Using only a limited set of tools, you have to survive in a hostile environment. Crafting oxygen and finding food seems almost impossible...

This game has been abandoned and the dev does not plan anything for the game since he has moved on and deletes any negative response to any project he is developing so this game is a no go for recomending
Gra w ogóle nie wspierana, zwykły skok na kasę...
In a pixel
We play as an astronaut which spaceship has been destroyed by a missile, fortunately we land on a planet which some tools to build or main base and be ready to cover all our needs in a hostile environment. We start slowly going down into the ground next to a few boxes in a 3x3x3 formation a bunch of stuff that we will give use in the whole game, we will establish our base by putting every object in the ground, being able to rotate the objects as we wish, you can move stuff any way that you want after you have it in the ground. Before starting be sure of taking a look to both visual and written tutorial since most aspects of the game will be very well explained there, any moment in the game, pressing F1 we can see all the tutorials again. One of our main items is the drill, we can use that to mine different resources as well as drill bits, but this, as well as almost all the items in the game, need a power source of a required amount of Volts and in this case a drill bit, that can be broken after using the drill too much, Every object requires a different power source, a drill require 9V, a furnace 240V and so on. We can always craft more batteries of different Volts if we need to. When you are placing stuff the game slows you down big time and it takes slow the same to move a furnace than a plant pot. The other thing that may be weird is that the direction that you are facing with the mouse is the direction that the W key moves you forward. We have several conditions that we have to watch out, hunger, thirst, health points, stamina and oxygen, all of them will kill you slowly at different frequencies of time. We will have to use a lamp at night that throws off a surprising but necessary amount of light to illuminate our base, we also have the possibility to craft an infinite amount of lamps as long as we got the resources. After finishing establishing your base it will probably be night already so you will have to start getting out of there and go mining in the middle of the night because no batteries can be charged during the day and we may face some enemies during our exploration so we should have our light saber equipped, as well as our drill to mine everything we find, after our first expedition we just put everything we found on the furnace. Once we get our alchemy table we will be able to craft water and oxygen bottles, as well as fertilizer and seeds, essential for survival. The main resource to craft all this tables is the steelite and can be found easily in the background while exploring, and this is one of the first thing to do since oxygen will be the first thing we run out of. Content & Prices Price is pretty close to 6 euro with 35% discount, seems like a reasonable price for the content and for having multiplayer, maybe not so worth to buy without discount unless it keeps getting updated. Multiplayer The multiplayer is the best thing that the game can offer, since playing with someone else will allow us to assign task to each other and organize a base way faster than in singleplayer. The bad news is that we need some kind of program or vpn to create the servers and that makes people not try the multiplayer cause I guess that is a bit complicated. Graphics Simple graphics and background not very detailed to be honest, the only backgrounds are mountains and ores that are repeated over and over across the whole map with some meteorites that will fall near your location sometimes. AI AI is pretty bad, there are enemies but those die with two hits with the most basic weapon and deal very low amount of damage, the only use at the moment for the creatures is that after being defeated they may drop some useful resources that cannot be crafted. Bugs A few sound bugs can be found when you alt+tab the game the music just cut and sometimes alt-tabbing again will recover the sound or restart another soundtrack
Pros
● Different crafting tables ● Possibility to build wherever you want ● Multiplayer and coop option ● Very well explained tutorial
Cons
● Multiplayer is kind of hard to play, couldnt find anyone to play with yet
Overall thoughts
I have really enjoyed playing this game in singleplayer and will play again in multiplayer when the game catch more people because it's fun and worth it.
Played 2 hours straight off, got the activation code off of Imgur, thank you, Jakub(s)! aye! Game is really fun, simple and straight forward. I'd buy it! aye!
I can't reccomend the game in its current state - the game is unpolished in many areas. Too easy combat, clunky movement and item handling is not up to today's standard. I'll update this once I've tried the remastered version.
The game has potential, but honestly not much, considering that last major update is at Christmas. I received the game for free in a post in imgur. Please point out any mistakes as I am not an expert of this game. Price Tag: Let's first talk about the price tag, it was around 6-7 USD in my place. Uhhh not much but it feels like it doesn't worth this much. Control: The control is awkward, the games allows the players to aim with mouse but the angle of view cannot keep up with it. You can imagine playing Alien Swarm, the camera is fixed and your "move right" button really moves "right". But now in Voxelaxy, the movement done by "WASD" keys are depedent on where you are aiming. Without changing the angle of view automatically, it soon makes me feel extremely sluggish and dizzy, like you cant move to the place you want. Gameplay: As you can see in my gameplay hours, I didn't really dig deep into the game, but taking those elements mentioned in the tutorials , I believe it can be entertaining. Still there are several things I want to mention. -The seed planting is annoying, you need to click and drag for each plant pot. -The boxes sometimes stuck under my feet, preventing me from going anywhere. -The sound effects, for instance for the drilling of minerals, was not obvious ( or just too low) -You can't choose a distance of placing stuff ( e.g. If I want to put some pot around me, I cannot adjust the distance between me and the pot, I can only put it on a fixed radius. Multiplayer: I didn't really try it but I think that it is pretty annoying again to set up a virtual network (like hamachi) just for a simple game. You need to install extra software for it. Performance: Now some people might lambaste me that why don't you play longer if you are making a review. The problem is that I cannot withstand the framerate. At first the FPS was stuck in 30 ( I believe it is locked ), but soon after putting some pot it, it goes to 15-20, making the experience even worse. My PC spec are definitely up to the requirements, and those required spec should be met by all PC nowadays. Conclusion: Unless you really want the game so much or you just want to support the Polish developer, you can take the shot. Otherwise, think before you leap, there are games like that are less pricey and might be more enjoyable.
neat concept. the main issue I have with the game is you cannot change the direction of the view, nor zoom in/out. this makes it very difficult to explore and avoid enemies. also, enemies are way too difficult, even on easy mode. i dont recommend.
So much potential here, but the price just wouldn't be worth it for me. I played this for about 2 hours but it just didn't grab me for longer. controls are a little strange at first but you get used to it. Crafting and building is cool, there seemsto be plenty to do in that area. The big negative is the environment, it lacks way too much and becomes very uninteresting after a short amount of time. Another con is the camera angle- it is always pointed in one direction, and if you are walking towards the camera, your LOS is very limited and anything can jump you from that direction. Con number 2: In singleplayer, the enemies are incredibly weak, all dying from a couple hits of the sword and doing tiny amounts of damage, and you won't die from lacking resources becuase they are relatively easy to get a hold of. (I did play this on normal though, perhaps hard would make it more dangerous, but regardless, it is just TOO safe) I could see myself buying this game if it were maybe or 4 or 5 bucks, but I just can't reccomend it at the current pricing I will keep up to date with this game and keep a lookout for environmental improvements so that perhaps I could spend more time on this game, it really does have potential
This game is fun, simple and well thought out. When crafting items, you are told exactly what you need vs what you have. (i.e. need 10 have 6) While the movement controls are somewhat odd, it's not too difficult to get used to. However, you cannot control the camera angle and the game is not complete (e.g. items with a description of being useful, but with no in game use.) With the above in mind, and the dev now working on The Constellation, I cannot help but feel that Voxelaxy has been completely abandoned for the newer project. I have contacted the dev* regarding this (and will happily correct myself if my suspicions are incorrect), but for now, I cannot possibly recommend Voxelaxy. (*It's been over 4 months now and still no reply) I'd instead suggest to hold off until The Constellation is released, and hope that it does not become abandoned like Voxelaxy...
