i had fun playing this game in the day. every patch you could tell they tried to make the game better. then something happened and they lost the power to work on the game. they didnt abandond the game, some one stole it from them and trashed it to hurt them. it will be missed.
ok so - anyone who says 'they need more time....' or hoping for more development: This game has been dead for years now. It was great, as my 200+ hours show, but sadly the developers (Pathea) had lost a huge chunk of essential data because of a server malfunction (or so I understood at the time) and couldn't recover it. They were also a fresh startup and working on another game during that time (My time at Portia). So they stopped work on this, and made it free to play. This was the only game they abandoned so far and everything after (the very successful 'My time at..' games) were fully released and done. So no I of course cannot FULLY recommend this as its obviously (sadly) abandoned, but its still very fun and currently free and it was very unfortunate unforseeable circumstances. Anyway hope this helps.

Was great before the developers lost the source code and force updated the client to be single player, instead of recreating or trying to fix the issue the developers decided it would be best to work a second game, will be boycotting it though.
Sadly dead game, but whats left of itits stilll really good. Really sad caase. items / wepons / vehicles builder is superrior on its own right.
Love it, can be janky but fun
This was No Man's Sky before No Man's Sky. Except: when it "released" (early access) it was actually better than nms when THAT released. Unlike nms, this game stopped getting updates, and by now is wildly worse. However, it is free now, and I know no second game with all these features in one place. Usually I'd have to play 2-3 different games to get an expierence like this. If this was still 20€ it'd be a hard pass. But for free it's an equally hard recommend
This game had been on my backlog for a long time, because I didn't have a decent PC. Then I forgot about it, and later it was a lack of time that kept me away. But now I finally had the time and a good PC to play it. And it has turned out to be a disappointment. After several hours of play, I pushed past the point where the game lost its charm. Specifically, I'm at the point where I must build my own base, my own colony. And this is the problem: no matter how many colonists I invite to my settlement, I have to do all the hard work myself. It's not just that I have to build my own house — I have to clear and flatten a massive area to place all the equipment, while the other survivors don't lift a finger. We go from adventuring across the map, fighting enemies and gathering important resources, to slaving away for 10 hours trying to clear a spot for the base (and I even picked a fairly flat location). I love Pathea Games' titles — I really enjoyed My Time at Portia and Sandrock, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they release next. But in the case of Planet Explorers, I understand there were issues with losing the source code, among other things. Even so, it could have been a decent game if not for this huge oversight of having to flatten an area the size of a stadium with nothing but a pickaxe. I'm sorry to say that, while it's charming and free to play, the fact that you have to build your settlement without any automated tools or anything to ease the workload is frustrating. Very frustrating. I do not recommend it. P.S. It's also annoying that the game isn't available in Spanish — one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.
A decent sandbox. Specially the craft building. You have to actually balance the damn thing if you want it to fly\sail properly. The gunsmithing is crap though. You can create any form you like but the end stats only count the parts used and material quality and quantity.
for free, a normal game
