The first game in the Utawarerumono trilogy of story-rich tactics RPGs. Into a world filled with verdant nature, populated by folk with fluffy ears and fuzzy tails, awakens Hakuowlo, a man of masked mien and missing memory.

Final Fantasy can't even dream of being this PEAK.
Utawarerumono completely wrecks you. It is an unforgettable experience. AND it's fully voiced! First time you get to hear Aruru's noises you instany feel paternal towards her!... Being a hybrid visual novel and SRPG, it spends a lot of time with a likeable and engaging cast,, offering a variety of different combat styles and units to chose from. It might appear as a generic fantasy on surface level, but the game doesn't push its world-building, nor is it annoying about it, it has a distinct cultural texture that makes it stand out. And yeah there is a harem point too so pick your favourite! This is a genuine slow burn. The game follows episodic structure with events meshed in between actual plot, which at times felt very dragging, you might spend hours in vn segments before getting to a brief 10 minute fight that moves the plot. The fights are, to be quite honest, seemingly a formality that really makes it more of a VN rather than a strategy game. The maps are really lacking it, and even on Hard mode there is no challenge. But it doesn't force you to grind too much to speed thru most of the fights, and honestly, final strikes are cool. I highly recommend it, even with slow start, janky combat system, this is one of the most memorable stories i've went through, which might not be a selling point as JRPG's are generally very flexible in terms of that. The music is touching, I watched the anime adaptation back in late 2010s and the vibes are perfect. Will be playing sequels.
I CANNOT BELIEVE HAKUOWLO DID NOT **** ERURU. In remastered version. Truly a generational fumble.
Great remake of the prequels!
Отличная новелла с неплохим геймплеем и достаточно интересным сюжетом.
Time well spent. It is the first game in a trilogy; the mechanics are typical of standard turn-based JRPGs, but the story is top-tier and serves as the foundation for the subsequent two titles. Each character has their own backstory, and the narrative truly shines when you complete all three games.

Father. Uncle. Loving Master. Big Bro. Fool. Emperor. Promise-Breaker. God. The story of one man.
库娅的转变非常的突然,给我一种漏玩了一个章节感觉,或许是年代久远的剧本给人一种不属于这个时代的隔阂感吧,没有假面和二白来的传神,不过整体算是好剧本
