with a few hundred mods the game can be great. And Vicman is the best tour guide. 7.5/10
I genuinely thought this game was freeware at this point, the fact they still have the gal to ask people to pay for this is horrific and ensures that I will never buy another Keen Software game as long as I live. Anyone involved in upper management for this title should feel ashamed
This game (and its developer) broke my heart repeatedly over the years, largely due to persistent bugs, unstable physics, and abandoned expectations around its development. What makes Medieval Engineers special is its component-wise construction. Unlike most sandbox builders that abstract or streamline structural systems, this one asks you to engage with individual elements and their interactions. That creates a level of precision and emergent failure that’s too rare. Unfortunately, those same systems are undermined by instability. Physics eccentricities and long-standing issues often invalidate careful work. I can’t broadly recommend it; most players will have a better experience elsewhere. But if you enjoy slow, deliberate construction, accept frequent rebuilds as part of the loop, and have a high tolerance for technical friction, there is something here worth experiencing. Glory to Klang!
This game is the reason I'm not buying SE2 until it's confirmed to run perfectly. This game. I will never forgive you, KSH.
Imagine if someone made a tech demo for their other game and sold it at the price of a full game. Oh wait, that's what this is. Such genuine disrespect for the consumer makes me never want to buy from them again.
Devs made this game to test out planet interactions for their space game and abandoned it It has a mod that adds more stuff nut there isn't much to do in the game anyway unless you are really into building castles and then hurling rocks at them with a trebuchet
abandoned. Avoid this.
dont buy it.. may be the same creators as space engineers but they gave up on this game... there literally is no gameplay... just building.. and struggling to build... if i remember correctly the food system was broken.. so if you wanted to actually do food survival you cant even do that... this is basically just a catapult simulator.. that nobody wants to play..
It was a cool tech demo sold as a game and abandoned. It was never anything more
I like this game, however I'm very sad to see it was abandoned. would love to see them pick back up and work on this one even if on the side. it seems like it was more built as a showcase and not to be a full fledged game. At this time I can't recommend it as much as I would space engineers.
