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 23 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

"A Dream Concept with an Unbalanced Reality." As a massive Civilization fan, the pitch for Rogue Hex felt like it was made specifically for me. The idea of blending deep 4X strategy with deckbuilding and roguelike loops is a dream come true on paper, and initially, I was very optimistic about the loop. There is a clear spark of genius in the mechanics, but unfortunately, that excitement quickly faded as the game’s flaws began to overshadow its potential. The first major hurdle is the presentation. Visually, the game is quite difficult to look at. The art direction is a total mess, lacking any sense of cohesion or polish. Between the cluttered UI and the character designs—which I can only describe as hideous—the game feels like a collection of mismatched assets rather than a professional product. The "vibe" is just off, and while the music is passable at best, it does nothing to rescue the drab and uninviting atmosphere. The gameplay is where the most potential lies, but it is currently buried under a mountain of frustration. For a veteran strategy player, the barbarian system is particularly infuriating. They don’t just offer a challenge; they seem to exist outside the rules of the game, scaling at a rate that is consistently ahead of your own technology. This creates an experience that feels less like a fair roguelike "climb" and more like an unbalanced grind where you are punished regardless of your strategy. It is incredibly demoralizing to hit a brick wall every run because the enemies are fundamentally overtuned. I truly believe Rogue Hex shows promise. If the developer can commit to a major balancing overhaul and clean up the visual identity, this could be a standout title in the genre. However, in its current state, the frustration of the balancing and the lack of polish make it a hard pass. It’s a great idea that just isn’t ready for prime time yet.

AI generated content. So what if they're a solo dev? I had high hopes for this game, but then they decided to use the plagiarism engine instead of making placeholder art and staying in EA a little longer. If it was all done instead in the same style of the unit models, nobody would have batted an eye, but now I can't trust whether or not other lazy shortcuts have been taken. If you can't be bothered to make it, I can't be bothered to play it.
Recommending this game feels dangerous. It will consume your thinking as you do one more turn. At first, you'll think it's too easy. Then as you unlock more features you'll think it's not winnable. Then you ponder and come up with ways to win. Then it gets harder. Later, it's mocking you when you thought you had it figured out. So, yes, dangerous is the right word. This game is dangerous.
I bought Rogue Hex for a quick look and somehow stopped playing Civ7 ever since. It looks simple, but every decision is meaningful and the “just one more turn” feeling is paramount.
Been playing 4x games since Civ1. This game feels more like a puzzle than an actual 4x game. Tried 4 times and can't even get past the tutorial...
Buy on sale. Fun but shallow. Great for a potato. I like the concept but it is basically a mobile game on PC. RNG is key and if you fail to get a key tech that lets you exploit a key resource you will be screwed. Nevertheless, the game is pretty easy if you are familiar with 4x games at all. I feel like the Roguelite element needs a ton of work for it to truly be considered as one. It is entirely possible that I have just played till I won and then found no reason to continue but I found no reason to keep playing once I won. With most Roguelikes, the games are hard enough to require many rounds and different strategies thus providing a reason to play again. Here I felt like I stumbled into victory by simply taking on as many camps as possible.
Play Old World instead. chock full of AI generated garbage.
Outstanding, addictive, fun and "One more Turn" compelling. Its never boring as you build your villages into cities, try keep your units alive, try keep the barbarians from the gate and make so many decisions per minute that you feel like a real ruler of your digital land. Highly reccommended.
